In the morning, Zhao Yue said goodbye to his wife and children and went to the airport, flew directly to France, and then transferred to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is the abbreviation of the Republic of the Congo Bencoo, which was renamed "Zaire" until the 20th century. Formerly a Belgian colony. In 1962, the Belgian political axe was forced to agree to its reading, and since then, the country has been in turmoil, often armed conflicts.
There are about 62.52 million people, and the DRC is divided into 254 tribes, of which about 84% of the total population are Bantu-speaking, mainly Congolese, Ngara, Luba, Mongo-Nkunndu, Lunda, etc., and the rest are Sudanese-speaking Azande, Nilot-speaking Alul and Pygmies. The official language is French, with the main languages being Lingala, Chikongo, Chiluba and Swahili.
At the same time, it has extremely poor sanitation conditions, with an average of 14,000 people and one doctor, an infant mortality rate of 17 per cent, an HIV infection rate of 14 per cent among people aged 15-49, 45 per cent of the population is malnourished, and the average life expectancy is only 41.8 years.
Zhao Yue went through immigration procedures after getting off the plane in Kinshasa, the airport staff in the Democratic Republic of the Congo was very dark, and they liked to find some reason to kill some foreign passengers, especially Chinese, Zhao Yue did not know the trick and was slaughtered for 300 US dollars.
After coming out of the airport, Zhao Yue found a hotel to stay in. The streets were chaotic and full of mercenaries with guns on their backs. Here, mercenaries are rampant, and the chaos makes this a paradise for mercenaries.
The source of mercenaries here is very complex, and there are people of all races and countries. Mercenaries are generally recruited, and those who have been soldiers are the best, and it is even better if they have been special forces. Mercenaries are not necessarily all in the army, pilots and marines are also sought-after goods among mercenaries. The salary of mercenaries can be divided into different grades according to the degree of danger of the mission, different types of troops, and different sources. Recruitment targets include, civilians, former soldiers, outlaws, etc., in short, if you want to join, you can pass the assessment. The more regular mercenary units in the world, such as the French Foreign Legion, are that no matter where you come from or what you have done, as long as you sign up and pass the assessment, you can join, and then according to its set of training methods, after the training, you will be assigned to each foreign regiment unit. It is said that I prefer the Chinese because the Chinese listen to the command and can endure hardships.
It is impossible not to mention the originator of mercenaries without mentioning a Frenchman named Bob Denar. Born in Bordeaux, France, Denard joined the French Marine Corps shortly after the end of World War II. After 1952, Denard worked as a police officer in the French colony.
In 1960, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) came under Belgian rule, and soon after the outbreak of civil war. The Belgian plantation owner Jacques Schramm formed the 10th Commando, the first mercenary force in modern African history. In addition to him, the former colonel of the Belgian political axe, La Morin, the former French professional soldier Roger Forques, the former British [***] officers Mike Hall and John Peters, and Denard are known by historians as the "former six" of the African mercenary group, and they were employed by the opposition MoΓ―se Chongber.
Due to the armed intervention of the United Nations, Chongbo was forced into exile, and Denard and others retreated to Portuguese Angola. Immediately afterwards, Mobutu, who held the military power of the Nationalist Army, took advantage of Chongbo's visit abroad in November 1965 to launch a coup d'Γ©tat to depose President Kasavubu and appoint himself as a scholar. Mobutu secretly wooed the most power-hungry Denard and appointed him as the front commander of the Congolese National Army. After a bloody battle, Denard skillfully used the technique of "money and inducement, each defeated" to put down the rebellion.
However, only a year later, Denard fell out with Mobutu, and another "mercenary war" broke out. Due to Mobutu's strength, the fighting continued until April 1968, when Denard's mercenaries laid down their arms and withdrew.
After leaving the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Denard was involved in civil wars in Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Benin, Gabon, Angola and other countries. According to statistics, between 1970 and 1980 alone, at least 150 military coups and civil wars in Africa were linked to European mercenaries, and Denard even stole the power of an African country in 1978, shocking the whole world.
Denard's "appeasement" action was quickly exposed, and Denard's act of "stealing the country" aroused public indignation in Africa, and the French political axe that engaged in "open cooking" in Africa could not hold up the face. The French political axe finally launched a military operation on December 15. Faced with no chance of victory, Denard announced that he would give up resistance, and after dawn, Denard left this "promised land" with his family and men on a C-130 transport plane.
When Denard returned to France, he faced a series of judicial trials. He defended himself with evidence and stressed that he had been in contact with French intelligence since he left the DRC. Eventually, Denard was acquitted. Today, the "king of mercenaries" lives with his children and grandchildren in a villa outside Paris with the large sums of money he earned from his early years in Africa.
The mercenary market, which is a market organized by mercenaries on their own, has no administrators. Everyone here was holding a gun, some were chatting with three or two people, some were drinking with one person, some were simply sleeping on the floor, and some were four or five people getting together to gamble. These people are gathered here just to wait for someone to pay them to go to war.
There are people of all colors here, Zhao Yue casually turned around, and the mercenaries around him all looked at him with vigilant eyes. He swept his eyes and found a yellow man with his eyes closed and leaning against a pillar, walking over and asking in Chinese: "Are you Chinese?" β
The man opened his eyes and looked at Zhao Yue expressionlessly, and said, "Yes! Do you want to hire someone to do something? β
Zhao Yue nodded and said, "Yes, it's not convenient to talk here, come with me!" β
The man stood up and followed Zhao Yue to the side, Zhao Yue said, "My name is Zhao Yue, what about you?" β
The man: "Wei Cheng"
Zhao Yue nodded and said: "Everyone is a fellow villager, I won't talk nonsense with you, I want to find a herb, this herb is only available here!" He took out a photo from his pocket and handed it to Wei Cheng, and continued: "I want you to help me find out where this herb is, if you want to go to the deep mountains and old forests, I want to ask you to be an accompanying escort, you can find helpers and guides, you decide the number of people yourself, and we can negotiate the price."
Wei Cheng looked at the photo and said, "How can I contact you after I hear the news?" β
Zhao Yue took out the business card of the hotel he is staying in now and three thousand euros from his pocket and handed it to him: "I am now living in room 903 of this hotel, if there is any news, go there to find me, and we will discuss the price, these three thousand euros are your activity funds!" β
Wei Cheng took it and said, "Whether there is news or not, I will give you an answer within three days!" β
Zhao Yue said: "Okay, I'll wait for you for three days!" β
