According to the establishment system of the Maritime Self-Defense Force, SS507 is a separate class, and the number should be SS601.

It is said that the Maritime Self-Defense Force has classified it as a "Canglong" class, mainly to hide people's eyes and ears.

Compared with the "Canglong" class, the biggest difference of SS507 is that it replaces the Stirling engine with the "proton membrane fuel cell" developed by Yueben to form a new AIP system.

It is said that the time for the development of the "proton membrane fuel cell" is not shorter than that of Germany, but the starting point is low, and no major breakthroughs have been made in a number of related technologies, so it has to import the Stirling engine from Sweden before the construction of the "Canglong" class, which constitutes a "non-dependent aerodynamic system".

Originally, the Maritime Self-Defense Force also planned to introduce fuel cells from Germany, but Germany was worried that it would steal from the company, so it made many restrictions on technology transfer. Soon after, South Korea imported the production technology of the "Son Won-il" class (214-class) submarines from Germany.

Probably for the sake of face, the Maritime Self-Defense Force eventually abandoned the idea of introducing fuel cells from Germany.

It is undeniable that the fuel cell is still the AIP system with the most development potential, and the comprehensive surname energy, especially in the silent surname, is far better than the French closed-cycle diesel engine and the Swedish Stirling engine, otherwise the company would not continue to develop fuel cells after the introduction of the Stirling engine.
