Chapter 094: "Accident" and "Secret"
"I still have to take the exam, otherwise the professors wouldn't have agreed to my leave now, but Hagrid has some trouble there, and his tearsβ" Catherine sighed, but didn't continue, "but after I reconsidered, I feel that I still lack practical experience with magical creatures, so I hope you can find a way to keep Hagrid from stray from the norm, at least there are fewer surprises in the third-year class." β
"At this point, you can rest assured, you have also read my father's settlement agreement with him, and I can threaten Hagrid with Buckbeak's life to change the course content at any time." Draco said arrogantly, then glanced at Trelawney with disdain, "What about the divination class?" Do you want to keep going? β
"Yes, and I also want to ask you to replace me and help me complete the transaction agreed with those senior seniors, which is the procurement fund." Catherine took out two small cloth bags containing magic coins and pushed them in front of the two friends, but seeing that none of them had the intention of accepting, she had to explain helplessly, "I'm collecting information, because Professor Trelawney's divination involves a secret, well, a secret that can't be said." β
"Alright! I'll help you. As soon as Hermione heard the words "secret" and "can't say", she reluctantly reached out and put away the small cloth bag in front of her, "What about the DA class?" Do you want to take time off work too? β
"I'm not decided, I'd like to wait until I've discussed it with Professor Lupin before making arrangements, and maybe I'll have to ask Professor Snape for advice." Catherine said bitterly that the meeting between her two elders would not be as intense as Mars hitting Earth, but it would not be any better.
"If your classes are only divination and the protection of magical creatures, then the two of them will probably take the opportunity to train your Defence Against the Dark Arts skills, and you will only have time to spare this semester. In that case, how do we hand over the information we have collected for you? Draco asked, fiddling thoughtfully with the rope that tied the cloth bag.
"Isn't there an SG group meeting?" Catherine said with a smile, "They are all instructors, I believe that as long as I remind them in time." They will be more than willing to perform their duties. After all, if I wasn't there, they would never have been able to complete my training schedule in a short period of time. β
Hermione nodded, then suddenly asked nervously, "Catherine!" Don't tell me, that new mission you've assigned is about to start now? β
"Of course not, some things aren't ready yet." Catherine thought about it for a moment before giving an exact time, "Saturday night, gather in the training room, and you find time to draw lots to decide on your respective roles - the Death Eaters, the Order of the Phoenix, and the Spy!" She paused, then suddenly added, "Harry doesn't need to." He can only be a prisoner, and of course he can practice a fake surrender. β
"Fake surrender? Can he do it? Draco raised an eyebrow, clearly not believing Harry could accomplish such a difficult task.
"If you practice a lot, you will naturally be able to bring your own props." Catherine stopped talking, and Hermione and Draco didn't ask her any more, but got together to discuss, because the red-haired girl's assignments rarely prompted, and they often had to explore on their own. Except, of course, the one-off kind, but it's not much better.
As soon as class got out, Catherine ran to the DA classroom to look for Lupin, just. Before she could say what she was trying to do, she had to explain her experience back in the same vague terms.
But Lupin, after listening to her explanation, did not immediately express his position, but looked at Catherine with a complicated gaze. It wasn't until the look of composure on her face collapsed that she finally spoke.
"Do you know how many times you used the word 'accident' in that passage? And how many so-called 'unspeakable secrets' are involved? Lupin's voice sounded calm. Catherine, however, sensed the helplessness hidden in it.
"The former is 5, and the latter is unfortunately 5, but you already know what the 'secret' related to Professor Trelawney is." Catherine leaned against the edge of the podium and smiled flatteringly.
"What about the others?" Lupin stared into the girl's eyes, trying to keep his tone calm, "How long are you going to keep it a secret?" Why don't you ask me and Sirius for help? Even if the two of us can't, what about Dumbledore? β
"Well, my relationship with Professor Dumbledore is a bit complicated, and I can't fully trust him, so I basically consult with Professor Snape." Catherine replied cautiously.
"I was wrong!" Lupin suddenly hammered the lectern hard, closed his eyes and took a deep breath, "I shouldn't have waited until Dumbledore wrote to see you at Hogwarts!" β
"You didn't have a way to control your behavior after you became a werewolf, Remus, you just didn't want to hurt anyone." Catherine softly persuaded.
"That's just an excuse!" Lupin shouted, turned around and walked quickly to the window, "I know when I can't control myself!" He took a few sharp breaths before pressing the window glass and whispering repentance.
