Chapter 123: "Follower" or "Student"
"Professor! I am back! When Catherine pushed open the door to 17 Spider's Tail Alley, she was surprised to find that in addition to the black-faced Snape, there were two more guests in the living room - Dumbledore and Tonks.
Snape angrily told Catherine, who had not yet come to her senses: "Our beloved old headmaster is not prepared to stop your plans to travel abroad alone!" β
"However, you have to bring someone with you." Dumbledore stood up and smiled and gestured to the red-haired girl for Tonks.
Tonks hurriedly got up, but his face was dazed.
When Dumbledore proposed his plan to the Tonks last night, he hadn't decided who should train Doncaster, but when Snape suddenly came to him and asked him to stop Catherine, he suddenly realized that two things could be arranged together.
So Dumbledore went to Tonks' house after arranging the school's affairs and asked them about their wishes, but he didn't tell them that he had chosen who was Donker's Discipline, and only guaranteed it in the name of the headmaster.
The Tonks family thought it was Dumbledore himself, so they readily agreed, but when Tonks was taken to 17 Spidertail Alley by the Headmaster and found that the person who opened the door was a frosty-faced Snape, she suddenly felt that her end was coming.
But then, Tonks realized one thing, Snape was good at potions and Defence Against the Dark Arts, and Transfiguration was said to be a shortcoming, so Dumbledore probably couldn't arrange for him to train himself as a disguised Magus, right?
Tonks wanted to ask a question, but seeing that Dumbledore had been playing "eye war" with Snape as soon as he entered the door, she had to honestly huddle in the couch, trying to reduce her sense of storage until Catherine returned.
But what Tonks couldn't understand was why the atmosphere became so strange as soon as Catherine entered the door, and the three of them discussed things. And why is it related to yourself?
"If I need help," Catherine replied with an emotionless voice, closing the door, "I'll just choose Professor Snape." β
Snape raised an eyebrow, his expression slightly relieved, and then motioned for Dobby, who was about to crouch on the floor, to carry Catherine's luggage upstairs.
"No," Dumbledore explained with a smile, "Tonks isn't your helper, it's your retinue, an entourage who will help you get help when necessary. β
Catherine looked at Dumbledore with a blank expression. It took a moment to look at Tonks.
"What do you think? Miss Tonks. Catherine's voice was still emotionless.
"I don't know." Tonks replied in a panic, "I messed up this operation, the Headmaster gave me special training, and then he brought me here, sayingβ" She looked at Dumbledore hesitantly before continuing, "The Headmaster said that the people who live here can point out what I lack. But I didn't expect him to mean you. She glanced at Snape hurriedly, then looked at Catherine with a dry smile.
"What about your wishes?" Catherine still had a solemn face, "Sue me for your own thoughts." Otherwise, you can just leave. β
Tonks was stunned, she didn't expect that the polite and amiable Catherine she knew during the Christmas holidays would have such an indifferent side.
"I didn't believe it." Tonks was stunned for a long time before he spoke. "But now, I'm kind of convinced that what the headmaster said was true."
"So." Catherine's expression softened slightly, but the question was still sharp, "Do you know the definition of 'retinue'?" β
Tonks shook his head honestly.
"Good." A slight smile appeared on Catherine's lips, "I like your confession very much. β
Tonks was puzzled.
"Because I don't need an 'attendant.'" Catherine walked up to Tonks and held her head up proudly, "But Professor Dumbledore can prevent me from traveling abroad alone unless I take you with me and teach you along the way, so your identity is actually 'student', and he is only speaking nicely for you to accept." β
Tonks looked at Dumbledore hesitantly, and when he touched his nose in embarrassment, he immediately understood that Catherine was telling the truth.
"So, if you want to learn from me, you must follow my orders." Catherine narrowed her eyes slightly, staring into Tonks' eyes.
Tonks was stunned for a moment before he realized he should nod.
"First of all, you are not responsible for my safety, even if Professor Dumbledore gave you the method to call for help urgently, you are not allowed to call for help until I have given the order to call for help!" Catherine snapped out.
Tonks took a step back, swallowing his saliva and was about to ask, but Catherine had already spoken again.
"Second, in case of any danger, you must hide in a safe place at the first time, remember, it is 'hiding', not 'fleeing', you can't attract the attention of the enemy, you can't let the enemy find out that you have a relationship with me, and you can't have any resistance!"
