Chapter 470: The Whereabouts of the Original

Because he was worried that Chu Yuhong's body would recur, Chu Chenxun did not follow Yu Fei to Kyoto.

Qi Zhi's flight was a little later than Yu Fei, so when Yu Fei arrived, Ma Shangdu, who came to pick him up, couldn't see the "Yongle Canon" for the first time, and couldn't help but feel a little regretful.

The two waited at the airport for more than ten minutes before Qi Zhi got off the plane.

What he was holding in his hand was the thin book that Yu Fei said was suspected of being the "Yongle Canon".

Of course, a box was carefully added on the outside.

Yu Fei took it and wanted to open it for Ma Shangdu to see, but was stopped by Ma Shangdu. "It's disrespectful to open it here, and the weather will have a bad effect on its preservation, so let's go back and open it later."

At this time, the discussion of the eleven copies of the Yongle Canon donated by St. Petersburg University has come to an end, and now it is more about discussing the search for copies of the Yongle Canon, and some people even put forward the original copy of the Yongle Canon to be found!

When Ma Shangdu and the others walked into the venue, it immediately caused a sensation, and it was obvious that Ma Shangdu had already released the news that Yu Fei had discovered a volume of "Yongle Canon".

Yu Fei couldn't help but slander in his heart: If this thing is true, forget it, if it's not right, then you will be a big loser! This happened without an instruction.

He didn't know that Marchandu had deliberately released it. He feels that Yi Fei's research and discovery of antiques have made great contributions to antique collection, archaeology and even historical research. He should be known and respected by the world, and should be given the corresponding status and treatment. That's why I deliberately took this opportunity to push Fei to the front of the stage.

"You kid, if you don't see me for a few days, you'll get some moths for me, if this thing is wrong, I'll see how you end up." Dong Dechang walked over and whispered.

Yu Fei said with a bitter face: "Uncle Dong, don't blame me for this, okay?" I wanted to show the book to you and Brother Ma, who would have thought that he would make such a big battle? ”

"Alright, stop complaining. Let's get your stuff to the podium. Dong Dechang said.

In order to identify Yu Fei's book. The conference was also deliberately interrupted, and several calligraphy and painting appraisal experts and scholars of the "Yongle Canon" were publicly recommended to jointly conduct the appraisal.

Although the jacket of the book has fallen off, there is a lot of information on the pages, so the identification work is not complicated at all. Soon, several experts unanimously concluded that this book was indeed one of the copies of the "Yongle Canon"!

For a while, all the participants gave a standing ovation and expressed their appreciation and gratitude for Fei.

This made Yu Fei a little cramped.

At this time, an old man about sixty years old walked in front of Yu Fei.

"Young man, young and promising, I want to thank you on behalf of my teacher." The old man stretched out his hand and said.

Yu Fei was confused for a while, and said in his heart, who are you, and who is your teacher?

Seeing that out of Fei's doubts, Ma Shangdu hurriedly stepped forward to introduce.

The old man's name is Luan Minggui. He is an expert in the study of the Yongle Canon. And his teacher is the famous Qian Shuzhong!

According to Luan Minggui's recollection, in 1972, Qian Shuzhong gave him a graduate proposition in the workshop of the "cadre school", that is, to spend ten years researching and sorting out the "Yongle Canon"! Under the guidance of Qian Shuzhong and his wife, Luan Minggui spent a full twenty-five years. Finally, he researched and published the book "Yongle Canon Index". In the process, Luan Minggui even resigned from his job.

This made Yu Fei very impressed. He couldn't settle down to do scholarship himself, and he had great respect for the older generation of scholars who did it.

"Old Luan, don't say that, you're going to torture me." Yu Fei hurriedly said: "You and Mr. Qian are both people I admire, and I should thank you if I want to say thank you." ”

The reason why St. Petersburg University donated these 11 copies of the Yongle Dictionary is fundamentally because of the warming of relations between China and Russia.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia and other CIS needed to seek support from China. And this goodwill is ultimately reflected in all aspects of economic and cultural exchanges.

Today, I will focus on the whereabouts of the original copy of my "Yongle Canon".

