Chapter 010: Night Walk in White
Chapter 010 White Night Walking
βOK!β As soon as Catherine finished reading it, the woman clicked on the photo of Lily Evans, and when she saw what she looked like when she was a child, both of them froze, and the black-haired woman even pulled the girl to the computer to compare it with the enlarged photo up close.
"Oh my God! You're pretty much the same person except for the eyes, and if you stand together, everyone will think you're twins! The woman shouted in fuss.
"She's 20 years older than me!" Catherine stood up straight and said very calmly, as if accustomed to the assessment.
"I just forgot about it." The woman stuck out her tongue, "I don't think anyone who saw her when she was a child would suspect that you weren't her missing daughter." β
"Couldn't it be a coincidence?" Catherine stared into the woman's eyes.
"Unless it's artificial, butβ" the woman lifted the girl's chin, "I remember you've been watching since you were a child. β
Catherine turned to Lily Evans' picture and was silent for a moment, "I just can't believe it. β
"You're suspicious again." The woman pouted and closed Lily Evans' file.
"With their abilities, if they really wanted to find me, they would have found me a long time ago." Catherine's tone sounded calm, but the woman could still sense the dissatisfaction.
"What are you going to do now?" The woman asked curiously.
"I'll go and find out." Catherine looked at the dark-haired woman, "But I need help." β
"They are the closest people to each other in the same class, and I suspect they have known each other since childhood, butβ" The woman pulled out a report from the drawer, "I'm afraid she's the only one left in the know." β
"Penny Evans." Catherine began to look through the very detailed, but apparently an ordinary housewife's file, "Didn't you ask it yourself?" β
"There's something strange about where she lives," the woman frowned, "and none of my people are near." β
"Even you?" Catherine asked.
The woman nodded.
"In that case," Catherine looked at the black figure in the video, "I'll have to go find him first." β
Located on the outskirts of London, Spider Tail Lane was once a small flour mill a century ago, but since the largest mill closed down in the economic crisis, the area has been in decline, the wealthy have moved, and the area has become a nascent slum cellar in London.
After all, it was an industrial area, the infrastructure is still not bad, at least on the surface, there are rows of neat brick houses here, but because they have not been repaired for a long time, they look very dilapidated, and the street lights are not much intact, but it is still no big problem to walk during the day, but at night, especially in the middle of the night, the good child will never walk here alone.
This has been the law of Spider Tail Alley for many years, but on the night of August 24, 1991, someone made an exception.
It was a girl dressed in white with long burgundy hair, and at first, the "residents" of Spider's Tail Alley thought they had seen a ghost, but when the girl walked under a street lamp that was still intact, they noticed that she had a shadow, and it was determined that she was indeed a living person, a girl in high-end clothes.
Few of the "residents" of Spidertail Alley could tolerate such a temptation, but they also understood the same principle - "don't provoke women and children who travel alone" - and this one happened to have both.
So they weren't too stupid, they were all waiting, waiting for one of the guys to get carried away and run to be the first to eat crabs.
Finally, a drunken big man rushed out to live up to expectations, and the "onlookers" all opened their eyes wide, wanting to see the girl's strength clearly.
Unfortunately, no one could see that when the big man rushed near the girl, everyone saw her turn in a circle, and then the big man flew upside down into the tavern he had run out of, knocking over many tables, chairs, and chairs.
"Shhh The people who saw it gasped, that girl should not be a monster, now no one dares to run out to test this girl who can't even see clearly, but they still probe her brain and even follow her openly, wanting to see who she is looking for, and that one is so unlucky to provoke this little evil star.
Glancing at the "onlookers" who were getting closer and closer, Catherine smiled faintly, but she didn't drive them away, just as she dared to walk around this messy place in white, she was strong enough to ensure that these beam-jumping clowns would not disturb her purpose, and she was equally confident that her goal would not disturb her by these inconsequential people.
When she came to the end of Spider Tail Alley, Catherine finally understood why S.S.B. said that it had "disappeared completely", because at the location of 17 Spider Tail Alley, there was only a large square pit, just like the house that used to be here, which was pulled out like a carrot.
