Chapter 048: Should I Do It?
Chapter 048 Should It Be Done?
"Don't think you're good at other things, and you can beat Harry as a Seeker!" I don't know if I heard her voice, Ron suddenly spoke, and when Catherine looked at him, he saw that he was glaring at him.
"Ron! You-you weren't last night-" Hermione couldn't figure out what was going on with him.
"I did apologize last night," Ron said with a blushing face, "and it was indeed my fault for blaming Catherine for being vexatious and haphazard, and for Harry not to associate with her again!" However, that doesn't mean I'll agree with her! β
"Didn't Catherine apologize to you last night?" Hermione asked, puzzled.
"I'm not talking about that wizard chess duel, I'm talking about her attitude towards Quidditch!" Ron yelled, and then, as if suddenly remembering who he was "accusing" of, "I think Slytherin made a very bad decision to make you a Seeker. He seemed to want to despise Catherine like Draco, but the awkward look made the redhead almost laugh.
"I'll admit that," Catherine coughed, then said earnestly, "after all, I didn't come to Hogwarts to play Quidditch. β
"Are we here to play?" Ron immediately jumped out of his chair like a rat with his ass burned.
"Sit down! Ron! Hermione preemptively stopped in front of Catherine and shoved the angry red-haired boy back into his seat, "You are not allowed to speak again!" β
Maybe it was the fact that Hermione was almost beaten by a troll yesterday, which made Ron feel very guilty, and now when he saw her angry, he was like a balloon that had been punctured, and the momentum of anger disappeared completely.
"Well, Catherine, you can ignore what he just said!" Ron tried to retort, but Hermione glared at him, and he went down again.
"No!" Catherine smiled, "In a way, he did give me a wake-up call. Soβ" she walked over and held out her left hand to the red-haired boy, "to make it official, my name is Catherine!" β
Ron was dazed and didn't understand what Catherine meant, but he still knew what to do with him, so he took the other man's hand and said, "Ron, Ron Weasley!" β
"Wow! Oh, my God! Hermione exclaimed as she looked at their clasped hands.
Ron finally understood Catherine's intentions, and he immediately shook off her hand and wiped it vigorously on her clothes, as if he had just touched something.
"Hahaha!" Catherine couldn't help but laugh, and Hermione smiled when she saw her react like this.
"Don't laugh!" Ron jumped up and shouted angrily, but his angry appearance made the two girls laugh louder, and he finally had to sit back in his chair and sulk alone.
Seeing this, Hermione consciously put away her smile, and although Catherine also stopped laughing, she still had a smile on her face.
"Anyway, it's really not a good fit for us to stay together anytime soon, after all, the first Quidditch was exactly - 'Gryffindor-Vs-Slytherin', so-" Hermione raised her fist and said, "I'll be 'sniping' you in class for the next week!" β
"Hermione!" Catherine had a look of regret on her face, "You've learned badly!" β
"No gags!" Hermione exclaimed, "Dare to accept my challenge and compete with me to see who gets more points?" β
"Slytherin never thinks about whether or not to dare to do it," Catherine smiled, "but whether to do it or not!" β
"I'll just say," Ron sneered, "Slytherins are cowards!" β
"Didn't I say I wouldn't accept the challenge?" Catherine blinked.
"You'll have to think about it, Catherine!" Hermione unnaturally showed a hint of concern, "In that case, you're going to have to fight on both sides!" β
"So, if I win," Catherine smiled, a big smile, "some people will be even more speechless!" β
Suddenly, Hermione's face flushed, and Ron's anger flared.
"That's why you agreed to Gryffindor's challenge very hastily!" That night, in the large living room of the Slytherin first-year dormitory, Draco looked blankly at Catherine, who was sitting across from him.
"yes," said Catherine, smiling, "so I need your help." β
"Why should we help you?" Blaise said lazily, as he was leaning his legs upside down on the back of the couch, as if the position made him very comfortable.
"Because, when I'm in second grade," Catherine sighed deliberately, "I'm not going to be a Seeker anymore." β
"What!" There were several exclamations, and the other first-year students who had planned not to participate all looked up at Catherine in shock.
"Do you know what it means to be a Seeker?" Pansy's eyes widened, and she tugged at the clothes on Catherine's chest and asked.
