Chapter 062: Aftermath (II)
Chapter 062 Aftermath (II)
Snape looked at Draco and then at Catherine, and he finally understood why the Malfoys had given him such an ugly look just now.
Snape pursed his lips in contemplation for a moment, then walked over to Catherine and sat down, reaching out to take her into his arms.
"I forgot you're just an eleven-year-old girl." Snape said apologetically, clenching her cold right hand.
Catherine was dumbfounded, she unconsciously grabbed Snape's clothes, biting her lip and trembling slightly, a layer of moisture blindfolded her eyes, in order to avoid tears, she habitually raised her head, but it happened to meet Snape's concerned gaze.
"What's wrong?" Snape didn't expect her to look up, and couldn't help but ask.
Catherine blinked her eyes and asked softly, "Are they really hunting?" β
Snape had a rare look of embarrassment on his face, and he coughed before replying, "There are depraved beings there." β
"And what ifβ" Catherine's tone suddenly became very stern, "what if I kill them?" β
"If we can solve the problem once and for allβ" Snape looked at Catherine for a long time before he said calmly, "then kill!" β
"You don't mind?" Catherine couldn't help but ask.
"Only by living can there be hope!" Snape placed her right hand on his chest, "Survive, there's nothing wrong with that!" He ruffled Catherine's long hair and gently wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes.
Catherine closed her eyes, she didn't want to cry.
She doesn't regret the decisions she made, and she doesn't care about other people's opinions, but Snape is the only exception, he doesn't alert her, she doesn't reject his proximity, his care and care, so that she can endure his temper and meanness, so that she can't help but trust him, crave his warmth, and even look forward to his approval.
Even if she knew how great the difficulties she was about to face, no matter how unbearable the foreseeable consequences were, she still wanted to learn from the butterflies at night and chase the gentle moonlight, but could she really get it?
It was not only the moonlight that could not be seen, but also the sun, Snape looked at such similar faces in front of him, he couldn't help but feel a bitterness in his heart, he knew that Catherine didn't do it on purpose, and he had promised her not to use her as Lily's stand-in anymore, but he still couldn't help it.
He lowered his head gently and slowly kissed her forehead.
Catherine was shocked by the soft touch of her forehead, and she struggled violently to get away from Snape as she thought of her eyes closed, and of what she had seen in the Mirror of Eris.
But Snape had embraced her, leaned her on his shoulder, and whispered in her ear in a hoarse voice:
"Sleep!" Snape pulled out childhood memories that he hadn't looked back on for a long time, and patted Catherine softly on the back, following his mother's example.
Catherine was stunned, she opened her eyes and secretly looked at Snape with a focused expression, her right hand felt the vigorous heartbeat, her stiff and cold body was gradually melted by his body temperature, a familiar fragrance enveloped her, she slowly closed her eyes, and her consciousness slowly blurred.
By the time Catherine opened her eyes again, the sun was already setting, and when she found herself in an unfamiliar environment, she sat up from her bed suddenly, and when she saw that she was in Snape's office and remembered what had happened, her tense body relaxed.
"I actually fell asleep," Catherine shook her head self-deprecatingly as she looked at the empty office, "and slept longer than Draco." β
She pulled open the quilt and prepared to get up, but a black object fell out of the quilt, and Catherine picked it up and found it to be a puppet, a puppet that looked suspicious of birds, because it had two wings, but other than that, it had nothing to do with any birds.
"Where did it come from?" Catherine looked at the black puppet suspiciously, judging from the position where it had fallen, it seemed as if it had been held in her arms all along, but she remembered that she was not in the habit of sleeping with something in her arms.
Catherine continued to stare at it quizzically, until she smelled something familiar from it.
"The scent of moonshine flowers, no wonder I slept so soundly." Catherine smiled, put it away, got up and went to the real room to wash her face and tidy up her appearance, and asked Andrew and Annette about the whereabouts of the others before heading to the Slytherin common room.
As soon as she entered, she found that the inside had been cleaned, all the tables and chairs had been thrown away, Snape and Narcissa were rearranging the newly purchased furniture, Draco was following the two of them, whether they were helping or not doing a favor, and Lucius and Ixissi were nowhere to be seen, and if it weren't for the faint smell of blood in the air, it would be impossible to detect what had just happened here.
"Awake?" Snape was the first to notice Catherine's arrival, and the other two looked at her.
"You're here just in time," Draco said with a wink, "and it's over here." β
"Didn't you just wake up not long ago?" Narcissa directly exposes her son's tricks.
