Prologue (above), Qili Mountain Pond, a roll of painted smoke
As the saying goes, "there is heaven above, and there is Suzhou and Hangzhou below", Suzhou and Hangzhou, which have been known as paradise on earth since ancient times, are more or less related to a great poet in the Tang Dynasty.
In the fourth year of Changqing in the Tang Dynasty, Bai Juyi, who was the assassin of Hangzhou at the time, mobilized the people to build water conservancy, build dikes and sluices, and dredge the West Lake. Near the stone culvert bridge outside the Qiantang Gate, there used to be a embankment named Baigong Embankment, which is no longer there. The beautiful scenery of the West Lake has been beautiful for thousands of years, and later generations will take the white sand embankment on the lake as a place to commemorate Bai Juyi, so that many people mistakenly think that the white embankment of the West Lake is the Baigong embankment of the year.
Bai Juyi is famous for his poetry and writing, and as for his private life, various reviews in later generations have received mixed reviews. However, among the poets and writers of the Tang Dynasty, the officials benefited one party, developed the people's livelihood economy, built farmland and water conservancy and left a thousand-year-old beauty, which is still benefiting the local area, promoting the prologue (above), Qili Shantang, painting a roll of people and a roll of business prosperity and tourism developers, Bai Juyi is second to none.
The white causeway of the West Lake is still there, the ancient Baigong Causeway outside the Qiantang Gate no longer exists, and there is a Baigong Causeway in the south of the Yangtze River that has been preserved to this day, which is today's famous spot in Suzhou, Qili Shantang Street from Changmen to Tiger Hill.
In the second year after the construction of the dam and the dredging of the West Lake, that is, in the first year of the Tang Dynasty, Bai Juyi bid farewell to Hangzhou and transferred to Suzhou to assassinate the history. When Bai Juyi arrived, he went to Tiger Hill, where King Wu was buried in Lu, to pay homage to the ancients, and saw that the local rivers were congested and the waterways were not smooth, so he found craftsmen and officials to measure and design, and raised funds from merchants to mobilize people to dig a mountain pond river.
This river starts from the Changmen Monk Bridge in the east, reaches the Tiger Hill Wangshan Bridge in the west, the total length is more than seven miles, and a lively and prosperous Shantang Street is formed along the river, also known as the Seven Mile Street.
The geographical location of Shantang River excavation is very good, not only conducive to drainage and irrigation, but also convenient waterway transportation, as soon as the Shantang Street near the river appears, it has become the place where Suzhou's commercial and cultural scenery gathers, the descendants also call Shantang Street as the Baigong Embankment, and stand the Baigong Temple at the head of the monk bridge outside the Changmen.
The beautiful scenery of Suzhou and Hangzhou, the combination of natural landscape and artificial ingenuity, but Bai Juyi did not stay for a long time, the Shantang River has just opened, the prologue (above), the seven miles of Shantang, the painting of a roll of smoke is convenient for leaving in the autumn of the following year. In the first month of the year before leaving office, Bai Juyi climbed the mountain and looked at Gusu City from afar, and he wrote a poem.
The warbler at the mouth of the Yellow Bird Lane wants to speak, and the ice at the head of the Black Magpie River wants to be sold.
Green waves, east, west, north and south, red fence 390 bridges.
The mandarin ducks ripple their wings, and the willows add tens of thousands.
By asking the spring breeze to come sooner or later, only from the day before yesterday to today.
……
When Bai Juyi was chanting poetry in the pavilion on the mountain, he didn't find that there were two immortals halfway up the mountain looking at the Qili mountain pond outside the city. They were a man and a woman, with wide robes and large sleeves and silk silk at the waist, whose names were Qiaosanren; The tall and graceful person with cloud temples and graceful temples is Qiao Sanren's Taoist friend Liu Fairy, these two immortals are from the fairy world Wanshou Mountain, and they traveled through the red dust and stopped outside Gusu City.
