Chapter Eighty-Six: Sleepless Nights
"Mr. Augustus, please advise me in the days to come." Thor's sea-blue pupils shone with joy, and the candlelight on the table reflected his handsome face.
"Your talent is very good, and if you have a chance, I can teach you some lightning spells." Augustus smiled slightly and nodded.
Thor looked at Augustus a little confused, and was about to speak. In the middle of the teacher's seat, Dumbledore coughed twice, and the entire auditorium gradually fell silent.
"Welcome!" Professor Dumbledore said, his beard glistening with the light of the candles, "Welcome to Hogwarts for the new school year!" I have a few things to say to all of you, and one of them is very serious, and I think it would be better to make it clear before you get lost in this meal."
Dumbledore cleared his throat and continued. "After they searched the Hogwarts Express, you must have known it. Our school is currently hosting a number of Dementors from Azkaban, who are here to carry out official duties with the Ministry of Magic. ”
An order from the Ministry of Magic? In this way, these Dementors are orderly, but because they haven't been following the news lately, Augustus doesn't know what the Dementors have been taught.
"They are stationed at all entrances to the school's grounds," Dumbledore continued, "and I must make it clear during their stay here that no one is allowed to leave the school without permission. Dementors shouldn't be tricked into playing tricks or disguises?? Not even the Cloak of Invisibility. He added without expression, and Harry and Ron looked at each other. Dementors are inherently unaware of what a request or an excuse is. Therefore I warn each and every one of you: do not give them any excuse to hurt you. I'm counting on the prefects, and the Slytherin prefects, to make sure that no student comes into conflict with the Dementors. ”
"What the hell are the Dementors doing at school? Dumbledore was so generous as to let these damn guys into our school. Malfoy cursed in a low voice with a look of obscurity, and then muttered.
"Don't you know that Sirius has escaped from prison in Atskabane, and the Dementors have come to capture him." Lilian's face was serious, and she said verbatim.
"Oh? Sirius? Why did he come to Hogwarts? It's weird. Malfoy had a puzzled look on his face.
"If as expected, it should be related to Harry, it is said that he was Harry's godfather before, but later defected to Voldemort, and killed Peter Pettigrew in that accident, this escape should be because the Dark Lord wants to kill Harry, so the Dementors are stationed at Hogwarts?" Augustus told him what he knew.
"That's true, Sirius's main purpose should be to stay at the school, and Dumbledore had to compromise with the Ministry of Magic for Harry's safety and allow these bastards to enter, which is also a helpless move." Lillian nodded in agreement.
"Even so, Dumbledore shouldn't have allowed these creatures to be stationed, I really can't have a good impression of Dementors, is it still necessary to fear Sirius under the protection of so many teachers? It's ridiculous. "Loki is clearly dismissive of the so-called Sirius.
"It's a pleasure," Dumbledore continued, "this year, I'm delighted to welcome two new teachers to our team.
"The first is Professor Lupin, who readily agrees to fill the void in the Defence Against the Dark Arts course."
There was some sporadic and less enthusiastic applause. Only the students who had been in the same carriage as him on the train applauded, and Harry was one of them. Professor Lupin sat in the middle of all the well-dressed teachers, looking particularly shabby.
"Oh, it's funny to have another person who has to give his life to Defence Against the Dark Arts." Loki muttered with a smirk in his eyes.
"As far as my parents know, this Professor Lupin should have some strength, and Dumbledore also selected him after a lot of screening, so don't be fooled by his appearance." Lillian had some affection for the new professor.
"If that's right, this Professor Lupin should be in the same class as Harry's parents, but I don't know what their relationship is." Augustus nodded.
"Indeed, when Professor Lupin was younger, he was almost always inseparable from Sirius, Peter Pettigrew, and Harry's father, Jaime, and had a pretty good relationship." Thor clearly knew a little more about the inside story, and briefly explained.
"Wouldn't Harry be complacent, given the relationship between Professor Lupin and his father, he would try his best to take care of him in Defense Against the Dark Arts class, and wouldn't he be extremely partial to those of us who were in the same class." When Malfoy heard this, Lima reacted, and his face turned cloudy, as if he had imagined a miserable life in the future.
"Look at Professor Snape." Suddenly, as if he had noticed something, Loki quietly pointed to Snape in the teacher's seat, and everyone looked at each other. Potions teacher Snape stared at Professor Lupin along the instructor's long table. Everyone knew that Professor Dow Snape had always wanted to be a Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, but Malfoy, who knew Snape well, was also surprised by the distorted expression on Snape's thin, gray-yellow face. That expression was more than annoyance, it was hatred.
"Snape and Harry's father should have been in the same class when he was young, and if I'm not mistaken, they should have formed a feud when they were students, and they have carried it all the way to the present." Thor seemed to be unusually knowledgeable about the previous teachers, and explained lightly.
"I can't see it, but you know all about this gossip quite clearly." Loki had a smile in his tone. Thor glanced at Loki lightly, but didn't say anything.
"As for the second teacher we appointed," after the not-so-enthusiastic applause given to Professor Lupin had subsided. Dumbledore continued, "Well, I'm sorry to tell you that Professor Kettleburn, our teacher in the Conservation of Magical Creatures class, retired at the end of last year to have more time with the rest of his little mischievous. However, I am pleased to say that it was none other than Rubeus Hagrid, who had agreed to serve as a teacher in addition to his duties as a gamekeeper. ”
"Hehe, I'll just say which teacher made such an interesting teaching material, the monsters of the monsters, it's really eye-opening." Augustus touched his forehead helplessly. Looking at Hagrid, who was red in the teacher's seat, he was quite speechless.
The stars shine as deep and bright as the depths of the ocean, and the sky at Hogwarts is particularly stunning tonight.
