Chapter 155: Arrival

We often say that everything is like a dream, and we usually use dreams and illusions as metaphors to describe life as a dream. Actually, fantasy is a real realm, and if you study it carefully, there is a way to it. In fact, when people say that life is like a dream, it is just an occasional sigh when they are in pain and trouble, and they do not really regard life as a dream. In Buddhism, there is the practice of dream fulfillment, to control one's dreams, to dream by oneself, or not to dream. It is not easy to train one's spirit to this point, and ordinary people can't do it, and they can't be the master. Those who have gone through formal practice can do it. After you do it, you have to change your dreams, dream of water, and turn water into flowers, can you do it? Knowing in a dream that you are dreaming is already a difficult step.

Some people like to cultivate their minds and surnames, and they can control themselves during the day, but reason exceeds emotions, and they want to lose their temper and stop saying this, which is not easy. Even if a student of Buddhism says the precepts, they must keep the precepts in their body, mouth, and mind, and the precepts are to manage and control themselves rationally. The theory says so, but when it comes to the bone, what is to be said is still said, and the temper that is going to be lost is still made. After losing his temper, alas! Shame, repentance, however, there is no real shame, no real repentance, just words. If you can make decisions during the day, and you can chant the Buddha at any time, you may not be reliable in your dreams. Ordinary people can't call the shots in dreams, and they don't know that there are dreams. If you can make decisions in your dreams, your cultivation will be a bit decent. Further, open your eyes to dream, open your eyes to dream, you don't need to do anything else to open your eyes to dream, and now the life in front of you is like in a dream, and the joy, anger, sorrow, happiness, and right, wrong, good, and evil in real life have nothing to do with you. Then, when the dream realm is emptied, the whole world is pure and bright, not just a theory, and you have to practice in this way to be sure.

The thoughts of our minds, every thought, each thought is connected, the first thought has passed, the second thought you don't have to think about it, it will naturally arise, and it will continue to flow. You say I don't want to sleep anymore, I really don't think about it? No, it's still thinking about it, dreaming is thinking, some dreams you know, and there are many dreams that you forget when you wake up, thinking that there are no dreams, no thoughts, it's not right. Even the state of sleep is the mind, and if all of us sentient beings don't have the habit of sleeping, if we don't have the thought of sleeping, we won't have the phenomenon of sleeping. The phenomenon of sleep is also a thought, and this thought also comes from ignorance. Therefore, the great arhats and great bodhisattvas who have truly attained enlightenment and enlightenment have cut off this thought, and they don't have to sleep. You said that the psychological phenomenon of our people is the continuum of thoughts and thoughts, which is like flowing water one after another, and the same is true of troubles, which cannot be stopped if you want to, and the water flows even more when you draw a knife and cut off the water. This 'cycle' is like going around in circles, coming and going, going and coming.

'Enlightened and enlightened' means that when you are meditating and reciting the Buddha, while you are reciting, you are looking at your thoughts in your heart to see if there are any distracting thoughts, but this is only the beginning of enlightenment. Doing kung fu really reaches the realm of enlightenment, and he is still enlightened in his dreams; True practitioners' thoughts in dreams are as clear as when they are usually awake, and they are able to do the Lord. I don't dare to think about bad things during the day, and when I come out in my dreams, I can't do it, and this kind of practice is useless. Even if you can be the master in your dreams, you have to go one step further and achieve the realm of dreamlessness, and you can still know the root of your heart in your sleep, which is the realm of illumination and enlightenment. Being able to reach this state is only the preliminary stage of the bodhisattva realm, and in terms of Yuanjue's own surname, there is still an obstacle to enlightenment, which is why 'the bodhisattva often does not feel it, and the one who shines with it will die at the same time'.

Therefore, the great bodhisattvas who have really ascended above the earth often do not feel it. Constant awakening, always in the midst of wakefulness, this enlightenment is Bodhi, and Bodhi is enlightenment. If you always have a sense of enlightenment, you don't dare to move, you don't feel it at all, then you have a dwelling, not a dwelling, and the true bodhisattva realm is a constant state of non-awareness, not a state of awakening, and you don't hold a realm of enlightenment, and you have a realm of enlightenment. The six ancestors of Zen Buddhism became enlightened because of the phrase in the Diamond Sutra, "The mind should be born without dwelling". 'Should have no place to live and give birth to its mind' is a method of cultivation, if we talk about the state of enlightenment, it should be changed to 'give birth to its mind without dwelling', after realizing the Tao, it means that there is no place to live, this mind has no place to live, things come and should be, and the past is not left. 'Illuminator and illuminator', the first illuminator is able to illuminate, and the following illuminator is illuminated, for example, delusion is illuminated. Being able to shine and what is illuminated, disappearing at the same time, and being empty at the same time, this is the state of enlightenment.

