Chapter 4 Digging Cordyceps Sinensis (Part I)

After shouting frantically for a while, Cai Hongming and the others continued to walk forward, and saw from a distance that someone was digging Cordyceps on the mountain, and piles of small mounds had been dug out of the grass, obviously they had been dug up over there.

Although Cai Hongming and the others came to play, they didn't care how much cordyceps they dug up, but they always had to dig a little bit to have a sense of achievement. There must have been no cordyceps in the place where the men had dug up, so they walked to the bushes on the other side.

Cordyceps grows not only on grasslands, but also in bushes, under trees, and on soft ground.

Because of the different places where it grows, Cordyceps sinensis is also divided into several grades, including dam grass, forest grass and snow mountain grass, among which snow mountain grass is the most precious.

The Tibetan name of Cordyceps is "Yezha Gongbu", which literally translates into Chinese as summer grass and insects.

In the "New Materia Medica" written by Wu Yiluo in the Qing Dynasty, it is recorded that Cordyceps sinensis has the function of protecting the lungs, benefiting the kidneys and stopping bleeding, and dissolving phlegm and coughing. Its winter is in the soil, and its body is as alive as an old silkworm, and its hair can move. In the summer, the hair is unearthed, and the body is turned into grass, if it is not taken, it will be reverted into insects in winter.

In the West. Ba Qing in the Tibetan Nagqu area still has a story about Cordyceps:

Once upon a time, a king had two sons, the eldest of whom had a bad heart, and in order to compete for the throne, he devised a poisonous plan to kill his clever brother while he was on a trip to the mountains. When the mountain god learned about it, he turned him into a worm in order to protect his brother. When the boss found out, he cast a spell and turned into a mountain eagle to eat the bugs. But the bug is very clever and burrows into the ground, and grows a grass tail that blends in with the grass. Never to be found again.

The old man was in a hurry and finally died helplessly.

The kind-hearted younger brother also saw through the red dust because of this. I don't want to inherit the throne, I would rather use my body. Contribute to the world.

This incident touched the mountain god, and in his body, which had become a worm, he was injected with the elixir of immortality. Such a miraculous story has touched many people in the past. Therefore, many herdsmen in Baqing dare not and cannot bear to dig Cordyceps. There are even some people who are worried, not to mention going up the mountain to dig, and even when they encounter Cordyceps while walking, they think it is "Langmuduo" (bad luck). Shouted "Bah, Bah" and ran away quickly.

This story is similar to other regional rumors that Cordyceps sinensis is the hair and intestines of the mountain gods, and it is a reminder not to dig Cordyceps. It's a pity that the world is reincarnated, and by now, people have long lost their sense of awe. That's why so many good things are artificially harmed.

Cai Hongming and others burrowed into the bushes and carefully searched for Cordyceps.

There are no traces of anyone walking here, so theoretically you should be able to dig up a lot. It's a pity that it backfired, and after digging for a while, except for the sharp-eyed Songna, she dug up two cordyceps. None of the others reaped the rewards.

Digging Cordyceps is a very tiring job, not only to bear the pressure of high altitude, but also to kneel on the ground when digging carefully, and you may not be able to find a tree even if your eyes are cramping.

Cordyceps was not found. The group couldn't help but feel a little frustrated. After digging for a while, a group of rookies who had never done this kind of work before were also tired, so they looked for a place. Drink saliva and take a break.

"Songna. Do you have Cordyceps here, why haven't I dug it for a long time? Cai Hongsheng asked Songna.

"Of course." said. Song Na also took out two cordyceps dug up from her coat pocket and showed them to him, leaving Cai Hongsheng speechless.

"Songna, do you have a good way to find Cordyceps quickly?" Cai Hongsheng asked again. He saw that she had dug up two cordyceps at once, and there should be some secret, so he wanted to ask for advice.

"The guru said that you have to be sincere, and you can dig up Cordyceps with sincerity." Songna said with a serious face.

Cai Hongsheng almost vomited blood when he heard this, what else do you need to dig Cordyceps, this is not nonsense.

The little chubby Su Cancheng drank water, and his little eyes looked around. Suddenly, he saw that there seemed to be a cordyceps growing under the bush not far away, so he quickly put away the water bottle, ran over quickly, and gently dug it up with a pickaxe.

