Chapter 008: The First Tower in the World

Zhou Mingluo's biggest neglect is because after discovering that the entire porcelain plate is a fake pieced together from the old and new porcelain, he only remembers to observe the chassis when observing, and ignores the overall structure.

When he suddenly remembered the overall shape of the porcelain plate, he realized that the plate seemed to be Yongle porcelain.

Ming Yongle porcelain, the inner wall of the plate, bowl and the bottom surface of the junction have a red vein, the center of the vessel is concave and convex, and the bottom is collapsed.

The Hongwen of this porcelain plate is hidden at the junction of the old and the new, and the Hongwen is used to cover a slight shallow mark at the junction of the old and the new.

This kind of porcelain patchwork process is also varied, the simplest kind of garlic juice can be done, for example, we break a porcelain bowl, if you put it back together, smear garlic juice on the broken place can also make it stick together, more practical than the general Shenma glue, as long as it is not soaked in water, it will not be broken.

At the moment, the patchwork of this porcelain is not garlic juice, because its cracks are not obvious, and it is difficult to see even with the naked eye, if he hadn't known that this was connected, even if Zhou Ming picked it up and played with it, he might not be able to find it, but at this moment, he didn't need to find it, and he relied on perspective to see through it at a glance before he picked it up.

However, counterfeiters can cover up cracks with red patterns, which is also an art, and it is really difficult to detect.

Once again, from the overall view, Zhou Mingluo looked at it more and more, and felt that the shape of the entire porcelain plate should belong to Yongle porcelain.

But there is a big problem in this, Yongle porcelain is collapsed, but the bottom of this plate is flat.

"This plate imitates Yongle porcelain, but the chassis is flat? If the whole is connected and then looked at carefully, it can be determined that this chassis should be Ming Yongle porcelain, but it is a flat bottom, is it not originally a porcelain plate? ”

If it's not a porcelain plate, what would it be?

Silently closed his eyes and thought about it, searching for all the knowledge about Yongle porcelain in his mind in the past.

In just a few seconds, Zhou Ming's eyelids jumped, and he finally remembered something.

Tile!

Flat and neat, ten centimeters of square blue and white porcelain, two or three centimeters thick, this is a tile.

Blue and white tiles? Thinking of blue and white tiles, Zhou Mingluo followed and remembered the tower of Bao'en Temple!!

He has been in the antique world for so long, especially in terms of porcelain, and he is still very impressed by this amazing giant tower, which is known as "the first tower in the world", "the great antique of China, the great kiln of Yongle", and the Great Wall, the Colosseum of ancient Rome, the underground mausoleum of ancient Alexander, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy.

After all, the tower is too famous.

Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang's fourth son, Zhu Di, was able to seize the world from his nephew, and he could be called a very bold person, and his surname was also happy and quiet, and he could be said to have done a lot of great things in his life.

The construction of the Forbidden City, now we can see the glorious Forbidden City complex in the capital, the beginning of the construction is the Yongle Emperor, and then the compilation of the "Yongle Canon", Zhu Yuanzhang created the Ming Dynasty to build the capital of Nanjing, but also set up the ancestral training not to move the capital, but the Yongle Emperor still does not care about this ancestral training, directly moved the capital to Yanjing.

This is undoubtedly something that can only be done by people with great courage, and then the organization of Zheng He's trip to the West, etc., has also written a lot of pen and ink in history.

In addition to these major events that many modern people are familiar with, Ming Yongle has also done two major things.

One of them is to make the Yangshan stele.

Speaking of this stele, I am afraid that modern people will be amazed, this is the Yongle Emperor in order to commemorate Zhu Yuanzhang set up the stele, in order to show his filial piety and maintain his orthodox status, he once dug out the Yangshan stele in Yiyang Mountain, Tangshan County, a suburb of Nanjing.

It's hard to imagine how big this stele is without being there, and if you can erect it, it will be more than 70 meters high, which is equivalent to the height of a 256-story building today.

The stele is divided into three parts, the stele body, the stele and the stele base, these three parts are still unable to stand in today's Yangshan. Even according to modern technology, it is impossible to stand up and combine these three terrifyingly large stone tablets, let alone the manpower of 600 years ago.

The total weight of Yangshan stele is estimated to be more than 30,000 tons, to hang more than 30,000 tons of things to the pedestal, and then put the stele on the stele, now can not be done, the result of the stele in Yongle Emperor after the excavation has become a big unfinished project, has been lying in Yangshan for more than 600 years.

You think, Emperor Yongle originally wanted to dig a stone tablet to commemorate Zhu Yuanzhang, show his filial piety to the world, and tell the world that he is still Zhu Yuanzhang's good son, even if he snatched the throne from his nephew, it is justifiable, in order to better consolidate a body of imperial power, but the monument is done but can't be erected, and it becomes an unfinished building, you can imagine how embarrassing and funny this kind of thing is.

It is precisely because of this that Yongle built Bao'en Temple and Bao'en Temple Tower in Nanjing.

