Chapter 050: What the Hell Is Going On?
What the hell is going on in Chapter 050?
Mrs. Hodge called the game a halt, and the rest of the team and some spectators ran down, only to find Catherine and Harry still clenched together despite standing up.
"I'm not going to let go." The two suddenly said at the same time.
"You're all hurt, why are you still holding it!" Someone asked.
"Because ......" Before they could finish speaking, Mrs. Hodge arrived.
"Release!" Mrs. Hodge commanded loudly, her yellow eyes staring at them like angry eagles.
Catherine and Harry chose to compromise as they slowly let go of their hands, revealing a small golden ball curled up with silver wings lying between their palms.
"The Golden Snitch!"
"Oh my God, they can't have caught them at the same time!"
"No way, the Golden Snitch has a physical memory."
"It recognizes the first person to touch it with their hand."
Madame Hodge was surprised, but she quickly came to her senses, picked up the Golden Snitch in her gloved left hand, and pointed her wand at it.
The Golden Snitch's wings stretched out again, and it fluttered out of Mrs. Hodge's palm, and everyone looked at it, including Catherine and Harry, who wanted to know who had caught the Golden Snitch first.
But, to everyone's surprise, the Golden Snitch did not fly in front of that person, but flew back into the middle of their right hand, which they had not yet had time to part.
"Ahh The crowd let out an exclamation!
Before Catherine and Harry could understand what was going on, the Golden Snitch was taken by Mrs. Hooch and they were rushed to the school hospital.
"Okay, just fix it for a week, and you'll be fine." In the medical wing, Catherine and Harry's right hand, from shoulder to tip, was held in place by Madam Pomfrey with a strangely shaped splint and tightly wrapped in bandages, immobilizing.
"Is there no other way?" Harry frowned at the hand hanging to his right.
"You're just spraining, just hold it in place and you'll be fine." Madam Pomfrey said mildly.
"What he means is that if we wrap it up like this, our right hand won't be able to do anything." Catherine explained for Harry.
"Who told the two of you to grab each other's hands when you fell down, you two didn't have a whole hand, you're already lucky! What else do you want? Madam Pomfrey shouted angrily.
Harry shook his head hurriedly.
"Now you can leave, but remember, it will take a week to take it apart, understand?" Madam Pomfrey has reverted to her gentle appearance.
βYes,madam!β The two of them hurriedly replied loudly.
"Catherine, thank you for saving me." Harry said as soon as he left the medical wing.
"What did I save you?" Catherine didn't seem to understand what he was saying, "Unfortunately, if I had caught the snitch at the time, I wouldn't have had to do it like this." β
"Catherine, you're ......," Harry was about to say something, but suddenly a group of people rushed at the end of the hallway, and it was the Weasley twins who were the heads, and they shouted from afar.
"Catherine! Harry! Thank you so much! β
"What's going on?" The two looked at each other, only to find that the other was equally puzzled.
"We've opened a bet on which of you will catch the Golden Snitch!" Fred happily patted Catherine on the shoulder.
"But no one stopped you and caught you at the same time, so we won all the bets." George put his arms around Harry with the same joy.
"Quiet!" Madam Pomfrey shouted from the school hospital.
The people from both houses immediately hugged their respective Seekers and left.
"What was the result, and who won?" Catherine asked.
"Nobody won, 170:170, it's a draw."
"Madame Hooch added 150 points each, and she sentenced you and Harry Potter to catch the Golden Snitch at the same time."
"What a pity! If Harry Potter's broomstick gets out of hand, it would be nice if you caught the snitch, and it was our Slytherin who won. β
Catherine smiled and didn't explain, but when she was about to go back to the dorm room to change her clothes, she was stopped by Draco and the others in the large living room of the first year.
"What the hell is going on?" Draco was the first to ask.
"Don't sue me, you can't see it?" Catherine asked with a sneer.
The others were silent, and after a while, Daphne asked, "So who is the good guy and who is the bad guy?" β
"Of course the dean is not a bad person!" Pansy said immediately.
"That meansβ" Theodore said, taking off his glasses, "Professor Snape is saving Harry Potter!" β
"Gross!" Blaise retched exaggeratedly, "It's disgusting to think about!" β
"What the hell is going on?" A similar conversation took place in the Room after dinner that day.
"It's definitely Snape who wants to hurt me!" When it came to who the bad guys were, Harry shouted.
"With Quirrell's cowardly appearance, how can he be a bad person?" Ron also makes valid arguments.
"But what I don't understand isβ" Hermione's opinion was not so categorical, "and why would Professor Quirrell stand up to Professor Snape?" β
"Why don't we ask?" Catherine said.
