Chapter 040: Night Tour (Part I)
Chapter 040 Night Tour (Part I)
“Follow-me!”
Catherine looked up, only to find that Mrs. Hodge had left at some point.
Snape led her to the Charms classroom, the door was not closed, and a Gryffindor student had just walked back to his seat with a look of delight on his face, and Catherine recognized him as Oliver Wood, the captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
"Professor Flitwick, I need Flint out." Snape stood in the doorway and said to Professor Flitwick.
"Yes," Professor Flitwick nodded, "Flint." ”
A tall Slytherin walked out, and Snape led them into an empty classroom with expletives written on the blackboard.
"Marcus Flint, captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team," Snape introduced, "Catherine, the Seeker that Lady Hooch just recommended. ”
"Seeker!" The fifth-grader named Flint excitedly shouted, "Professor, are you telling the truth?" ”
"Yes," a smile tipped at the corner of Snape's mouth, "Mrs. Hooch said that Catherine had just saved a boy who had fallen from a twenty-foot height, and that she was slowly descending, suddenly speeding forward, and grabbing the boy's hand moments before he hit the ground. ”
"What a quick judgment!" Flint praised, remembering Catherine's match with Kenshott on Monday night, "and her speed and reflexes were outstanding." Professor Snape," Flint suddenly thought, "Professor McGonagall just came to see Wood, and you know he's the captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. And, as he walked out, I saw Harry Potter standing next to Professor McGonagall. I doubt they'll be like us, given that Harry Potter's father was one of the most famous Seekers in Hogwarts history. ”
"What a coincidence!" Snape's eyes were filled with disgust and a hint of surprise as he looked into Catherine's face and said, "If Harry Potter has half the talent of his father, then we need someone who is not inferior to him in skill." ”
"In that case, Catherine's joining is imperative," Flint said excitedly, "and we're going to have to get her a flying broomstick right away, do you see the latest Halo 2000?" ”
"Of course!" Snape said in a firm tone, "I'll get Dumbledore to agree to Katherine on the Quidditch team in Slytherin." ”
"Excuse me," Catherine winked innocently, "what is a Seeker?" ”
Before dinner, Catherine met Hermione, who was waiting anxiously at the door of the auditorium.
"Are you alright, did Madame Hodge do anything to you?" Hermione asked nervously as soon as she saw her.
"I'm fine, Lady Hermione-Hooch didn't do anything to me, she recommended me to the Quidditch team, but I promised Professor Snape not to say the details." Catherine replied with a smile.
"Wow! You're a blessing in disguise! Hermione patted her chest and exclaimed, "I haven't seen a first-year Seeker in years. ”
"I don't know." Catherine shrugged and changed the subject, "Did anything happen after I left, I heard that Harry was taken away by Professor McGonagall as well." ”
"Yes. After you left, Malfoy said that you would definitely be expelled, he thought that Neville was the victim, and decided to throw Neville's memory ball away, Malfoy flew into the sky despite Mrs. Hooch's request, Harry actually flew up heroically to try to stop it, Malfoy saw Harry catching up, so he threw the memory ball, fortunately Harry caught it before it fell to the ground, but this happened to be seen by Professor McGonagall, after that, he was taken away by Professor McGonagall. However, he had just returned, and his face was good, and it seemed that Professor McGonagall did not seem to punish him. Hermione finished it all in one breath.
"So, Professor McGonagall really let him join Team Quidditch." Catherine guessed.
"Is this possible?"
"I heard Professor McGonagall took him to Oliver Wood."
As they spoke, they walked into the Great Hall, and from afar they saw Draco and the others standing at the Gryffindor table, and Harry and Ron arguing with him about something. Catherine and Hermione hurried over for fear that they would fight on the spot, but they were already separated. I just vaguely heard the words "midnight" and "duel".
The two looked at each other, and both saw the worry in each other's eyes.
After dinner, Catherine immediately ran back to the Slytherin common room, but Draco did not return. She sat in the common room and waited for him, but waited until the lights were almost out before she saw Draco walk in with Crabbe and Goyle.
"Are you going to duel Harry at midnight!" Catherine asked, as soon as she saw Draco.
"What, are you going to stop me?" Draco asked rhetorically, sneering.
"That's right!" Catherine's face sank.
"Catherine," Draco was also angry, "I don't understand why you're defending that idiot Potter, you're a Slytherin. ”
"What if I'm a Slytherin!" Catherine's tone became very cold, "Do you want to be as naïve as you are, to sarcastic, teased and even humiliate them?" ”
"You don't have to be so angry!" Draco's tone suddenly weakened.
