Chapter 34: The Ancestor of the Orcs (3)

Just get off work, update a chapter.

It was a huge cavern, and in comparison to its size, the cavern where Regana's underground temple in the swamp was located was a small blister on the edge of a large lake. At this moment, at least thousands of orcs stood at the bottom of the cave, thousands of pairs of eyes radiating red light showed an extremely fanatical look, but no one made a sound, and everyone looked at the gray-haired old orc on the high platform in the center of the cave. Behind this old orc, several stone pillars as high as more than ten meters, at least two or three people hugging each other, stood on a spacious high platform, enclosing into a semicircle, and in the center of the stone pillar, a strange magic symbol was lying quietly on the ground in the center of the stone pillar

Another jumble of footsteps came from behind Rhaeggar, and then, an excited group of orcs carrying their sacrifices through the stone door and appeared at the foot of the geist at the top of the cave - the heavy stone door had not yet opened, and they had just walked through the thousands of kilograms of boulders.

The orcs did not notice the geysers that had hidden themselves in the darkness with the help of camouflage, and upon entering the cavern, they immediately became quiet, quietly walking towards the dense crowd like tame kittens. Like the people Rhaegar had previously followed, they were.

This was apparently the last group of orcs to participate in the sacrifice, and when they reached their place, the old orc, who was standing on the high platform like a statue, suddenly moved, raised the wooden staff in his hand, and then slammed on the ground.

There was a muffled thunder in the silent cavern, and loud sound waves echoed through the closed cavern, and the orcs bowed their heads reverently, ready to listen to instructions from the Supreme Elder.

The orc elder did not immediately address his subjects, but the old orc showed no match for his age, and he turned and knelt respectfully to the thick stone pillars that stood behind him, then took out a short knife made of silver animal bones and slashed his wrist.

Bright red blood flowed from the wounds of the orc elder, dripping onto the ground, and soon gathered into a blood-colored stream, but the orc elder didn't seem to care about his excessive blood loss, he whispered a long and obscure incantation, and the blood-colored stream immediately flowed towards the magic symbol in the center of the stone pillar under the impetus of the power of the spell.

As the first drop of blood flowed into the magic symbol, a blood-red glow began to flash in the center of the symbol, and as more blood flowed in, the light began to become more and more intense, and it was clear that the spell contained in this ancient symbol was being triggered by the effect of fresh blood.

The orc elder's voice became more and more urgent, and even Rhaegar could hardly hear the specific content of the chanting in his mouth, and in the sound of a series of incantations, the light shot from the symbol quickly shrank to the middle, and then turned into a blood-colored light cluster like a substance, and the next moment, six small beams of light shot out from the light cluster, flying towards the stone pillars distributed around it.

Six different colors of light then shot out from the six thick stone pillars, straight to the top of the cave, and met in the air, forming a rainbow-like sphere, and then, from the blood-colored ball of light below, another ray of light shot out, like a slender bamboo skewer, the upper and lower spheres were strung together, and then, after a rapid expansion, the two balls of light disappeared from the sky at the same time.

Rhaegar, who had been quietly suspended in the air, suddenly felt a strange feeling, and at this moment, the geist clearly felt that in the place where the blood light disappeared, something was calling him. The geist who had already experienced this immediately realized what it was, he tried his best to suppress the throbbing in his heart, and continued to observe the situation on the high platform, and the next moment, Rhaegar clearly saw that in the original location of the blood light, a two-handed giant sword was suspended between several stone pillars, and a strong pressure like a sea tide centered on the giant sword, constantly impacting the hearts of the surrounding orcs.

"Praise the great orc ancestors!" the orc elder prostrated himself on the ground, performing the highest salute to the greatsword, and behind him, all the orcs knelt on the ground at the same time as the greatsword appeared, shouting the names of their ancestors.

Blood-colored light shot out from the gem on the hilt of the greatsword, striking the orc elder in the head with precision, and a powerful spiritual force poured into the latter's body, controlling his thoughts and actions.

By now, Rhaegar was 100% sure that the gem embedded in the hilt of the greatsword was hiding some of the fragments of his lost soul. Although he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, what he saw was enough for him to speculate on a lot of things: eons ago, the lost soul fragment of the God of Judgment combined with a breeding orc embryo to form a new life, and this orc with a partial soul from the gods showed far more wisdom and strength than his kind, and was elected leader of the people, single-handedly creating the current orc tribe that caused headaches for the Chatula, and he himself was revered by the orcs as his ancestor.

Clearly feeling the fluctuations from the vast spiritual power within the gem, Rhaegar knew that although he had lost his body for some reason, this soul fragment still retained the memories and thoughts of his orc ancestor. In a sense, he was not the same as the fragments he had absorbed before, as if he had fallen off from a tree, and then took root in other soils, and then grew into the fruit of a great tree, although he had belonged to that tree, he already had his own, independent life.

But for Rhaegar, this was no reason to give up his own soul fragments, and the geist was quietly suspended in midair, trying to restrain the soul fluctuations that might be emitted, while patiently waiting for the opportunity.

This opportunity didn't make him wait long, and after a few seconds, the controlled orc elder slowly got up from the ground, he turned around, and let out a thunderous roar at the audience.

The roar was like a command, and the orcs, who had been kneeling, all jumped up at the same time as they heard the roar, and they howled loudly, and around the high platform, they began to dance a dance dedicated to their ancestors.

At this moment, a huge fireball appeared in the sky above the stone pillar on the high platform, and the blazing fire shone on each orc's body, which immediately aroused their enthusiasm even more, and everyone lost their reason. They danced wildly, and the deafening shouts shook the walls and ceilings of the cave, and from time to time small stones were shaken down from the roof of the cave, but no one paid attention, and everyone's hearts were filled with joy and excitement for the celebration and the incomparable worship of their ancestors, and if anyone dared to break into the sacrifice at this time, even a giant dragon would be torn to pieces by them without hesitation.

This frenzy of the orcs culminated in the appearance of the sacrifices, when hundreds of intelligent beings from different races were escorted to the high platform where the orc elders were located, including several orcs, members of the tribe they had encountered in the wasteland, who were forced to sacrifice their own people despite being believed to have been favored by their ancestors.

All the creatures that had been sacrificed—the vast majority of them barbarians, but also some members of other intelligent races who had fled to the wasteland—seemed to have been somehow controlled by their sanities, and though they were not restrained in any way, none of them resisted, but simply followed the orcs who had guided them towards the middle of the stone pillar, surrounding the great magical symbol.

The giant sword suspended above the magic symbol seemed to feel the arrival of the sacrifice, and the wide blade of the sword shook rapidly, letting out bursts of excitement.

The controlled orc elder felt the emotion from the greatsword, and after the orcs escorting the sacrifice retreated, he couldn't wait to take out the bone dagger he had used to cut his own arm, walked up behind the nearest barbarian, and slit his throat.
