Chapter 70: The Legend of Zhang Baozai's Hidden Treasure
Liu Yi speculated that Xiao Wu should go to find the treasure of the famous red gang Zhang Baozai, his speculation was not wrong, Xiao Wu was holding a treasure map in his hand in the evening of the same day, and Liu Yi smiled when he saw the treasure map.
This time, Liu Yi also planned to look for Zhang Baozai's treasure, but it was definitely not a treasure map, and Zhang Baozai's treasure had no treasure map at all.
It is rumored that the famous pirate Zhang Baozai of the Qing Dynasty once guarded Qiong? The Zhou Strait, which specialized in attacking the official ships of the Qing court and the merchant ships of foreign invaders, seized a large amount of gold, silver and jewelry. It is said that a large amount of treasure was hidden by Zhang Baozai in the pirate base camp - Shangchuan and various parts of the island, and left a manuscript with treasure poems.
Since the manuscripts have been lost for a long time, a large number of treasures are still buried deep underground, waiting to be discovered by chance.
Zhang Baozai as "China's first pirate" deservedly, since he is "China's first pirate", then we can infer that he has a wealth is by no means a few, more importantly, according to historical records, in the then Liangguang Governor Zhang Bailing's strategy of banning the island and the internal and external attacks of the Chinese and foreign fleets, Zhang Baozai accepted the Qing court's recruitment, and was awarded the title of "Thousand Generals", helping the Qing court to suppress bandits, and finally "died in a daze", leaving a large number of untapped treasures.
There are many theories about how powerful Zhang Baozai is, "The Legend and Truth of Zhang Baozai" is just one of them, and Liu Yi has also heard of another theory.
The scale of Zhang Baozai's power can be seen from the surrender table after he surrendered to the Qing court: "...... It started out as a group of three or five, and then grew to tens of thousands. In addition, the years of famine and arrears are in arrears, and the people are not able to make a living. As a result, the accumulation became more and more strange...... "Red Gang" had 800 large ships and more than 1,000 small boats at its peak. The crowd reached 100,000 people.
Such men, so many ships, robbed the caravans of countless treasures.
According to legend, the location of Zhang Baozai's treasure is recorded in the manuscript, but the manuscript has been lost for a long time, and even the copy is only passed down orally, making the treasure hunt extremely difficult. Since Shadi Fishing Port is the base camp of Zhang Baozai's activities, it is likely that it is also one of the main treasure spots. Based on this inference, the first stop of the treasure hunt must be the Shadi fishing port.
To the north of the fishing port of Shadi. There is a strange rocky hill, which the locals call Qipan Mountain, and the name of this mountain is inseparable from Zhang Baozai.
According to historical data, when Zhang Baozai was the leader of the gang, it was the heyday of the "Red Gang". At that time. They took control of the upper and lower rivers. Island, Chixi. Peninsula, Sha Tsui. Coastal and east to the Xiangjiang River, west to the sea. South of many islands. And set up forts at the northern end of Shangchuan and the southern end of Chixi to control this important route.
Hitherto. On the top of the large tower at the northern end of Kamikawa, there are still the remains of the former fort. It is said that all ships passing through this route must be ordered to dock for inspection before they can be released, and if the other party does not comply, Zhang Baozai will order his subordinates to raise a pennant made of thin iron sheets, and the horn of the flag points in which direction. The fleet under his command will attack in which direction, and today's flag pulling mountain in Shangchuan and Xiangjiang, and pulling the flag corner in Chixi, are all named because they are the place where Zhang Baozai raised the flag.
Qipan Mountain is the "headquarters" where Zhang Baozai strategized and won thousands of miles, and there are many big stones here. There are many caves, it is a natural hiding place that is easy to defend and difficult to attack, in that year, Zhang Baozai ordered people to dig a chessboard on the big stone at the highest place on the top of the mountain, he often played a kind of folk local chess called "Xia San" with the military advisor here, and a lot of combat tricks were born between the games.
In Qipan Mountain, there are many caves like this, and the caves have been the first choice for treasure collectors throughout the ages, since this is the case, there are infinite possibilities for hiding treasures between the intricate caves of Qipan Mountain, but unfortunately, there is too little evidence of treasure hidden by Zhang Baozai, and the huge Qipan Mountain cannot allow people to carefully rummage through every cave and boulder, but we should believe that one day, when someone lucky turns over one of the boulders, the dazzling jewels lie there.
In Qipan Mountain, no legendary treasure has been found, however, there seems to be a greater possibility of another treasure spot in Kamikawa.
"Olive boy to Emei, one hundred and nine thousand four, the moon hangs on the tail of the bamboo pole, and the two shadows intersect." This is the most famous of Zhang Baozai's countless treasure poems. It is said that Zhang Baozai left treasure poems at each treasure spot, but most of these treasure poems are difficult to find with the loss of manuscripts, and a few poems have been reluctantly passed down through records or word of mouth, and are used by treasure hunters as a key to open the door to the treasure.
"Olive to Emei" this treasure spot is openly located on both sides of the highway between the low mountains, not at all as mysterious as the rumors, Olive Boy, Emei turned out to be two stones on the mountain, Olive Stone is in a group of rocks, similar to olives, the surface is smooth into the mirror, the peculiarity of this Olive Stone, not only the shape of the stone, but also the inscription poem next to the stone, is the treasure poem left by Zhang Baozai, on the opposite side of the mountain, there is another stone annihilated in the green grass, there is a natural crack on the stone, like Chang'e's delicate silkworm eyebrows, this is the Emei stone.
The meaning of this treasure poem is that there are 109,400 taels of gold and silver treasures buried between the Olive Stone and the Emei Stone, and the way to obtain these treasures is to erect two bamboo poles at night, and when the moon rises to the top of the poles, the treasure can be found from the place where the shadows of the two poles meet.