It was true that a number of people thought of asking Quirrell, but the portrait in the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom said that he had been asked by the headmaster to talk, and as for Snape, almost everyone thought they couldn't get any useful information except to be scolded.
"What the hell is going on?" As soon as she left the Room of Requirement, Catherine went straight to Snape's office.
And as everyone expected, Snape opened his mouth with condemnation.
"Do you think you're comparable to those winged reptiles, or do you think you can turn you into one of those flying heroes who only glow in two months? If you're trying to smash your head to pieces, you should have gotten together with the lions who can only rampage! β
Snape's voice was as elegant as reciting Shakespeare's sonnets, but the content made those who heard it feel the urge to beat him beyond recognition.
"Soβ" Catherine interjected, taking advantage of Snape's breath.
"You don't have to come to my class next week!" Snape looked at her coldly and said, "All classes." β
"Are you sure this is punishment?" Catherine pressed in disbelief, her entire right hand was now immobilized by Madam Pomfrey, and she couldn't take Potions class at all.
"Or do you want to help me with these tasks?" Snape tapped the quill in his hand at the assignment he was grading.
Catherine first looked carefully at the parchment that was almost covered in red ink, then walked into his room, dragged out a high wooden stool and sat down across from him, picked up a stack of homework that Snape had not yet corrected, and looked at it carefully.
"Are you idle?" Snape looked at her with an eyebrow.
"I've got plenty of time," replied Catherine, without looking up, "until you tell me what the hell are you doing this morning?" β
"What if I say I'm protecting Harry Potter?" Snape's eyes narrowed slightly.
"I believe it." Catherine smiled.
"Why?" Snape's voice couldn't help but grow in surprise.
"Because of the way you look at my face." Catherine said with a smile on her head.
Snape immediately became flustered, and his complicated expression began to change rapidly on his face.
"The door is behind you!" It was still full of sarcasm, but the tone was not as calm as usual, "You can leave now!" β
"What if I don't!" Catherine looked up, her brown eyes full of a playful look.
Snape suddenly pursed his lips, and bruises appeared on his forehead, and when he was about to open his mouth to squirt out venom, Catherine suddenly lowered her head and continued to look at the homework seriously, seeing that familiar face, his anger disappeared in an instant, and his expression became complicated again, but then Catherine raised her head again and looked at Snape again with her brown eyes full of playful eyes.
βGETοΌOUT! NOW!β Snape's anger finally flares up.
βNO!β Catherine said with a bright smile.
Snape narrowed his eyes, then abruptly got up and walked over to Catherine, grabbed her uninjured left hand, dragged her out of the office door, and slammed it open.
As he turned to go back to grading his homework, the office door suddenly opened, and Catherine stood outside the door winking innocently at him.
"You didn't change the password!" She kindly reminded.
"Pounds!" Snape threw the door open again and changed the password, but when he turned again, the office door opened again.
"Professor, you know the famous Muggle fairy tale 'Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves'!" Catherine was very surprised, much to Snape's confusion, "I just said its classic line - 'Open Sesame!'" β
Snape frowned, it wasn't the password he had just modified, but it didn't stop him from slamming the door shut again, and changing the password again, and a few seconds later, the office door opened again.
"I'm just asking it to open the door." Catherine innocently pointed to the stone sculpture of the serpent lying limply on the ground.
Seeing Snape's gaze, the serpent immediately raised its body and shook its head vigorously in an attempt to defend something, but it still had a stone slab stuffed in its mouth, so it couldn't make any sound at all.
If it weren't for the fact that he knew that the snake eagle could not be dismantled or broken, Snape would have been eager to throw an "Arvada life" at the traitorous fellow.
"Are you still going to keep me in?" Catherine asked with a smile.
She was answered by a fourth slamming of the door, followed by a "thump" from behind the door, and when Catherine tried to get the serpent to open the door, the door to Snape's office finally wouldn't open.
"Looks like he's really angry!" Catherine pushed the door and found that the resistance behind it was very high.
The giant serpent stone sculpture on the door of the Potions classroom next door cautiously stuck out its head and nodded, and the giant serpent stone sculpture that was still lying on the ground rolled its eyes weakly, seeing this, Catherine couldn't help but show a bright smile again.
"Speaking of which, you're really obedient tonight!" Catherine crouched down and patted the serpent's head on the ground, "Am I supposed to reward you with something?" β
It was immediately shaken, quickly raised its head, and pointed at the slate in its mouth with its tail.
"Want to take it off?"
Both serpents nodded quickly, but Snape's shouts rang out.
"Shut up!"
So, Catherine could only shrug helplessly and get up to leave.