The willow fairy slowly unfolded a scroll, about a foot high and nearly four feet long, but there was nothing on it. I only heard her sigh softly: "This volume was made when the bright moon fairy child walked through the red dust and passed by Gusu, without pen and ink, the reflection of the mountains and rivers in the world under the moon was condensed into a painting, but there was no trace left." ”
Qiao Sanren also sighed: "When the bright moon fairy condensed this painting into a scroll, the Qingfeng fairy boy was beside him, stretched out his fingers to hide the traces in the scroll, and drew a door on it with ** force, and since then the mountains and rivers in the painting have become a world of their own. ”
Fairy Liu frowned slightly and said: "In this painting, I don't understand, what kind of mountains and rivers are it?" ”
Qiao Sanren thought for a moment, pointed to the bottom of the mountain and said: "This is the scene of people, what you see in front of you is the boundary in the painting." ”
Fairy Liu was puzzled: "But this Shantang River has just been chiseled, a hundred years ago when the Bright Moon Fairy Child painted, there was no such river in the world, could there be in the painting?" ”
Qiao Sanren smiled slightly: "Maybe there is, maybe not, this painting is made of people in the landscape, and Qingfeng Xiantong paints a door with ** force, which is to confirm the way of derivation." The landscapes and people enclosed in the painting are all imaginary scenes, but they can change with the extravagance of the people outside the painting, just like the reflection in the water, I wonder what kind of scenery will be there in a thousand years? ”
Fairy Liu nodded and said: "I understand, if someone can see this painting in another thousand years, although it was made by Mingyue Fairy Boy a thousand years ago, the scenery in the painting is Gusu at that time, no matter whether that person has come to Suzhou or not, no matter where this painting goes." It's just that the traces of the paintings in this volume have been hidden, and even you and I can't see them. ”
Qiao Sanren smiled bitterly: "Don't say that you and I can't see it, even the Qingfeng Patriarch himself who sealed the realm into the painting can't see it, this thing is just a momentary thought of him." The door on the painting is not condensed into the painting, but just a spell, and after a thousand years, when the mana is gone, the painting will reappear. If the painting traces at that time have become the Gusu landscape thousands of years later, it means that the way of the Qingfeng Patriarch has been completed that year, and it is not under the Zhenyuan Patriarch. ”
Fairy Liu sighed again and said: "It's a pity that the breeze has dispersed and the bright moon has not returned, even if the paintings in this volume reappear in the world after a thousand years, it can prove that the way of derivation of the Qingfeng Fairy Child a hundred years ago is no longer under the Zhenyuan Great Immortal, what can it be?" When Patriarch Qingfeng sealed this painting, did he think that he himself would have died a hundred years later? ”
Qiao Sanren shook his head and said: "This is not what I know, Qingfeng Patriarch left such a picture scroll in a moment's thought, it is just a kind of cultivation as a confirmation. As for the picture itself, it is dispensable. ”
Fairy Liu pondered: "The three great ancestors of Wanshou Mountain, I don't know much about Mingyue Fairy, and Zhenyuan and Qingfeng are both very good at derivation, but I heard that Qingfeng Patriarch can't paint at all?" ”
Qiao Sanren smiled: "Qingfeng Fairy Child really doesn't know how to paint, and he is not good at singing, the painting in this volume is originally made by the Bright Moon Fairy Child's landscape and people, he just sealed the realm with the technique of deduction into the painting." ”
Fairy Liu turned to look at Qiao Sandao: "You also practice the art of derivation, but you can't compare with the two ancestors, but in Wanshou Mountain, you are famous for being good at painting, why don't you paint with this volume and feel the artistic conception of the year?" ”
Qiao Sanren narrowed his eyes as if thinking about something, and when he opened his eyes, he already had an extra pen in his hand, and muttered: "This Qunfang pen in my hand was given by the bright moon fairy boy back then, so I used this pen to paint, depicting the scenery of the mountain pond in front of me, so that when the paintings in the volume reappear after a thousand years." Since the breeze has dispersed and the bright moon has not returned, this painting will remain in the world. ”
After speaking, the willow fairy scroll and Qiao Sanren painted with a pen of Qunfang, depicting the scenery of the newly excavated Qili Mountain Pond. After the painting was completed, Qiao Sanren waved his hand, and the painting floated to the sky and did not know where it fell in the world.