"Huh"

After digging for a while, the pickaxe seemed to dig into the roots of the tree, and the hard ones couldn't dig anymore, so he cleaned up the surroundings of the roots and directly pulled up the roots and cut them off. Only then did he realize that there was not only one Cordyceps tree at the root, but also several roots growing on the rotten pimples and hollowed-out roots of the roots. When he saw it, he couldn't help but shout in ecstasy, "I finally dug up Cordyceps." ”

Cai Hongsheng saw it and said that it was really shit luck, and he was indignant in his heart, thinking that he must find a handful of cordyceps nests to dig later.

Su Cancheng cut the roots of the tree, took out all the cordyceps that grew between the roots, and counted them, there were six in total, two of which were insects that had not yet grown grass, that is, zombie insects that did not grow grass hairs in them.

Cordyceps sinensis is a combination of insects and fungi. The worm is the larva of the Cordyceps bat moth, and the fungus is the Cordyceps fungus.

In the middle of summer, the small bat moth leaves thousands of insect eggs on the flowers and leaves, and then the moth eggs become small insects, burrow into the moist and loose soil to absorb the nutrients of plant roots and stems, and gradually raise the body to be white and fat. At this time, the spherical ascospores encounter the larvae of the Cordyceps bat moth and burrow into the body of the worm, absorb its nutrients, and germinate hyphae. Fugal-infected larvae gradually wriggle to a distance of two to three centimeters from the surface, where they die on their heads and tails. This is the "winter worm".

Although the larvae die, the fungus grows day by day until it fills the entire body.

In the late spring and early summer of the following year, a small purple-red grass grows on the head of the insect, about 2 to 5 centimeters high, with a pineapple-shaped sac shell at the top, which is called "summer grass". Cordyceps is the most fully developed at this time, and the active ingredients in the body are the highest, which is the best season for collection.

And like Su Cancheng's two zombie insects that have grown white hair and have not yet grown into grass, they belong to winter insects, although they have no medicinal value if they do not grow into grass, but some people collect them, but the price is very low.

Taking out the Cordyceps, Su Cancheng was not finished, took out a toothbrush from the backpack he was carrying, and brushed it directly on the soil-stained Cordyceps. After a while, the cordyceps sinensis was brushed clean, revealing the yellow body inside.

Good cordyceps sinensis is golden yellow on the surface and white on the inside, and it can emit a flavor of roasted chicken whether it is burned with fire or grass.

The cordyceps dug by Su Cancheng belong to the forest grass, the color is light yellow, and the size is not big, which is a very ordinary color, but he is also happy to be upset.

After taking a break, the group continued on their way. Suddenly, Cai Hongming saw that the tree he was resting on just now seemed to be a little familiar, so he walked over and picked the new leaves that had just sprouted on the tree and looked at it, it looked a bit like a wolfberry, and couldn't help but be surprised. The tree in front of me is at least a hug big, how many years does this have to grow! You must know that wolfberries are difficult to grow into trees, they grow very slowly, and wolfberries that are hundreds of years old are only thigh-thick, and it is unheard of to hold them like this.

Cai Hongming wasn't sure, so he called the others over to take a look.

Su Cancheng has an uncle who specializes in growing wolfberries, and every year during the wolfberry ripening season, their whole family will go over to help his uncle pick wolfberries. Every time his chubby body would lose several pounds because of picking wolfberries, he had unforgettable memories of wolfberries.

He walked over and picked a leaf, looked at it, put it in his mouth and chewed it, and then looked at the bark before he said with certainty: "It is indeed a wolfberry." ”

It's strange if it's a wolfberry, why is there only one wolfberry tree around? You must know that wolfberries bear fruit, and the fruits fall to the ground to grow, can there be no wolfberry trees around? But no matter how much they searched, they couldn't find a single wolfberry tree around. But it doesn't matter, since he knows that this is a wolfberry tree, Cai Hongming doesn't plan to let it go, picks up his mobile phone, locates it on the map, and asks someone to come over to dig it tomorrow. Even if it doesn't grow fruit, it's good to take it home and eat the leaves.

In his hometown of Nanzhou, there is a dish of blanched wolfberry leaves, which is very famous.

After positioning, Cai Hongming and the others continued to walk forward. After walking for a while, I felt that it was not easy to find Cordyceps with a large number of people, so Cai Hongming suggested that everyone should separate and find a direction to find it by themselves. You might be lucky enough to find Cordyceps.

After listening to this, everyone felt that the idea was good, so they each found a direction and left. (To be continued......)