But as Catherine was concentrating on the pit, she suddenly saw a house of the same structure as the surroundings, but neater than them, "growing" out of the pit at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"Is this magic?" Catherine looked up at the three-story brick house that had suddenly "grown" in front of her, and walked over in a soft exclamation.
"Wait a minute!" Catherine had barely taken a step when she heard a man shouting behind her.
"What's the matter?" Catherine asked.
"Are you here for Severus Snape?" The man asked with a white face.
"Yes." Catherine blinked, puzzled.
"He's been erased by God along with that haunted house!" The man's face suddenly flushed.
"But......" Before Catherine could finish speaking, she was interrupted by an angry voice.
"Catherine!" The crowd followed the prestige and saw No. 17 Spider Tail Alley and the man in black standing at the door.
"Hell!" There was a loud cry of terror, and then the "onlookers" collectively turned around and ran away until they were completely out of Catherine's sight.
Snape, who was interrupted by a shout, glared at the house dissatisfied, and decided to add a soundproofing charm around the house from tomorrow, and then he noticed that it was already dark outside, and after looking at the time, he found that it was already the second half of the night, thinking that he needed to prepare for the new semester in the coming week, so he put down the text in his hand, stood up and prepared to go upstairs to sleep, but an unexpectedly familiar voice suddenly interrupted his movements.
Snape's brow furrowed slightly, then he took out his wand, walked to the door, and gently opened a crack in the door, and then he saw a girl dressed in white, standing in the middle of the dirty street, surrounded by a group of lewd men.
"Catherine!" Snape slammed the door open, shouting the girl's name.
Then, without waiting for him to make any moves, the group of men ran away like ghosts.
"Do wizards like to pretend to be ghosts?" Catherine walked up to him and teased with a smile, "Professor Snape! β
Snape was noncommittal to the question, and instead asked rhetorically, "How did you find here?" β
"I'm justβ" Catherine smiled as she raised a piece of paper in her hand, but when she accidentally glanced at the pile of papers behind Snape that made her so familiar, her expression suddenly froze, and her tone became very cold, "I did the same thing as you." β
Noticing Catherine's anomaly, Snape glanced back at the texts that were almost all piled up in the living room, and hurriedly explained, "I didn't get them. β
Catherine looked up into his eyes, then smiled again: "I know, some people will investigate others like I do, but you are not. I just couldn't react a little, I rememberedβ" she said in a flat tone, looking at the bun again, "that I had burned them all and dumped them all into the sea to feed the fish." β
"There is a 'flying spell' in the wizarding world that summons what you want, as long as you know its name and are not imprisoned by others. There's also a 'repair charm' that repairs what is broken. β
"Anything?" Catherine asked, looking up.
"Of course not, it can't fix what was destroyed by the dark arts."
"In that case," Catherine suddenly smiled at Snape, "that would only trouble you." β
Snape was stunned, it didn't seem that the average person's reaction to such a situation should be like this, so why would Catherine ......
"Won't you let me in?" The girl's words interrupted Snape's thoughts, and he habitually turned sideways to open the door before a question suddenly came to mind.
"Why did you come to me?"
"Don't sue me, you haven't received an update on me from certain people." Catherine patted the text and looked back at Snape with a smile.
Snape tried to deny it, but finally spat out "yes", but then he angrily asked, "You shouldn't have come here at this time!" Have you forgotten what I said half a month ago? Or maybe you think it's as safe as a kindergarten! β
"23 days, 5 hours, 43 minutes and 16 seconds ago, to be exact." Catherine glanced at her watch and smiled at Snape, "But if you had said it four years ago, maybe I'd have followed it seriously." β
Even though Snape thought that his language skills were very "tactful", he still thought for a few seconds before he understood what Catherine meant.
"Can I sit down?" Before Snape could decide what to say, Catherine interrupted him again.
"Pack!" Snape waved his wand directly, and then the texts that had been almost half the room and scattered everywhere flew into the corner, neatly stacked from the floor to the ceiling.
"Wow! I'm glad I didn't turn you down in the first place. Catherine exclaimed, "Magic is truly magical!" β
"I hope you'll never regret it!" Snape said suddenly, with a hint of sadness in his tone.