……
After Bai Juyi resigned from Suzhou and Qiao Sanren made Shantang rolls, more than 600 years passed, and it was the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty.
At this time, Suzhou Shantang Street, after the vicissitudes of war and several rises and falls, is far more prosperous than in the past. There are many shops along the river, guild halls gathered, mountains of goods, and tourists and merchants. The boats on the Shantang River are constantly coming and going, and the sound of oars is mixed with the sound of silk and bamboo singing. This river shuttles between merchant ships during the day, and after nightfall, the lanterns and painting boats float, which is the rich and elegant place in the red dust.
It was late in the night, and the singing of the boat's strings gradually faded away, except for the tiny reflection of the boat's lanterns in the water. The shops along the street have long been on the door panels, only the lanterns with the names of each house are still hanging in front of the mansion, and there is no one on Shantang Street, which has been noisy all day.
At the many bridgeheads next to the stone street of this embankment, I don't know what age a squatting stone beast statue was placed, about half a person high, like a lion, a tiger, a cat, and a raccoon. The appearance of this stone beast is not vicious, but it is silly and cute with a smile. In the dead of night, it seems that only these stone beasts are still silently guarding the Qili Shantang River.
At this moment, both on the shore and in the boat, the sleeping people heard a broken cry: "The demon is gone!" ”
A figure came quickly from the direction of Wangshan Bridge, and walked along Shantang Street towards Changmen without touching the ground, the shiny bald head was faintly recognizable under the lantern light, and the face was a middle-aged monk. The gray monk's robe on his body was torn open several times, and it was stained with mottled blood.
The monk walked through the Shantang Street at a very fast speed, and every time he passed a stone beast statue, he waved his right hand and punched a spell that was silently printed on the stone beast's forehead. In the blink of an eye, he had crossed the Qili Mountain Pond and arrived in front of the Monk Bridge, and a sword light flew in the direction of Tiger Hill in the distance. The monk gritted his teeth and threw a piece of jade pendant in his left hand into the Shantang River.
This jade pendant is about one inch wide and two inches long, carved with a bamboo branch on the front, and engraved with a cloud flower pattern on the back, similar to the outline of a drop-shaped, and the size is just right to hold in the palm of the hand. It fell into the river without causing the slightest ripple, as if it strangely blended into the reflection waves, and the people chasing it from a distance did not notice.
When throwing out the jade pendant, the monk did not stop at the slightest step, but jumped onto the water and ran between the painting boats, and entered Suzhou City through the water gate on the side of the gate. The sword light chased after it, and flew over the city wall into the city. The sleeping people were awakened by the sound of the snort, and the monk and the sword light that followed behind had disappeared without a trace.
The monk seemed to have left something on Shantang Street, and he was chased too closely at that time, and he planned to come back to pick it up later. But a year passed, ten years passed, a hundred years passed, and he never came back.
……
More than 200 years passed after the strange monk left, and it was during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty.
On this day, in an old study in the western suburbs of Beijing, the three words "Xueqinju" were written on the plaque in the room, and a scribe in a green shirt was writing at the desk. His name is Cao Zhan, and he is writing down—
"On that day, the land fell into the southeast, and there was a place called Gusu in this southeast corner, and there was a city called Changmen, which was the most rich and elegant place in the red dust. There is a ten-mile street outside this gate, there is a Renqing lane in the street, there is an ancient temple in the lane, because the place is narrow and narrow, people call it the gourd temple......"
