Chapter 316: Controlling the Field
"Wow, I seem to see Daniel 20 years later, still so personable."
"I love you no matter how old you are."
"My God, Daniel, do you have to be so bad with yourself, can't you play some handsome roles? Even if you go to play "Brokeback Mountain", it's okay. β
By the time Daniel saw the comments, it had been three or four days after filming had begun, and Sally pulled him to the computer.
"You need to see what your fans are saying, look at this, 'There are only a few good years in life, Daniel, why should you live up to it, when you're old, you can naturally play this kind of role, shouldn't you play some Jason now. Byrne or Mark. Vaughn's character?' β
Sally pointed to Daniel with a rather sad comment, "Look how angry you have made your fans." β
Justin. Quay's styling photo is not particularly "bad", wearing a shirt and trousers, but Daniel's style is relatively old-fashioned, with fine wrinkles on his forehead and the corners of his eyes, and the color of his skin is delicate and delicate after working in the office for a long time, but it lacks vitality and luster, and his eyes are calm.
"Do you look like you're 40?"
"Almost, if it's well maintained, it's a 45-year-old who can say the past."
Daniel nodded, "It turned out to be good, at least the people who said I wasn't the right age should shut up this time." β
"It's hard to imagine that you are so naΓ―ve in Hollywood." Sally found an account that was a key member of the "Daniel Opposition" with thousands of followers.
"Looking at Daniel's styling photos in "The Immortal Gardener", it is simply full of coercion and contrived embarrassment, and makeup and photo editing cannot hide his youth and immaturity at all. Does he expect such an image to make bright-eyed fans admit it? I'm never going to go to the cinema for that. β
The comments below this update, mostly by members of Daniel's opposition, pandered to his claims. But occasionally, there are lone heroes who rush in and kill all sides, and their tongues are black.
"My opposition is so big?"
As Daniel gets busier, he can update his social accounts as often as he does, but it's hard to keep track of everything as he used to. But Sally and Triver will help him with that.
"It's bigger than you think." Sally looked relaxed, "But don't worry about this at all, usually we look at whether a person is popular enough, not the number of followers on his personal account." Again, depending on the size of his opposition - this criterion is very useful, in fact, research shows that an out-of-fashion star is less likely to attract criticism. β
"Whose research?"
"Sally Triver Institute."
"Wow, it's a big name. I would like to visit when I have time. β
β¦β¦
"It's a scene that will be arranged in the first place, it's the first time Justin and Tessa meet, you're giving a report, and she's angrily chasing you to ask questions......"
"And then we got together?"
Daniel looked at the script in his hand, a little toothache, and looked up at Fernando, who was talking to him: "To be honest, this logic is a bit blunt. β
"Do you need any foreshadowing to get together? Aren't Americans on the streets looking for mating partners every day? β
"Brazilian, you're discriminating and malicious."
Fernando wasn't impressed by his new nickname, "Tessa is getting more and more excited, and you need to step up. And thenβ"
"Take advantage of the situation...... Enter? β
Daniel added an accent to the last word.
"Okay, okay, you say, you say."
Fernando glared at him fiercely, after the filming officially began, both parties began to get to know each other again, Fernando is not as cynical as the subject he is good at, and Daniel is not as high as his reputation, on the contrary, both of them are good at bickering, strongmen who enliven the atmosphere, so the scene is always full of such "no big or small" disputes.
ββ¦β¦ Ugh"
"Just now you said I'm going to 'stand out'. And then 'in' or something. β
Rachel stood aside and gave him a blank look.
"When you come forward, you need to make your personal stance clear β it's a necessary foreshadowing, explaining what you're going to do, and I don't need to go into more detail."
Daniel and Rachel nodded.
"The actors are in place. Filming will start immediately, so please pay attention. β
It was a group scene where Justin ended a public speech with dozens of people listening to him, and this kind of scene was difficult to film, because one person's lack of cooperation could lead to a reshoot of the entire scene.
"Sharon. You follow Daniel. β
Sirloin. Adams reaches out from behind the camera and makes an "OK" gesture.
After filming "Love Collapses" and "Social Network", Sharloin. Adams finally became the chief cinematographer, and Fernando did not dispute this, basically, what qualifications are there to be picky about a member of an Oscar-nominated camera team with a budget of only 15 million. The Chief Cinematographer of The Social Network, Jeff. Cologne Weiss was nominated for an Oscar, and as a key member of the photography team, Sirloin certainly received a terrific credential.
Involving Sharloin in this project, rather than "When Happiness Knocks" or the sequels to "Chainsaw" and "The Hangover," is entirely because Daniel wanted Sharon's tactile footage to add some power to The Immortal Gardener.