βMum!β Draco grumbled, but Narcissa ignored him, and said to Catherine enthusiastically, "You did come at the right time to go to Malfoy Manor for the New Year." β
"It's ......," Catherine nodded when she looked at Snape in surprise and saw that he didn't object, "it's my pleasure, but I think I need to change my clothes." She lifted her crumpled clothes.
"Everything in your room was ruined by those guys," Narcissa put her arm around her shoulders and walked straight out of the Slytherin common room, "I'll go with you tomorrow to buy a new one." β
"But my money is still thereβ" Catherine could finish her sentence when Snape interrupted her.
"I've asked Lucius to take it and store it in Gringotts!" Snape said angrily, "You are not allowed to carry that much money with you in the future." β
"I thought no one else could come in without my consent!" Catherine grumbled.
"Don't you know that the only thing that can really do what you say," Draco leaned over and looked at her with his head held high, "only 'SC'!" β
"What do you say?" Catherine glared at him disapprerovingly.
Catherine spent the night at Malfoy Manor, and the next day, Narcissa took her and Draco on a shopping spree in an attempt to replace them from head to toe, but the two children joined forces to resist and did not let her succeed, but she still dragged on until the morning of January 6 to buy what Catherine needed.
In the past five and a half days, Lucius does not seem to have returned to Malfoy Manor at all, but he should have been in contact with Narcissa and had some good news, which made Mrs. Malfoy's fighting spirit more and more high in the past few days.
Although Snape claimed to be going to make potions, Catherine could smell a faint scent of moonlight flowers around her as soon as she left Malfoy Manor, and Narcissa was obviously aware of this, but Draco was kept in the dark, and he complained to his mother about his godfather's strictness, and the red-haired girl was sure that after this period of time, he would be very miserable.
On the afternoon of the 6th, it was rare not to have to go out, Narcissa Jian yì drank tea together, and then the other three were pulled by her to the back garden to bask in the sun.
The winter afternoon sun is not strong, and the strong north wind is blocked by magic outside the manor, and the climate is so comfortable that people are sleepy, but the flowing snowflakes like cotton wool can still make people feel cold, and if they accidentally fall into the collar, they can definitely make people jump.
Draco was woken up several times in this way, and finally had to ask the house-elf to bring a scarf around him, looking at himself around the dragon scarf with a silly look, and then looking at the other three's graceful posture like a spring breeze, he couldn't help but whisper a complaint, in exchange for a spiral pinch from his mother, and a meaningful look from his godfather.
Seeing this, Catherine hurriedly picked up the teacup to hide her smile, and turned her head away to pretend to see Malfoy Manor.
The main building of Malfoy Manor is not large, just a very decent mansion, but it is no smaller than Hogwarts, and the environment is more or less similar, except that the forest of Malfoy Manor is on the back of the main house, and the lake is on either side of the main house, and a very wide river goes around it, connecting them together and protecting Malfoy Manor in the middle.
On the other side of the river are tall and neatly manicured hedges, and if you think they are just a barrier to the prying eyes of outsiders, you would be very wrong, but Catherine has witnessed a migratory bird that has come down hungry to catch fish quickly entangled in them, and in the blink of an eye there is not even a slag left, which makes her heart chill every time she sees this hedge that is out of sight.
"There are so many dangerous items in the wizarding world!" Catherine sighed inwardly when she heard an explosion next to the fountain.
The four people at the tea table immediately looked over and saw Lucius, who looked very bad, his robe was wrinkled, and there were stains on the corners that had not had time to be cleaned up, his long platinum blonde hair had lost its luster, his eyes were sunken, his skin was a little sallow, and his spirit was very tired.
"Lucius!" As soon as Narcissa saw her husband's miserable condition, she immediately ran towards him, "How did you get like this?" β
"Daddy!" Draco also hurried to Lucius's side to help hold him up, "What the hell is going on?" β
"You'd better let him sit down first!" Snape used his wand to get a chair behind Lucius, and when he sat down, he directly tore his upper clothes with magic and commanded, "Dobby, go get my medicine box at once!" β
Dobby disappeared as Narcissa and Draco exclaimed, and Catherine leaned over to see a wound at least 13 inches long from Lucius' left shoulder to his right abdomen, which had crusted over in some places, but still oozing green blood.
"I thought it was just a child," Lucius said to himself, looking at the wound, "careless! β
"Are you sure you're just careless, and not deliberately seeking death?" Snape scolded as he examined the wound, "It's been at least three days old!" β
"I can't leave." Lucius said helplessly.
"Why don't you call me?" Snape asked angrily.
"You are needed more here!" Lucius's smile made Catherine suddenly think of the fallen angel Lucifer.