It may even be that the Yangshan stele has not been excavated yet, and the Yongle Emperor has this premonition and guessed the possible results, so the construction of the Bao'en Temple Tower began before the Yangshan stele project was completed.

However, this tower is no longer just a memorial to Zhu Yuanzhang, but also includes his mother.

The entire Bao'en Temple tower is built in accordance with the standards of the imperial palace, and this tower cost 2.485 million taels of silver, and it took 19 years to complete under the supervision of Huang Ligong, the waiter of the Yongle Dynasty Ministry of Works, and Zheng He, the famous eunuch of the three guarantees, and more than 100,000 craftsmen were served.

The whole tower has nine floors and eight sides, with a height of about 78 meters, which is still comparable to the height of a twenty or thirty-story building in modern times.

It was the absolute tallest in Nanjing 600 years ago, and the whole tower body was made of white porcelain five-color glazed bricks, and each brick was engraved with Buddha statues and other patterns.

It is rumored that after the completion of the tower, there are 146 bonlights inside and outside the nine floors, each core is about one inch thick, during the day, this tower and the light are said; At night, it is spectacular. It is the only glazed pagoda recorded in the historical records in China at present, and its unique artistic value and ornamental value enjoy a high reputation at home and abroad, especially the wonderful glazed art of the tower, which represents the extremely high architectural and artistic achievements in Chinese history.

Zhang Dai of the Ming Dynasty once said in "Dream Memories of Tao'an", "China's great antiques, Yongle's great kilns, are also repaid to the Grace Tower." The pagoda of retribution was formed in the early years of Yongle, not the spirit of the founding of the country, the material resources of the founding of the country, the meritorious order of the founding of the country, its courage and wisdom, enough to swallow this tower, can not be successful. ”

Zhang Dai is a person of the Ming Dynasty, when this tower is still there, standing on the Yangtze River to come and go ships can be seen, if it is still today, it will definitely become one of the most important tourist attractions in China, but unfortunately, this "world's first tower", and the Great Wall, the Colosseum, the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy compared with the seven wonders of the medieval world, but was destroyed in the civil war of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. In 1856, Wei Changhui, the northern king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, was worried that the winged king Shi Dakai would occupy the glazed pagoda outside the city, and set up artillery to attack the city, and sent troops to dig tunnels under the tower to detonate explosives, and on the other hand, directly bombarded the tower with artillery, and finally turned the glazed pagoda into a pile of rubble, and the other buildings of Dabao'en Temple were also burned down by the fire caused by this.

However, although the tower was destroyed, there are still some things remaining, including some blue and white floor tiles scattered among the people.

Using blue and white to make floor tiles, this luxury is unprecedented, ancient and modern Chinese and foreign dare to do this to a Yongle Emperor.

This is also the courage of the Yongle Emperor!

This kind of blue and white floor tile was not known for a long time, and when people saw this floor tile, they would immediately mistake it for a remnant, like the center of a plate was cut off. Because the pattern on any one brick is incomplete, only multiple tiles connected can make up a complete pattern.

This is also why Zhou Mingluo initially mistakenly thought that the tile in his hand was a remnant. Even this tile was originally placed as a big oolong, which was combined with other porcelain to form a plate.

But after discovering the suspicions, Zhou Mingluo was completely surprised, he may have really guessed wrong, this is not a remnant, it is really a complete tile from the first tower in the world.

He has also seen the picture of this tile on the Internet, but he didn't think of it for a while, and now he thinks of these things Zhou Mingluo also tried to start recalling the picture of the tile, and pointed at the porcelain plate in his hand one by one, and then he was pleasantly surprised to find that the bottom of the porcelain plate in his hand is definitely a type of thing with the real blue and white floor tiles, which is extremely similar and close.

That's what made him completely excited.

"Blue and white floor tiles? Is this really the blue and white floor tiles from the world's first tower? And it still looks complete. If it's true, it's highly collectible. ”

At that time, it was impossible for the entire Bao'en Temple Tower to have only one floor tile, but that tower was destroyed, and there were definitely very few that could be passed into private hands. In this sense alone, this floor tile is a treasure.

Of course, this is far from being a national treasure, according to the historical records, the glazed tiles, glazed components and white tiles fired by the construction of this tower are in triplicate, one copy is used to build the tower, and the remaining two copies are buried in the ground, in case there is a defect, report to the Ministry of Engineering, and repair the accessories according to the number. Although the civil war of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom destroyed the already built pagoda, a large number of glazed components with ink script marks were unearthed near the original site of the pagoda in 1958, which are now in the collection of the Chinese History Museum, the Nanjing Museum and the Nanjing Museum.

If there are more things, the price will inevitably drop, but most of those are stored in museums, and for a single collector, it is still extremely exciting to be able to collect such a thing, and Zhou Mingluo is no exception, not to mention that after knowing that this may be a complete porcelain, it will be more conducive to him to let the Yellow Book absorb the [Wen Qi].

Who dares to say that a complete blue and white tile from the world's first tower has no humanistic and artistic crystallization?