In fact, "The Immortal Gardener" had some problems with editing, and Fernando wanted to show the absurdity of the whole story in this way, but did it too much, not on a lack of skill. The editor of the original film is Claire. Simpson, in the eighties as Oliver. Stone's dedicated editor, indeed, was quite convincing, but he went overboard with "The Immortal Gardener," which is why he was able to nominate but was ultimately disappointed, and Daniel hired the elder Draco Sr. as a consultant for the film - the old man was reluctant to continue to work, but was willing to offer some help. Luckily, Claire didn't express her displeasure with this, and in fact, the two-time Oscar Editing Award winner took the wheel for him, which is a rare good thing.
Transform the film in terms of shots, editing, and then reinforce the main line in the shooting, and the film will be very different.
Jeffrey. Kane's script was too even, and while they were discussing the story, John's original wanted to say a lot. Love, shady, betrayal, awakening, accusation...... Wait a minute. When Jeffrey puts all the brains into the script, it's easy to have the problem of egalitarianism, everything is mentioned, everything is expressed. But there is no main line.
It's hard to get a thread out of this story.
Because conceptually, shady deals are higher than love and detectives, but in terms of expression, in order to avoid making this film a documentary, there must be something else. For example, love.
The original movie actually has a very good main plot.
On the way to find the cause of Tessa's death, Justin discovers Tessa's love for him, and thus sublimates his love for Tessaβa remarkable process: from dewy marriage, to suspicion, to heart-to-heart, this is a complete story. Then the shady curtain is attached to the main line, and the poverty of Kenya is expressed in a certain paragraph.
Daniel approves of the design, and Fernando and Jeffrey eventually find a solution to the shortcomings of the original book, but it's not enough.
Some of the content is a little more distinctive, such as the fact that the original film repeatedly shows the poverty of the Kibera slums, which is somewhat dragged. Daniel invites Sharon. Adams joined. I hope that he can show this content through more powerful pictures, so that the point of reducing poverty is the focus of the whole film.
"Forming a fist with an outstretched hand is more expressive and sharper."
This "Immortal Gardener" gathers a better team, and it is naturally better than the original.
β¦β¦
Several assistant directors were directed to the regiment, and everything was ready.
ββ¦β¦ We need to provide assistance to a country that may be threatened by other countries, which is the mark of civilization...... On a personal note, I would like to thank all of you for listening to me. β
"I have questions, wait, wait."
"Uh-oh, huh?"
"Hmm. What I want to ask is whose map is it that you can use so that you can invade Iraq-"
"I'm sorry, but I can't answer questions on behalf of Bernard."
"Can't? So what are you here for? β
"I mean, diplomats need to be on orders"
"Same as a dog?"
Look through Sharon's lens. Daniel ended his speech gently, his eyebrows softened and his smile retracted, more in line with everyone's perception of a diplomat than a White House spokesman. When Tessa began to speak, he listened intently and replied politely. But a slight frown. and his eyes were much brighter than just now, indicating that he was vigilant.
When alluded to as a "dog", the diplomat let out an exclamation, aptly indicating his discomfort with foul language.
The whole shot is very smooth, which is not a particularly important scene, especially for Daniel, but it is clear that he uses a fairly complete and rich performance to avoid becoming Rachel's foil - the aggressive Tessa has more room for performance, with ups and downs in tone, movements, interactions with the surroundings, line content, etc., all helping Rachel to create a female image who is enthusiastic about the cause of world justice.
Rachel's performance was perfect.
Daniel's response is sophisticated and calm enough not to affect Tessa's character proclamation - a very smart and powerful performance.
"It lives up to its name."
The so-called ordinary is true, Danny. Houston stood on the Fernand polygon, looking at the images from the different cameras from the monitors β the images transmitted in real time were not particularly clear because of the limited network speed.
Fernando didn't speak, looking at the image coming from Sharon's lens.
Behind Justin was an empty space - he would later put the view from London behind him.
"Listen to her, she has the right to express her opinion......"
The scene that began to stir up was heard in a calm, slightly higher voice as usual, and Justin stretched out his right hand, put his four fingers together, like a knife, and swung it in the air.
The group of actors immediately calmed down.
Rachel's voice suddenly became distinct.
She spoke fiercely and urgently, her eyes, tone, and even her hair expressing anger.
However, all this can easily be understood as "being given the right to speak", so the scene is chaotic but not disorderly - it does not make people feel uneasy about watching the movie.
Daniel is in control!
Fernando took a silent breath in his heart - now he was going to start worrying about Daniel suppressing Rachel's play, and hopefully he could keep it under control. (To be continued.) )
