Chapter 26: The Unknown Road
After the final exams, the annual holiday was approaching, and after packing up all the supplies and books in the dormitory, Augustus walked out of the Slytherin common room alone and went to the lake outside the castle to enjoy a rare holiday time alone.
The undulating surface of the lake is as shiny and flat as a smooth mirror, from time to time a few birds fly from afar, skim the blue water, splash a few lovely waves, the branches of the lake sway silently with the breeze, and the faint golden sunlight passes through the branches and leaves and falls on Augustus's slender hands, forming a circle of perfect golden markings.
Not far from the lake, Harry and his party were hurrying out of Dumbledore's office, noticing Augustus on the grass, and all three of them were speeding towards Augustus. Augustus touched his forehead a little helplessly, it seemed that something must have happened again. These three people are like a huge attraction to all accidents.
"Mr. Augustus, this time the matter is serious." Without waiting for Augustus to speak, Harry said to Augustus with a solemn face.
"We just learned from Hagrid that there was a man who lured Hagrid with a dragon egg and obtained a way to subdue Lowe, and if it weren't for the Philosopher's Stone, who would want to know how to deal with a three-headed dog?" Hermione then added, "And the three of us just went to Professor Dumbledore, and Professor McGonagall said he wasn't at the school right now, which was a coincidence, both in terms of time and otherwise, today was the perfect time for that man to steal the Philosopher's Stone!" ”
"So, what are you three going to do, the professors won't believe you, and you've decided to personally stop the man who wants to steal the Philosopher's Stone?" Augustus looked at the expectant trio and asked lightly.
"Can you come with us, if you're here, even if that person is Voldemort himself, we're pretty sure." Harry was a little embarrassed and pleaded with Augustus that if Augustus could join them, the operation would definitely be rewarding.
"It's not a good habit to put your hope in others, so I'm going to lie down with you this time, hoping that next time you can rely on yourself instead of always asking others for help." A smile tugged at Augustus' lips as he agreed to Harry's request.
Harry and the three exchanged happy looks, "Then we'll meet on the third floor of Hogwarts at ten o'clock tonight!" Harry had agreed a time for Augustus, and the three of them walked briskly out of the lake toward the castle. The wind began to blow by the lake, and a slightly cold cool breeze blew Augustus's blonde hair, looking at the three people who left, Augustus's eyes revealed a hint of thoughtfulness.
In the blink of an eye, it was half past nine in the evening, and Augustus walked out of the dormitory alone, through the Slytherin common room with a warm green flame, and down the staggered hanging staircase of the castle to the third floor, where Harry and the three had been waiting for a long time.
"Something went wrong, we ran into Neville halfway through, but luckily nothing unexpected happened, Neville was already taken care of by Hermione." Harry pushed his glasses and said to Augustus.
Augustus nodded, and the four of them headed for their destination. At the staircase on the fourth floor, the four of them were about to step on the stairs, when suddenly Peeves floated in front of them, seeing Augustus and his party, the next second, Peeves opened his mouth, Augustus pulled out his wand, and a light red light shot out from the wand, Peeves's already wide open mouth was closed at once, and he struggled in the air to fly in another direction.
Seconds later, they were outside the four-huddled hallway—the door had already cracked. "How. See," Harry whispered, "it looks like the man has made it through Lowe without any problems." "Seeing that ajar door, they seem more aware of what they are about to face.
With the creak of the door opening, a low bark immediately rang in their ears. Lu Wei looked at the four uninvited guests in front of him, with a hideous look in his furious eyes, and a harp that had fallen to the ground in the open space not far away marked that the people who had passed in front had obviously been gone for a long time.
Harry picked Hagrid's flute and put it to his mouth and blew it. He couldn't blow out of tune, but as soon as he blew the first note, the big dog's eyes began to droop. Harry was blowing almost non-stop. Slowly, the barking of the big dog ceased—it staggered a few times, fell to its knees, and then fell to the floor and fell into a deep sleep.
"Keep blowing, don't stop." Ron reminded Harry as the four began to walk towards the trapdoor. As they approached the three huge heads, they could feel the hot, smelly smell of the big dog.
Augustus opened the trapdoor, and it was dark and flickering, bottomless, and the light in the room seemed to be completely absorbed when it arrived, and the vision was unknown.
"Go down first." Augustus looked at Ron and Hermione and motioned to both of them, Harry still playing the flute, and Lowe leaning on the clearing, his three groggy heads.
Ron was the first to jump down, and after a while, Ron's somewhat hoarse voice rang out from inside. "No problem!" He shouted at the hole, which now looked like a speck of light the size of a postage stamp. "It's a soft landing, you can jump!"
Then Hermione jumped, and Augustus took Harry's flute, and in the seconds the music paused, the big dog roared again and began to writhe, but as soon as Augustus had played the flute, it fell back to sleep. Harry crawled over the big dog and looked down through the hole. There's no bottom down there. After a moment's pause, Harry jumped in.
Augustus played the flute as he stepped back and walked to the trapdoor, Augustus put down the flute, turned around and pulled the trapdoor and jumped into the darkness, the roar of Louwe above his head was still close to his ears, and all four of them had jumped into a soft existence.
"Honestly, I'm glad there are these plants here." Ron said.
"Thankfully!" Hermione screamed, "Look at you guys!"
She jumped to her feet, struggling to move towards a damp wall. She struggled because as soon as she fell, the plant stretched out snake-like tendrils and wrapped around her ankles.
"Don't struggle." Augustus reminded the three Harry, "This is the devil's net, and the more you struggle, the tighter it will become." Just relax, and he will automatically let go. "Demonstrate to them, and the devil's net around Augustus slowly loosens as if he had lost his target, sending Augustus to solid ground.
Hermione and Harry apparently understood well, and as their bodies relaxed, the devil's nets around them loosened, and the two of them landed smoothly to the ground.
"Help me!" Ron was entangled in an increasingly dense net, and it was obviously difficult for him to relax his body in such a situation. Augustus reluctantly drew his silver wand, and a blazing flame erupted from the wand, and the devil's net, which likes darkness and dampness, dodged from both sides as if it had encountered a natural predator, and Ron struggled out of the dense devil's web, falling to the ground, splashing a cloud of dust.
In front of it is a stone corridor, and the view is unknown except for the cold ground and the stone walls on both sides.