"Ahh Tonks was completely stupid, she didn't understand why she had to "hide" at all.
"Thirdly, after 'hiding', you must observe, see the surrounding environment clearly, identify the enemy and reinforcements, find a place to hide, create conditions to get out of trouble, track and infiltrate the enemy camp, and keep yourself hidden so that no one can find out your whereabouts, understand?"
"Understood! But why do I have to hide, why don't you let me helpβ" Tonks said no more, for Catherine's expression told her that she had said it wrong.
"You're a burden now!" Catherine showed a cruel sneer, "Don't think that you are great if you have a rare talent, if you don't work hard enough, even if you have a good talent, you can't exert basic power." β
"Sue me! What are your talents? Catherine began to circle Tonks.
"I'm an Disguised Magus." Tonks said confidently, her hair instantly turning bubblegum-like pink.
"What's your specialty?" Catherine asked behind Tonks, her voice starting to grow odd.
"Hide and disguise." Tonks' tone became hesitant, as the reason why she was messing up this time was precisely because she didn't camouflage well enough in front of Bellatrix.
"That's your mission." Catherine walked up to Tonks, but the girl's face had become exactly the same as that of the new Auror, and her hair was the pink she had just turned on.
"Hello! I'm Nymphadora. Tonks, I prefer to be called Tonks. Catherine Tonks greeted her with a friendly smile and hearty greetings.
Tonks' eyes widened and she stared at Catherine in disbelief, even though she knew that the other party must have used a polyjuice potion to become like herself.
But Catherine's behavior and tone at this time were no different from herself, and Tonks seemed to feel that he was actually looking in the mirror for a while.
"I'm a disguised Magus, and my specialty is hiding and disguise, but I messed up the operation." Catherine Tonks said with a distressed look on her face, "The Headmaster says I need special training, but I don't know what I lack?" β
"Or should I say," said Catherine Tonks's tone suddenly unforgiving, "you don't understand what it means to hide? What is camouflage? β
"Am I not hiding and disguised like this?" Tonks was finally annoyed, and her face began to change, one moment Catherine, the next Snape, and the next Dumbledore.
"You're just showing what you're doing!" Catherine Tonks snorted coldly and circled around Tonks again, "That's just your talent, your instinct, you don't have any effort. β
"I have!" Tonks shouted angrily, his hair turning a dazzling fiery red.
"You don't!" Catherine said coldly, "You don't remember the behavior of the disguised object, you can't completely become another person, as long as you move, your whole body is flawed." β
"I'm just a little worse at tracking." Tonks retorted stubbornly, but her hair had turned a dull gray, and her face had turned back to its original appearance looking listless.
"If you want to be a vase, you can just leave without listening to my cynicism; If you still want to be an Auror, then answer me," Catherine walked back to Tonks, staring sternly into the other's eyes with her true face, "Do you obey my orders and do them resolutely?" β
"Yes." Tonks hesitated for a second before answering.
"Do you dare to swear," Catherine suddenly smiled wickedly, "an unbreakable oath?" β
Tonks was dumbfounded, she wanted to look to Dumbledore for help, but her neck couldn't turn at all.
"Sue me," Catherine asked, stretching out her right hand and smiling contemptuously, "you dare?" Still don't dare? β
Tonks gritted his teeth, but then reached out his right hand to shake Catherine's hand.
"Professor Dumbledore!" Catherine looked at the old headmaster and smiled coldly, "Would you allow someone else to be a witness?" β
"No, I won't." Dumbledore walked over to the two ladies and placed his wand on their clasped hands.
"When you leave this house, will you obey all my commands unconditionally until you set foot in the English border again?"
"I do."
"Will you do everything in your power to teach me how to master and use my gifts, from the time you leave this house until you step into the English realm again?"
"I do."
Two thin, dazzling tongues of fire erupted from their wands one after another, wrapping around their hands like a bright red chain.
Dumbledore withdrew his wand, and the two ladies let go of their hands.
"Alright, it's time for us to go." Catherine put down her hand and immediately announced, her face returning to its former gentleness.
"Ahh Shall we go now? Tonks was shocked and asked, "But I didn't bring anything?" β
"That's exactly the first thing I'm going to teach you, how to track a person unprepared." Catherine laughed, "It's also about finding out how many flaws you have." (To be continued......)
