arereadilyidentifiablebytheirtail,

asitlookslikeawormstickingoutof

theirrearend. Theyarenotopenly

hostiletowardshumansunlesstheyare

hungry,butpackshavebeenknownto

attackwhentheysmellblood. Giant

ratscanbefoundprettymuchanywhere.

exceptionallymeatyaroundthe

midsection. Infact,pigratswouldmake

exceptionallivestock,iftheyweren‘t

sodangerous. Theyareamazingly

resilient,andcanbefoundalmost

anywhere. Theytravelinpacksoften

ormoreandgenerallyattackonlyto

protecttheiryoungordefendtheir

territory. Iftheyarehungry,however,

theybecomeveryaggressive.

Floaters

Floaterslookalittlelikeajellyfish,

excepttheyaresolidanddon‘thave

tentacles. Theirfleshisabrownish

color,andismoistandfirmtothe

touch. Theyhaveastalkcomingoutof

whatispresumablythefrontoftheir

body,althoughthereisnodiscernable

eyeorsenseorificeontheirbodies.

Attheendofthestalkisaflat,

dinnerplateshapedareainlaidwith

nastyspikesandspines. Adventurers

whohavetangledwithfloatersreport

thatthestalkwillturnandfollowthem

around,eveninareasofalmosttotal

darkness. Floatersareusuallyarounda

meterandahalfinlength,andare

narrowerthantheyareround(presuming

thatthesensorystalkisactuallythe

frontofthecreature). Theyfloat

anywherefromahalfametertotwo

metersoffoftheground. Floatersseem

tolikedank,moist,darkplacesandare

oftenfoundincaves. Floatersseemto

attackindiscriminately,althoughitis

unclearwhethertheyattackforfood,

defense,orsomethingmoresinister.

Floatersattackbyhittingthingswith

theirstalk,allowingthehundredsof

spinestotearthroughfleshandarmor.

head-knobcomingoutofitsbody,butno

eyes. Setnearthebottomoftheheadknob

isamouthfilledwithrowsof

razor-sharpteeth. Flailerstravelin

groupsofeightormoreandshowhigh

intelligence,attackingwithadvanced

tactics. Itisunclearhowintelligent

thesecreaturesare,ortowhatextent

hangopendrooling. Theyattackeither

bybitingorbeatingthetargetwith

theirfronttwolegs. Centaursarevery

rare,andcanusuallybefoundinpacks

offiveorsixdeepinsidecavesor

otherundergroundplaces. Theydon‘t

alwaysattack,andwillsometimes

observeadventurers. Iftheyperceive

somethingasathreat,however,they

willsinglemindedlyattackituntilit

dies.

aremoreresistanttoradiationthan

youraveragehuman,‘turnedferal‘after

thebombshit,andpacksofthemnow

roamthewastes. Inaddition,thereare

afewdomesticatedpoochesstillout

there,andcoyotesstillmaketrouble

fordomesticatedanimalslikechickens.

Wolves(GreyWolves)

Greywolvescanbeeitherwhite,gray,

black,oranymixbetweenthese. They

sandabout120to160cmtallatthe

shoulder,andhaveadistinctivecall.

Theyarehighlysocialanimals,andthe

packisbasedaroundaleadmale,called

the‘alpha.‘ Theentirepack,except

forpregnantandnursingfemales,hunts,

oftenusinghighlyrefinedtacticsto

takedownprey. Wolfpacksare

territorial,andnormallydonotstray

intoeachother‘sterritory. Whenthey

feelthattheirturfisthreatenedby

anything-wolves,otheranimals,or

humans-theywillattack. Contraryto

popularbelief,wolvesavoidhumansand

theirlivestock,andwillonlyattack

whenthereisnoothersourceoffood.