There have always been the following five speculations about the whereabouts of the original Yongle Canon:

First, it is believed that the fire of the Qianqing Palace was destroyed in the Qing Dynasty. But this view is problematic. Because judging from historical records, the "Yongle Grand Canon" disappeared after Longqing in the Ming Dynasty. Therefore, whether the Qing Dynasty still had the original copy of the Yongle Canon is itself a question. Of course, unless the emperors and ministers of the Ming and Qing dynasties kept this matter a secret. It seems like an impossible thing to do.

The second possibility is that it was destroyed at the time of the Ming Dynasty. When the Ming Dynasty fell, Emperor Chongzhen hanged himself on the coal mountain, broke into Beijing, and plundered the treasures. For these broken scrolls. King Chuang must be unsightly, so it is very likely to be destroyed when the Ming Dynasty falls. This possible rebuttal is the same as the previous one. Why can't Emperor Longqing see the whereabouts of the original after that?

The third possibility is that it was destroyed by the Wanli fire in the Ming Dynasty, which can be roughly the same or similar to the first and second, most of the ancient buildings were wooden structures, and it was very easy for a fire to occur. If a fire breaks out, it is very difficult to extinguish it. The original of the more than 10,000 copies of the "Yongle Canon" may have been burned in the fire.

Yu Fei was noncommittal about the destruction, and did not participate in the discussion. If the original is ruined, is there any point in arguing about how it was destroyed?

The fourth possibility is hidden in the wall of the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City. The Imperial Palace is a place where ancient books were stored. So it's possible. But the question arises again, if it is true, then who is going to hide the "Yongle Grand Canon" in the palace of the Emperor Shichen? What exactly is his motive? Playful? Or to escape the war? None of this is known.

The fifth possibility, as Luan Minggui argued, is that the Yongle Canon is hidden in the mausoleum of Emperor Jiajing, that is, the Dingling Tomb of the Ming Tombs. There are many reasons for this.

The first is because Emperor Jiaqing likes the "Yongle Canon" very much. There were two emperors in the Ming Dynasty who liked the "Yongle Canon", one was Ming Xiaozong, and the other was Ming Shizong, that is, Emperor Jiajing.

In comparison, Emperor Jiajing's affection is deeper. Because he has achieved the level of "one or two in every few cases". In the fire in the palace in the 36th year of Jiajing, he issued three or four orders in one night to rescue the "Great Canon"; After that, he decided to "re-record it".

Since Emperor Jiajing loved the Yongle Canon so much, was it possible for him to let it be a martyr for himself? This is a very possible thing, after all, the ancient emperors attached great importance to their own posthumous affairs, and what they had before their death must also be after death.

In particular, Emperor Jiajing went to see his mausoleum several times before his death. He cared so much about his mausoleum, could it be to prepare for the storage of the "Yongle Grand Canon"? If this is the case, then it can be speculated that when he ordered the re-recording of the "Yongle Canon", he had actually decided to take the original to his own grave.

The second reason is a point-in-time problem. The re-recording work began in the 41st year of Jiajing, and even after the Jiajing Emperor hung up, the re-recording work continued.

Emperor Jiajing died in December 1566 and was buried in Yongling in March 1567. In other words, Emperor Jiajing's death was three months before his burial. And on April 15, Emperor Longqing, who succeeded to the throne, rewarded the re-recording personnel of the "Yongle Canon". When the re-recording was completed, history is unknown.

There is a time difference in this, is the reason why Emperor Jiajing was buried late is to wait for the copy of the "Yongle Canon" to be rerecorded, and then bury the original together?

Among these five possible speculations. The first three are no longer verifiable as damage theories.

The Palace Museum has measured the area and actual use area of the Imperial Palace Palace, although it has found several secret rooms, but it has not found the original copy of the "Yongle Grand Canon".

What makes more people agree is the theory of burial. After all, there are indeed many coincidences and doubts.

However, the verification of the fifth hypothesis is much more troublesome. Because until now, the tomb has been closed and has not been excavated.

From the perspective of the principle of excavation of ancient relics in the world, as long as it is not a rescue excavation or necessary, it is not possible to excavate ancient relics.

Other detection methods have also come to mind, such as cinnabar exploration. The Yongle Canon uses red and black pens, of which the red pen is cinnabar, which is radioactive. Can we use this to probe the existence of cinnabar to determine whether the original of the Yongle Canon exists in the Dingling Tomb? However, the actual situation is that the amount of cinnabar used in the "Great Canon" is simply not enough to probe it. So I had no choice but to stop it.

Hearing this, Yu Fei suddenly had another thought.