Whether walking, living, sitting, lying, at any time and in any place, you are clear about your own thoughts, and even when you are sleeping, your dreams are also clear. Furthermore, in a dream, you can also be the master, change a mountain to play and conjure up a mountain, in this way, the cultivation can be regarded as a slight achievement, and when you die, you will not be confused, you will not be led away by karma, and if you want to be reborn in the Western Elysium, you will go as soon as you move your mind.

When it comes to dreaming, there is an interesting story about a friend who studied Zen together, and his wife also wanted to learn together, and he was very delicate and tormented her husband, loved her husband very much, and tortured her husband with affection. One day she came to see our Teacher Yuan, and Teacher Yuan was very unkind to her, wiped her beard, and asked her, 'What are you doing here?' ''I came with Jian Qiu (her husband's name) and wanted to take me as an apprentice. Teacher Yuan raised his eyebrows and tilted his head, and said, "I don't accept women here!" We saw it next to us, worried about death, don't go back to take sleeping pills! Hurry up and send her out, 'Sister-in-law! Don't be sad! That's how the gentleman's temper is. ''I'm not sad, I'm not sad. She had a good attitude.

When she returned home, she was angry, what's the big deal with this bad old man, put on a stinky shelf, I'll become a Buddha and show you! So, make your own futon and sit up. I worked hard, ate less, slept less, wanted to become a Buddha immediately, endured the leg pain, and after a few days, I fell ill and had a high fever. It just happened that there was no money at home, and her husband was anxious and didn't know what to do? I had to stay next to my wife and ask Guanyin Bodhisattva for help. Usually ask him to recite the Buddha, and he won't do it to death. Now that his wife was sick and his family had no money, he had to recite the Buddha, and he recited the holy name of Avalokiteshvara for five hours.

At dawn, his wife sat up suddenly, grabbed her husband's hand and said, 'Jianqiu! I believed. This startled my friend, who thought she had a high fever, burned too much, and went crazy. Ask her, 'What did you believe?' She said, 'You are a bodhisattva, and your teacher is a Buddha.' Such an answer is even more inexplicable. 'What's wrong?' How do you say that? She said: 'I am well from my illness.' When he said this, he was reassured. 'So what's going on?' His wife said: 'I am so sick!' It's so painful! I told you to bring me water to drink, and when I saw that your whole body was full of golden light, and the golden light came upon me, it was cool, and the pain was gone, and then I fell asleep. When I woke up, the fever had subsided and I was cured. That's why you are a bodhisattva. The next day, my friend came to Vimo Monastery to tell everyone, and everyone laughed, and Mr. Yuan laughed too, and everyone waited to see what happened to her next.

She continued to work hard and meditate every day. One night she had a dream, and she knew she was going to dream, so let it be! She thought to herself: Okay, you have to dream! Just dream big and go to the Western Elysium. As soon as her thoughts moved, she saw a big Buddha, shining brightly, and she knelt down and kowtowed to the Buddha. She said that while she kowtowed, she was still thinking in her heart: Teacher Yuan! You bad old man! Well! I see the Buddha now. She said to the Buddha, 'O Buddha! If you want to save me, I'm going to go back and compare myself with the old man. Amitabha smiled at her, and without saying anything to her, he said to her, 'Are you hungry?' ''That's right!'' I am hungry. And a table came out of the floor, and there was everything delicious. After eating, the Buddha asked her, 'What else do you want to see when you come here?' She said, 'O Buddha! Do you have any dancing here? The Buddha said, 'Yes! The Buddha compared his hands, and immediately a group of beautiful women came out, and those women were so beautiful! She said I couldn't compare to them. After watching the dance, the Buddha smiled at her again, and she asked the Buddha, 'O Buddha! Do you have any movies here? The Buddha said, 'Yes! Soon the movie screen came out, anyway, you have what you want to see. After a while, she thought, "I'm dreaming, don't dream for too long, if my husband thinks I'm dead, it's not good to carry me to bury me." So she knelt down and said to the Buddha, 'Thank you! I'm going back. The Buddha said, 'All right, go back!' ’

Before the story was over, she said goodbye to Amitabha Buddha and walked home. On the way home, I saw a pile of graves, and out of the grave came a female ghost, who was very vicious and wanted to arrest her. She quickly meditated, settled her mind, and said to the female ghost: 'Don't arrest me, whether there is injustice, hatred, love or hate, I have just returned from Amitabha, and when I become a Buddha, I will take you to the Western Elysium, and besides, I like to be beautiful, you are so ugly, I am not afraid of you. When she said this, the female ghost went back to the grave in shame.