As long as you find the two points of the bamboo pole, determine the height of the bamboo pole, then it is easy to find the treasure, in the field, people have inadvertently found a smooth boulder, which is thick with a layer of cactus, after the local villagers shovel the cactus on the stone, they are pleasantly surprised to see that a stone cave with a diameter of about 4 cm appears in front of them, is this the place where the bamboo pole is inserted in the legend? If so, where is the other hole where the bamboo pole is inserted? Unfortunately, no other hole was found, and even if it did, it was impossible to know how high the pole was, and it was still impossible to determine the exact location of the treasure.
Different from other treasure legends, the story of Zhang Baozai takes place in the Qing Dynasty, only about two hundred years of history from us, and there will not be much error in the oral tradition of historical events, according to the old man, there are dozens of treasure caves in Shangchuan and nearby islands alone, and most of them are still "hidden in the boudoir", such as the "upside-down hanging head" of Gongwan, the "ghost boy on the mast" of the back, the "Seven Stars with the Moon" of Langwan, the "stone finger" of Qipan Mountain, the "half of the moon" stone carving of Wuzhu Island, the "Golden Well" of Pulling Flag Mountain, and the "Golden Well" of Zhuqi Mountain. "Silver Top" and so on have Zhang Baozai's treasures, but the treasure secret has long been lost, and it is difficult for people to determine the specific location to find the treasure.
Even so, there are many legendary stories about treasure hunting and treasure in Shangchuan, and the locals talk about it, and in Wuzhu, there is a man named Meng Le who stumbled upon a thin book in the grazing, but Meng Le was illiterate, so he tore off the paper and rolled cigarettes. Until one day, his friend went to the island and found the thin book, but unfortunately only the last page remained, which read: "There is a stone boat in Wuzhuzhouzai, the bow of the boat wears the stone heart, the stern lives in the three-pointed stone, the stone incense burner has a tic-tac-toe underneath, and there are thirty-six weeks of line from the tic-tac-toe, three hundred taels of gold, and three suitcases of silver." At that time, the two found the incense burner and the tic-tac-toe, but they didn't know what the 36-week line was and how to calculate it, so they had to give up, leaving this mystery unsolved......
The legend of Shangchuan's treasure is vivid and vivid, and it seems to be unquestionable, and the inference about Zhang Baozai's manuscript is also very reasonable, but the original copy is lost, and the information passed down orally is difficult to distinguish between true and false, and the staggering amount of wealth on Shangchuan Island is still buried underground, and people have not been able to solve the mystery of the Shangchuan pirate treasure hiding, nor have they found the lost treasure in the legend, after all, there are too few valuable hints in historical legends, and perhaps only accidental discoveries will make some treasures see the light of day.
In 1809, the United States and Portugal provided munitions, and sent a fleet to cooperate with the officers and soldiers of Bai Ling, the governor of Liangguang, to carry out internal and external attacks on Zhang Baozai. After Zhang surrendered, there were still 60,000 or 70,000 people left in Xiangjiang, and more than 1,000 large and small ships refused to return. Zhang Baozai led the officers and soldiers everywhere to suppress the Five-Color Gang, and they were desperate and set sail to the Philippines, North Borneo, Malaya and other places. This was the largest group of Chinese who went overseas before the emergence of indentured Chinese workers in modern times.
There are still many relics of Zhang Baozai's activities in Xiangjiang, "Dongying Pun" and "Xiying Pun" are the locations of Zhang Baozai's camp, there is a Zhangbao Tsai ancient road in Tuoqi Mountain, there is Zhang Baozai Stone Fort in Ap Lei Chau, there is Zhang Baozai Lookout in Wuguling, there is Zhang Baozai Outer Village in Ma Wan Tin Hau Temple, and there are Cheung Bao Tsai Caves in Cheung Chau and Chung Hom Kok in Stanley......
Legend has it that there are also Cheung Po Tsai Caves in To Kwa Wan, Hoi Shek Temple, Cheung Chau, Lamma Yung Shue Wan, Lantau Lantau, Chung Hom Kok, Ngau Chi Wan and Lei Yue Mun in Hong Kong. Since there are too many treasure caves, he has to use the secret book to keep notes.
The Taiping Mountain (Pulling Flag Mountain) in Xiangjiang is also a treasure hiding place, and there has always been a legend that there is a treasure of Zhang Baozai under the Taiping Mountain. Until the Republic of China, a Xinhui people came to Chawan, quietly asked an old man about the location of the stone boat on Qishan Mountain, the old man was suspicious, the Xinhui people explained the truth, it turned out that in Xinhui secretly passed a secret poem of Zhang Baozai - "The bow of the ship to live in Wuzhu Mountain, the stern to live in Guanghai Bay, with firewood dipped in vinegar, ten thousand taels of gold in between." ”
After hearing this, the old man was overjoyed, pointed out a wrong place to the Xinhui people, and immediately gathered people to rush to Pull the Flag Mountain. After they burned the stone boat red with firewood, they dipped it in vinegar, and the stone boat was immediately torn apart, but in the end there was no trace of gold and silver, so they had to return disappointed.
After the old man left, the Xinhui people, who had been following him, dug out 10,000 taels of gold under the anchor-shaped stone a few meters from the stern of the ship. It turned out that 10,000 taels of gold were hidden in the "anchorage", not "in between".
In fact, the treasure legends about Zhang Baozai are far more than that, Zhang Baozai in addition to these legends, there are many other legends, more are folk legends, those legends are true and false, most people take those legends as a fun, a few people still insist that it is true, looking for treasure all year round. (To be continued......)