"I don't have to!" Catherine walked up to Draco and stared at him with angry eyes, forcing him to retreat and sit down in his chair before she said coldly, "If you were the one who was sarcastic, teased, and humiliated, you don't need to be so angry!" ”
"Catherine......" Draco was startled by her tone.
"I'm not going to let you go." Catherine suppressed her anger a little.
"I'm not going to go." Draco muttered.
"You're not going to go!" Catherine's eyes widened suddenly, and she whispered, "You sued Mr. Filch so that they could be caught, didn't you!" ”
"I-I-" Draco was horrified by Catherine's appearance, he was completely speechless.
"Where are you going to be?" Catherine's voice suddenly calmed down, but it was even more creepy.
"Medal Showroom." As soon as he said this, Catherine turned to go out, and Draco quickly grabbed her arm, "You can't go out, it's past the time to turn off the lights." ”
Catherine ignored him, she shook off his hand and left the Slytherin common room, running towards the Gryffindor Tower, hoping to stop Harry before they left the Gryffindor common room.
But as Catherine walked through the foyer, she suddenly smelled a strange smell, so familiar that she couldn't help but stop. She quickly searched her memory, the smell coming from the fragments of Gringotts' doors.
Catherine had always thought it was the smell of Gringotts' door material, but there was nothing in the foyer that used that material, and the fact that it was in the Hogwarts foyer only meant one thing: the smell came from the man who robbed Gringotts, and he was at Hogwarts right now.
Catherine was shocked, and she immediately returned to the foyer to find the source of the scent, only to find it going through the oak door. She pushed the door hard, but didn't move, apparently locked. She looked out through the crack in the door, it was dark outside, and she could only vaguely see a figure walking towards the Forbidden Forest, what seemed to be something above his head.
Catherine shifted her position, trying to see better, but she suddenly felt something behind her, and she jerked around to see a pair of evil, round black eyes.
"What are you doing here? Young-Fairy!” The owner of the eyes cracked open his wide-faced mouth and smiled wickedly.
"Who are you?" Catherine asked in surprise, it was a small man who floated in mid-air like a ghost, dressed in colorful clothes, he wore a crimson tie, and his pointed slippers cracked and their toes were cracked, and his appearance was unforgettable, but Catherine realized that she had never seen him.
"You don't know me!" He screamed and fell to his side, then turned his whole body half around and stood upside down, his crimson tie hanging to the ground, looking like the head of a hanged man, "There is someone in Hogwarts who doesn't know me Peeves!" ”
"You're Peeves!" Catherine blinked, she had heard of this very prankstering, rude, and unruly Peeves, but she hadn't thought he was like this, "You're not a ghost, right?" ”
"Ghosts! No, no! I—of course not—a ghost! Peeves' expression suddenly became very agitated, and he cried up and down like a marble, "I'm an elf!" Elve-! Do you know? The elves of Hogwarts! ”
"I understand!" Catherine nodded hurriedly, she now understood why Peeves wasn't as pale and transparent as the other ghosts, and why he was able to get dressed and carry things, but—"If you're a Hogwarts elf, why didn't I see you at the opening party?" ”
"Why!" Peeves jerked to a halt in front of Catherine and shouted angrily, "Because they won't let me participate!" Do you understand! They didn't let me attend the opening party that I always wanted to attend the most! ”
"Who are they?" Catherine asked cautiously.
"Them!" Peeves' face became even more ugly, "Who do you think there is but those ghosts and Dumbledore!" ”
"Who's making a fuss out there?" A voice suddenly interjected, and then a dim oil lamp lit up, revealing a somewhat hunched figure.
"Filch!" Peeves screamed, "It's Filch, who is too old to be wanted, are you looking for a student who hasn't slept and wandered around?" ”
"Shut up! Peeves! Filch shouted, raising the oil lamp to illuminate the foyer.
But there was no one else in sight except Peeves, "Sue me, who were you talking to just now?" ”
"You told me to 'shut up'!" Peeves said with a grin.
"Now open your mouth and sue me!" Filch shouted angrily.
"Why should I sue you? Do I need to sue you? Peeves floated to Filch with his head in his hands.
"Do you even say it!" Filch reached out to grab his tie, but Peeves floated out of his reach.
"I don't want to say it!" Peeves grimaced at Filch, "If you have the ability, you can find it yourself." ”