"I've been telling myself that I'm looking for your whereabouts, so I can't go to see Harry, but I just don't have the courage to face you, I'm afraid you'll ask about the cause of your parents' deaths, I'm afraid you'll ask me, where was I when Voldemort appeared?"
"Remus," Catherine walked to his side, "it's all in the past, and you're already making up for your mistakes, so why bother blaming yourself?" β
"I'm not regretting, I'm jealous." Lupin looked at Catherine and smiled bitterly, "I'm jealous that Severus can have so much trust from you, so that you always go to him for help when you are confused and difficult." These belonged to me and Sirius, but they were lost because of our cowardice and stupidity. β
Catherine opened her mouth, and finally could only spit out this sentence: "If Sirius knew the truth, he would probably be jealous of you, after all, I trust you more than he does." β
Lupin was stunned, then suddenly smiled and reached out to mess Catherine's hair.
"Remus!" Catherine shouted and took a few steps back before holding her head and glaring at the elder in front of her, "Why are you messing with my hair?" β
"You're more like a kid." Lupin leaned against the windowsill and smiled mischievously.
"You-" Catherine yelled angrily, but didn't know what to scold next, so she simply took a deep breath and changed the subject, "You'd better help me think about my Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson!" Do you think I'm going to continue to follow other people's lessons? Or are you tutoring me alone? β
"This one!" As soon as he heard the matter, Lu Ping's expression immediately became stern, but his body was still leaning against the windowsill, "I think it's better to have a thorough assessment first, and then check and fill in the gaps according to your results." β
"Thorough assessment?" Catherine thought as she conjured a comb to take care of her hair, "In terms of theory, as long as I have seen it, there is no problem, and as for the practical operation, Professor Snape has given me supplementary lessons for the past two years, would you like to ask his opinion?" β
"It's a great idea." Lupin waved his wand to show the time, and then decided, "It's almost noon, and I happened to bring my lunch to visit him in the medical wing." β
"Thisβ" Catherine hesitated, stopping to comb her hair, "I was going to go to the kitchen to get Professor Snape lunch later." β
"Okay, I'll accompany you to the kitchen." With that, Lupin walked up to Catherine, looking obedient.
Catherine sighed helplessly in her heart and turned to lead the way to the kitchen.
Seeing Catherine and Lupin entering the medical wing with food, Madam Pomfrey, who was about to go to the auditorium, immediately turned around, but the lunch went unexpectedly smoothly, although there was a big reason that Lupin was shocked by Snape's new image and never came to his senses, but Snape did not show his usual eyebrows and raised eyebrows, which surprised the two ladies.
It's just that when they finished eating and started talking about Catherine's DA class, the two men immediately quarreled, so strong and imposing, that even Madam Pomfrey, who was the hidden boss of Hogwarts, was a little at a loss for a while, and Catherine had no room to interject.
However, this fight was not long in the evening, after all, the lunch break in England was not long, so as soon as the afternoon class bell rang, Lupin hurriedly left to go to class, but Snape sat at the table with a frown and wrote and painted, Madam Pomfrey saw this and went to work in the medical wing, and Catherine stood in front of the window, looking at the afternoon scenery, thinking about the arrangements for this semester.
Catherine's main goal this academic year, to make the Slytherin and Gryffindor houses "turn enemies into friends", the seeds had been planted as early as the beginning of November last year, and all that was left was to wait slowly for it to take root and sprout, and carefully watch over its growth, as for the fertilizer problem, we can only wait for the opportunity to come and see how they react.
The situation of the SG group is a bit strange at the moment, since Catherine announced the method of making the address book, anyone who has tried to parse the principle of the address book will find that there is an extra member of the SG group, but it has been almost four days since Ixisi got the address book, and he has not identified himself on it so far.
Catherine also knew that the "accident" that happened when she returned to school was the "culprit" of this situation, but when she sent out the address book, Ixisi did not explicitly say that she wanted to join, so she had to have a detailed discussion with him when she returned to the dormitory tonight to confirm his wishes.
After all, Catherine's first SG Group meeting of the semester was scheduled for Saturday night, and the purpose of this meeting was to give everyone an idea of Voldemort's methods, so in order to avoid the possibility of leaking Horcrux information, she had to determine whether Exxy was worthy of her trust. (To be continued......)
PS: I don't know what happened at the starting point last night, and I couldn't open it, so I had to postpone it until today