"Of course. Butβ" Catherine took Pansy's hand and spoke in a deliberately lamenting tone, which frightened the brunette girl into withdrawing her hand, "I didn't come to Hogwarts to play Quidditch!" β
The others were silent, after all, they didn't come to Hogwarts to play Quidditch, but because Quidditch's score would be added to the house's overall score, they naturally had to value Quidditch in order to win the House Cup.
"No matter what you do, if you don't work hard, it's hard to succeed." Catherine shrugged helplessly, "And I don't have enough time to guarantee an absolute victory, so I can only give it away." "So this year is probably my last season." β
"Seeminglyβ" Theodore pushed his glasses, "Your first season won't start until next Saturday." β
"Yay! Is it? Catherine winked innocently, "That's not the point, though, the point is that you're willing to help me now?" β
The eight first-year Slytherins looked at each other, and finally Daphne asked, "How can I help?" β
"Does one person know more things, or nine people remember more?" Catherine smiled brightly.
On the evening of November 1st, the Slytherin Year 1 "Brush Score Team" was urgently established, and its main members and division of labor were as follows: Captain: Catherine, responsible for "rushing to answer"; Staff Team: Team Leader: Draco, Team Members: Blaise, Theodore, and Daphne, responsible for providing reference answers to the team leader; Harassment Team: Team Leader: Pansy: Team Members: Millicent, Crabbe, and Goyle, responsible for harassing students from other houses and preventing them from answering questions.
After two days of preparation, they were "drafted" on November 4 and quickly achieved extraordinary results, especially with the harassment group, whose efforts prevented first-year Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff students from getting any marks in class.
The situation was soon noticed by Gryffindor House, and the Gryffindor students formed an "emergency scoring team" after "consultation", and Gryffindor's scores began to increase significantly.
Seeing that the gap between the two sides was getting smaller and smaller, the staff team "discussed overnight", used their collective wisdom, and decided to take the initiative, and the Slytherin score rose again. After receiving the news, Gryffindor was busy taking the same approach, but due to its own lack of preparation, it could only watch the gap between the two sides widen again.
Faced with this situation, the head of the Gryffindor Academy resolutely took action, and Gryffindor's score immediately soared, and even surpassed it for a time. But at the last moment, it was the head of the Slytherin Academy who "reviewed", so Catherine won the game.
"It's despicable! You Slytherins have to take advantage of your own headmaster's favor to win! "Didn't your Gryffindor dean help you get your scores!"
On Saturday 9th November, the first match of the Quidditch season officially began at eleven o'clock, but the battle between Slytherin and Gryffindor had already begun the moment they stepped into the Great Hall.
Although many Hufflepuff students were eager to join in, they could only sit in their seats for breakfast under the eyes of the professors, and the Ravenclaw students sandwiched between the two house tables, organized by the seniors, wisely crowded all over the door of the auditorium, leaving the other side as a "battlefield" for both sides.
"It was supposed to be a match between me and you? What do you mean by all Slytherins being involved! As Catherine left the Great Hall to go to the Quidditch pitch with the rest of the team, Hermione stopped her.
"This is clearly a battle between Slytherin House and Gryffindor House!" Draco was the first to speak, "Or do you think we Slytherin are going to leave Catherine alone!" He had a Malfoy-esque look of arrogance, followed by the other Slytherins.
"After all, you Slytherins will do all the vile tricks!" Ron shouted loudly, this attracted the hatred of the other three houses, after all, Slytherin's methods this time were indeed a bit excessive, considering that Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff combined only got thirty points this week.
"Actuallyβ" Catherine said suddenly in a very sad voice, "they just know that I'm not going to be a Seeker next year!" There was a look of remorse on her face.
"What!" The other three houses all shouted in exclamation, and the Slytherin collectively lowered their heads to keep their expressions from the others.
"Catherine! Why should you give up! Hermione grabbed the red-haired girl's hand and asked anxiously, "Is it because Iβ"
"No, of course not!" Catherine smiled, "It's just that Ron's words made me realize that I'm really not fit to be a Seeker. β
"Huh!" The man at the door of the auditorium looked neatly at the red-haired boy, and that look like a substance knocked him back two steps.
"You're talking nonsense! I amβ" Ron retorted loudly, but realized that he had actually said something similar, and he was dumbfounded.
Fortunately, a cough sounded in time to help him relieve the siege, and everyone turned around to find that it was the principal who made the sound, and hurriedly got out of the way.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" Dumbledore smiled and said, "It's half past ten, should we go to the court?" β
"Ahh The crowd blocking the door let out an exclamation of surprise, and then they all hurried towards the gate.
