Chapter Ninety-Eight: One Flower, One World
One flower is one world, one leaf is one Bodhi.
A person, a life, I search all over your heart, step all over your return, under the cliff of nonsense.
One flower and one world, one grass and one country. A spoonful of water also has a bend, and a stone has a depth.
All sentient beings, into one sentient beings, into all living beings, into all living beings.
What is a Buddha? Where is the Buddha, where are the Buddha's traces? Everything has yin and yang, and yin and yang are sympathetic, and all things are born. Perfection and incompleteness, insignificance and vastness, coarseness and refinement, intertwined and transformed, Buddha-nature is fully integrated into every tiny existence in front of us.
From the Yungang Grottoes in Datong, Shanxi, from the Hexi Corridor to the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, the Maijishan Grottoes, the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, the Buddha statues in Qingzhou, etc., the Buddha statues of all sizes, imaginary and illusory Buddha statues, want to use the painter's heart to create the Buddha statue freely.
My group of Buddha statue sketches now seems to be a memory connection extending from a starting point, which is the creation of the image from memory and the grotto image through the use of lines and the form of ink.
Make a statue of the grotto, explain with a brush, gaze gently. Spread along the paper side to the four same extensions. Feel the simplicity and abundance of space, empty and full.
In fact, each Buddha statue itself is the cycle of life, which can be hidden for a long time, and can also break through and appear, and will construct my memory without leaving a trace for a long time. And, of course, the color and charm of the years.
When people walk into the Buddha cave, look up and see the sitting statue of the Buddha Sakyamuni, wearing a full-shoulder coat, making a Dharma seal, sitting on the lotus platform, the Buddhist scriptures say that this is the posture of the Buddha Buddha preaching to the believers after becoming a Buddha. Amitabha, known as the head of the "Three Sages of the West", also sat on the lotus platform, with his hands on his feet and palms on his feet, holding a lotus platform in his palms, as if guiding sentient beings to the Pure Land of Western Buddhism. Guanyin, who is famous for his great compassion, is dressed in white, sitting on a white lotus, holding a pure bottle in one hand and a white lotus in his hand, as if revealing the pure Bodhisattva heart of Guanyin, and fully guiding believers to leave the world and reach the pure land of the Buddha land where the lotus flowers are in full bloom.
I have been engaged in the research and creation of flower and bird painting for a long time, and I once wanted to use the indissoluble bond between Buddha and flowers to paint many legends of lotus flowers.
The lotus flower symbolizes the purity of the Buddha's country, the Buddha's virtue, the subtlety of the Dharma, and even the process of cultivation and the realm of Zen enlightenment. The lotus flower in my eyes is the lotus flower in front of the Buddha, the holy and unique lotus flower is a symbol of holiness and auspiciousness, and the lotus flower is not stained by the mud, which means that the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are pure and unstained from the sound of the world, and the flower grows in the water but does not touch the water, just as the Buddha is not stained with the troubles and sorrows of the world.
When the flowers are asleep, it is a heart rhyme that makes people thinner and thinner. In fact, all I was looking forward to was that moment. Imprinted in the inner turmoil, there is no dispute with others. A gentle lotus flower, quietly opening on the tip of my pen. This lotus, its purity, only reminds me in my quiet thoughts, on the wall of the Qinghe study house.
In fact, whether it is a Buddhist or a layman, almost everyone admires the lotus flower and respects its holiness and purity of "only being viewed from a distance, not blasphemed". Perhaps, only the lotus flower is a sacred flower that never withers, forever fragrant in the spiritual world of mortal earth.
"When you look at the lotus flower, you should know that you don't stain your heart. The Buddha said: calm is calm, the wind and moon in the world, do not forget the original intention, the mood of appreciating the flowers, can always be calm and peaceful. Understand the gathering and dispersion of life. Like the smoke of the past, in the reincarnation, precipitation. In the Zen of the lotus, the floating flowers bloom, and the years are quiet. In the end, listen to a piece of Sanskrit Buddhist language, and life is incense.
The story of "Smiling Flowers" comes from Song Puji's "Five Lantern Huiyuan, Seven Buddhas, Shakyamuni Buddha": "At the Lingshan Meeting, the World Venerable held flowers and flowers, and everyone was silent, but the Venerable Ka Ye smiled with a broken face. Shizun Yun: "I have the Dharma Eye, Nirvana, the reality has no appearance, the subtle Dharma, I don't set up words, I don't teach outside the teachings, and I give instructions to the Mahakasya. Ka Ye smiled heartily and obtained the true transmission of the Buddha. This is Zen Buddhism that transmits the heart from the heart.
In the statues of the Buddha caves, there are people who donate flowers to hold flowers, Buddha disciples to hold flowers, and even Bodhisattvas to hold flowers. In Buddhist statues, the hands of Shakyamuni Buddha have specific seals, and the holding flowers only appear in Chinese Ming and Qing Dynasty prints, which should also be a counter-evidence. However, the "flower smile" has become a form of Zen Buddhism's selection of the mantle of the heirs, and as for what the content of the meeting is, it has become a privacy between the inheritors, and others do not know.
In the Buddhist scriptures, flowers are used to explain the righteousness, and the characteristics of flowers symbolize the purity of the Buddha's country, the Buddha's virtue, the subtlety of the Dharma, and even explain the process of cultivation and the realm of Zen enlightenment.
A person who knows how to appreciate the beauty of flowers and gain the enlightenment of life from appreciating flowers is also a kind of cultivation with clear insight. There is a saying in the Huayan Sutra that "a flower is a world, and a leaf is the same". But in China, it has evolved into the common saying "flower world", which is used as a metaphor for the prosperous world.
In Buddhism, I think the most important thing for a worldly person is to have faith in one's own life force, and to recognize one's purified nature.
I read the "Lotus Sutra of the Mystic Law": "When the Buddha comes out, he will use this Huahua, respect the Buddha, turn into a canopy, rejoice and enthusiasm, and respect faith, so he will die, and he will be born in 33 days, that is, he will take the palace and the best Dharma Hall." "Because of the scattered flowers offered to the Buddha, you have to be reborn in the highest heaven. "Compilation of the Book of Hundred Yuan", "The Book of Wisdom and Foolishness" and so on have similar records. In the 80th volume of the Ahama Sutra, "The Buddha Speaks of the Difference in Karmic Retribution for the Elders of the Buddha", it says: "If there are sentient beings, they will receive ten kinds of merit by offering incense flowers. One is as pure as a flower, two are free of smell, three are blessed with incense and abstain from incense, all over the world, four are born with the place where they are born, the root of the nose is not bad, five are superior to the world and are admired by all, six are always pure and fragrant, seven are happy and correct the Dharma, and are held to read and recite, eight have great blessings, nine are destined for life, and ten are quick to attain nirvana. It is a name that gives incense and flowers to obtain ten kinds of merits. "Incense Flower Offerings" embodies the pious beliefs of Buddhist believers, and also contains their yearning and expectation for good fortune, wisdom, and a better life.
In the paintings, the painter paints the deceased, although small, but also broad. Man is a part of the natural being, but he sees the self as a detail of the natural creature and becomes invisible, and at the same time expands the self into the totality of nature. Using a very small force to shake up the entire space, and conveying more life through small things, is like using the original small power of human beings to transform the world. The art of painting and artists cannot transform the world, but they can change the people who make the world and create a new realm of self-perception in their own works.