Cao Xueqin's "Dream of Red Mansions" mentioned at the beginning that there is such a street outside the gate of Gusu Changmen, which is the most first- and second-class rich and elegant place in the red dust, and there is a gourd temple in the street. Where is this gourd temple? Of course, the novelist said that there is no need to delve into it, and the gourd temple in the book has been destroyed in a fire. But today, more than 300 years later, there is really such a "gourd temple" on the bustling Shantang Street outside the Changmen Gate in Suzhou.
In the summer of 2012, in Suzhou* City, Jiangsu Province, People's Republic of China, Qili Shantang Street has become a tourist scenic spot. This street is built near the river, the waterway is vertical and horizontal, and there are many ancient bridges walking on the stone road, among which there are two adjacent bridges, one is called Qingshan Bridge, and the other is called Green Water Bridge. Between this Qingshan Bridge and the Green Water Bridge, there is a newly built temple called Pufu Temple.
According to the tourist attractions of Pufu Temple, this small temple is the prototype of the gourd temple written by Cao Xueqin. For this "research", many people questioned and even abused on the Internet, believing that it was a gimmick of the local government to organize the "brick family" to fool tourists.
However, it should be noted that the "prototype" in creation and the "original site" in historical research are completely different concepts. For example, Jia Baoyu in "Dream of Red Mansions", no one can deny that he has the shadow of Cao Xueqin on his body, and it can even be said that Cao Xueqin is one of Jia Baoyu's character prototypes, but it has been artistically processed.
Cao Xueqin is not Jia Baoyu in "Dream of Red Mansions", and the Pufu Temple on Shantang Street is certainly not the gourd temple in "Dream of Red Mansions". But creation is not out of thin air, the portrayal of customs and customs must be related to the author's experience, Cao Xueqin mentioned the street outside the gate of Gusu City, the temple on the side of the street, the book inadvertently carries the reflection of the world's landscapes and people.
Pufu Temple was built in the Song Dynasty, the temple is narrow and narrow only before and after two entrances, the middle is a patio, the whole pattern is gourd-shaped, although it is not big, but once the incense was extremely prosperous. Destroyed during the Great Leap Forward in the late 50s, the temple was rebuilt in 2008 by the local government, and it was rebuilt 50 years after it was destroyed, becoming a scenic spot on Shantang Street. It doesn't matter if it's a gourd temple or not a gourd temple, it appears there.
Many tourists who come to Shantang Street for the first time, when they see the introduction of the attractions in front of the temple, they usually show doubts, frowning and thinking: "Oh, this is the gourd temple mentioned in the Dream of Red Mansions?" , it must be fooling! Dream of Red Mansions is a novel, how can there really be this temple? ”
There are also some people who are more impressed by the original work of "A Dream of Red Mansions", and may explain it to their companions on the spot with a smug face, saying in a tone that seems to be righteous indignation or mockery: "How many times have I read "Dream of Red Mansions", that ten-mile street is a homonym for snobbery; Renqing Lane is a homonym of human affection, Cao Xueqin clearly writes about Snobbery Street and Human Affection Lane, how can it be related to this Suzhou Shantang Street? ”
Often, there will be companions who echo him: "Yes, that's it, 'brick family', boring politicians!" Coming up with this kind of thing to fool people...... Pathetic! While shaking his head and sighing, there was a sense of satisfaction in his expression that he was consciously aware of his superiority.
This scene is often staged in front of the Pufu Temple, such as today, and another group of people are here to make this discussion. At this time, a young man came from the direction of Qingshan Bridge, he held a very beautiful girl, followed by a young man with a travel bag, stopped in front of the Pufu Temple and looked at the introduction of tourist attractions. This person also heard the discussion of others, just smiled stupidly, and said to himself: "It turns out that Cao Xueqin has also been here, but this temple is not that temple, hehehe, it's really interesting!" ”
This young man is in his twenties, with a small flat head, and his facial features are not bad, but he always has a silly smile on his face, and he smiles when he sees everything, and he looks heartless. His skin was slightly brown, apparently tanned, as the skin tone exposed under the open neckline was noticeably lighter.
This man's appearance is quite compatible with his name, his name is Cheng Tianle.
