Wonderful Book Review – Tycolili
Reviewer: Tycolili
First of all, about the title of the book:
The concise title of the book ensures enough suspense and points out the theme of the story: it will revolve around a ghost-related exchange - not bad! In this regard, a certain Xiu made up storylines such as "No. 8 Pawnshop": weird "goods", strange clerks, and arrogant store managers...... Ah, one can imagine what a strange story would happen around the exchange.
That's the benefit of a simple title - don't think too much, don't be too literary, leave a suspense for readers to look forward to!
Next, about the introduction:
A synopsis that looks like an advert? A certain cultivator was a little stunned when he saw this. It's not a good enough synopsis, and the co-authorship story doesn't revolve around the exchange, but rather what happens to a certain character after he buys a ghost? It's a deviation from the original expectation of a certain repair. For such a profile, a slightly more kind evaluation can be "eccentric", while a more malicious evaluation is "pretentious".
Advertising slogan introductions rarely provide readers with truly valuable information, because advertisements are largely "slogans" more than substance, so they don't contain much of the plot, and even if they do, they don't necessarily guarantee accuracy. If the reader misunderstands, he will blame the author for taking them into the ditch in subsequent reading, and it is not surprising that he will abandon the book in anger. Therefore, it is hoped that the author will revise the brief to make it more substantive.
About Wedges:
A certain Xiu was very surprised to see a ghost story written in its own right, and this story was unexpected! Although there are some delays in the description of the dialogue language, the cause and the result are clear and smooth, and the ending of the story is unexpected and reasonable, and at the same time brings out the rules that must be followed by the "ghost exchange" trading - if you don't follow the rules, the customer who does not speak of integrity will be ruined!
The wedge is generally good, the atmosphere is generated from this, the weird and inexplicable is relaxed and lively, and the novel imagination runs through it without causing too much fright to the reader, even readers who are not too afraid to read horror stories should be able to deal with it easily, and it should become a wide audience to read.
About the text:
I read more than a dozen chapters in a row with the interest brought out by the wedge, but a certain cultivator began to make trouble......
Let's talk about the good things about this story first:
First, the suspenseful and bizarre atmosphere is always well shaped. The café called "Der Spiegel" is actually the location of the Ghost Exchange, which not only houses lonely ghosts, but also seems to be a blank space between heaven, man, and earth. The proprietress is a maverick, does not play cards according to common sense, and there is a special charm between her gestures, just like a worldly master. Her presence also establishes the plot direction of the story, and she is clearly a Keymaker who controls the plot - in any case, the design of this character is quite successful in the opinion of a certain Xiu.
When strange events occur, the author is also accustomed to describing them in as simple a way as possible, so as to reduce the dyslexia and continue to let the reader make up for it on their own. Stimulating the reader's imagination through the introduction, so as to achieve the effect of making people "scare themselves", can be regarded as a superior technique in writing supernatural stories.
Second, the gags are full of surprises. Due to frequent visits to "Spiegel", Xie Xun and the proprietress seem to have gradually formed a relationship like "happy enemies", and Xie Xun's clever complaints always arouse the boss's speechless heart. Regardless of what other readers think, a certain Xiu Ji feels that such a paragraph inadvertently adds to the light-hearted side of the story, and the atmosphere is no longer somber, and the nature of reading is also improved.
Let's talk about the shortcomings in the text:
First, the wedge has little to do with the text. The protagonist of the wedge, "Wenwen", seems to have become a victim under the rules of the exchange because of his untrustworthiness, which is a suspense that readers look forward to, but the author does not make good use of it, mentioning it slightly in four or five chapters, and not revisiting it until more than twenty chapters. Not all readers are happy to watch so many middle parts to wait for the suspense to unfold, and the author should pay attention to the rhythm control.
Second, it is also the part of the development of the story, which generally seems to revolve around the protagonist Xie Xun, but his focus is on the "Xiaoge" who jumped to his death, although he often visits "Spiegel" for this reason, but he rewrites his exploration process again and again, and even spends a lot of ink on introducing the history of various ruins, but the theme of the story is a little far from the title of "Ghost Exchange". There are certain hidden dangers in this, and the author needs to pay attention to it.
However, looking at the author's recent update, it seems that he has noticed this, and is trying to make the plot fit the title again, which is a welcome change.
Also, thirdly, the progress of the plot has dragged on a little slowly. Xie Xun's investigation of Xiaoge's death has continued to more than 30 chapters, but there is no substantial plot progress. Investigating and adventuring again and again, the feeling of a certain cultivator is beginning to show signs of routine, which also needs to be paid attention to - let this incident develop as soon as possible.