Then she moved on. Not long after leaving, a male ghost came out, this male ghost was so beautiful, more beautiful than all the men she had seen before, teasing her in every way, she knew in her heart that this male ghost was the female ghost changed, she told this ghost: 'You don't come to this set, I just came back from the Western Elysium, I've seen everything good, you can't charm me.' At this time, this beautiful male ghost suddenly turned into a blue-faced and tooth-picking ghost, which frightened her, she ran hard, ran to the house, ran to the front of the house, stepped on a pedal, rolled, rolled onto the bed, and broke out in a cold sweat.

She woke up like this, and when she woke up, she sat up for a long time, and saw that her husband was still sleeping, so she shook him up. Her husband asked her, 'What are you doing?' ―, 'I realize!' Her husband said: 'Don't get nervous.' She said: 'I really realize.' Her husband saw that she was so serious and said, 'What's the matter?' Tell me about it. She said, 'I am also the one who dreamed, Amitabha Buddha is also me, the Western realm is also me, the female ghost is also me, the male ghost is also me, and the terrible ghost is also me.' I love you to death, in fact, it is I who love myself. From now on, I don't love you anymore, and we will be Taoist friends from now on. I'm not fooled by myself anymore. ’

Her husband was very happy to hear this, and told her, 'Well, you really understand, and now I am also free, and to be honest, you love me so much, I can't stand being pestered by you.' Now that you have come to your senses, I am glad that I have come to take refuge in you. And her husband kowtowed to her in bed. Early the next morning, the two of them went to see Teacher Yuan together, Teacher Yuan was also strange, as soon as she entered the door, she was asked to kneel down and kowtow three times, now I will accept you as an apprentice. She said, 'Teacher Yuan, it's useless if you don't accept me today, I have already made up my mind, and I will kowtow to you as soon as I enter the door'. Teacher Yuan said, 'Okay! Good! I know it all. ’

We told a story of dreaming. If you can be the master in your dreams, you can be sure of life and death. Therefore, between walking, living, sitting, and lying, I know the number of distinctions in my heart. If you don't know a thought, you are drowsy and ignorant. So, every day you are in ignorance, in a daze, not the tantric hutuktu, but the muddy. How is this possible? It must be all-encompassing, clear.

We see that the nouns such as dreams and empty flowers in Buddhist scriptures are often regarded as metaphors for the realm, and they are not actually verified. If we can experience that the current life is also illusory, then it is a bit decent to study Buddhism, otherwise, it is useless to study Buddhism if we can experience that the dream and empty flower of the Buddhist scriptures are modified adjectives, or to study Buddhism as a theory.

In other words, we should be realistic in our study of Buddhism. Knowledge, whether in the world or out of the world, will not exist forever if it is not related to our physical and mental life and has no benefit. All the learning and sects of the world. Teachings are closely related to our lives, especially the Buddhist scriptures, which can be said to be the most realistic, and they exist specifically to get rid of our troubles. ”

In fact, you may understand these, maybe you don't understand it yet, but it doesn't matter! Since the Dream Stone is in your hands, it is naturally inevitable to deal with dream controllers in the future, and many dream controllers, especially masters, are bald donkeys, so you will understand in the future.

And there is a sentence that you say a lot, dreams, in fact, are nothing, but they are nothing, just a trace of ** in our hearts! ”

Nodding as if he didn't understand, Wu Ling began to doubt his IQ: "Actually, why do you say it so mysteriously and mysteriously, you just need to tell me how to unravel this dream!" ”

The old man smiled slightly: "If you want to solve the dream, it's actually very simple, just find the trigger!" ”

"What trigger?" Wu Ling asked.

"This trigger is not in you, nor in me, but in the Dream Stone, because the Dream Controller's energy comes from the dream source, so if the Dream Stone wants to obtain energy, it must devour the Dream Controller's energy, because the Dream Stone is in contact with the Dream Controller, so there is the current situation!" The old man finally told the ultimate reason.
