Otaku also play football! Interview with Japanese player Akira Ibayashi
A few days ago, one of the teams in the Japan Professional Soccer League, Tokyo Green, collaborated with the anime "Science Super Electromagnetic Cannon". In fact, the cooperation between anime and football teams is nothing new. Previously, projects such as Mito Hollyhock Team X "Girls and Chariots" and FC Gifu Team X "Agriculture and Forest" appeared in front of the public. However, it is the first time that a football team in the name of the capital has collaborated with an anime work.
This collaboration has not only attracted the attention of anime fans and fans, but it is also exciting news for the players of Tokyo Green, who belong to Tokyo Green. Because he has long been known to fans for his status as "Otaku of the J-League". Recently, some Japanese media have reported on him.
β Collaboration with "Science's Super Electromagnetic Cannon" has sparked an unimaginable response
Speaking of which, the realization of this cooperation is inseparable from many factors. First of all, the J-League clubs emphasize "strong ties with the local community" when they carry out external activities, so in the past, teams have chosen to cooperate with "animation related to the local area". On the other hand, the home of Tokyo Green is located in Tachikawa City, Tokyo, which is the main stage of the "Gakuen City" in "Science Super Electromagnetic Cannon". The Tachikawa City Tourism Association has collaborated with "Scientific Super Electromagnetic Cannon" many times before, so it is only natural that the local soccer team will join. In addition, in the last episode of "Science Super Electromagnetic Gun S", there was a scene based on the team's home stadium, which finally constituted an opportunity for the two to join forces. IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT IT SEEMS THAT IT WAS THE TEAM THAT TOOK THE INITIATIVE TO CONTACT KADOKAWA TO FACILITATE THIS COOPERATION.
The collaboration was well received by both football fans and anime fans, and some of the original jerseys sold through the partnership were sold out. It can be said that the popularity of the event exceeded everyone's imagination, and it also aroused strong repercussions in the club. And Jing Linzhang is naturally one of the representatives.
Q: When Jing Lin heard the news of this cooperation, how did he feel?
Jing Lin: I really like the "Some" series, so I'm happy from the bottom of my heart. I like the Catalogue of Forbidden Books of Magic, but because this collaboration is related to "Science's Super Electromagnetic Cannon", I re-read it about 2 weeks before the event started, and I think it's also great.
Q: A few days ago, when Tokyo Green faced off against Mito Hollyhock, it seemed that the theme song and ending song of "The Girl and the Chariot" and "Science's Super Electromagnetic Cannon" were also played.
Jing Lin: Since there are a lot of passionate songs in "Super Electromagnetic Cannon", it is really suitable for BGM when players enter the game. I don't think there's any disobedience" (laughs).
Q: Ibayashi has signed an agreement with the figure maker KOTOBUKIYA to partner with the figure? What happened to you?
Ibayashi: I was contacted by KOTOBUKIYA. It seems that they have previously negotiated cooperation with some athletes in various aspects. For example, marathon runner Kashiwahara and others are people who like anime. So it was only natural to find me, after all, that company is located in Tachikawa. So they asked me: Do I want to sign an agreement in the form of a figurine partner?
Note: Ibayashi has already received a "Osaka Taiga-theLastEpisode-" figure. In the future, he is expected to become the spokesperson of figures such as Harrow from "Wolf and Spices" or Asuna from "Sword Art Online".
β The past and present life of the "J-League otaku" Ibayashi player
Q: I would like to ask you about the past of Ibayashi. When did you first fall in love with football, and when did you first like anime?
Ibayashi: I've been playing football since kindergarten, and I joined a local club team when I was in the second grade of elementary school. As for animation, I guess I was in my second or third year of junior high school. The work that fascinated me about animation was the CODEGEASS series. At first, my sister and mother watched this in the living room at home, but I was not interested at the time, but I just thought, "Since they are watching, I have nothing else to watch." Then he glanced at it casually. But when I looked at it, I was surprised to find that "there is an animation work that can contain such a meticulous plot". Speaking of which, I like anime, and I'm basically influenced by my sister.
Q: Later, when you were a student at Minami High School in Hiroshima, you won the competition. Then I went to Kansei Gakuin University, and now I'm in Tokyo. Since then, he has become a real otaku.
Ibayashi: When I went to university, I started living on my own, so I started to take animation seriously (laughs). I can't see TV Tokyo anime in Hiroshima, but now I have the opportunity to see it (at Kwansei Gakuin University). And I also went to manga cafes to look for works...... After I went to Tokyo, I also went to Akihabara to visit the animate, and I was overwhelmed by the atmosphere: "It's Akihabara!" β
Q: Later, you posted a comment in a football newspaper saying, "The plot of "Girlfriend is unacceptable", and so your identity as an otaku spread among the fans.
Jing Lin: At that time, I talked to the reporter about animation a little bit, and the other party seemed to have seen "Photo Girlfriend" by chance, so I was interested. And then there were a lot of complaints, such as "the plot is too far away, there is no coherence", "the protagonist shoots too much", etc., but these are indeed a bit inappropriate......
Q: This is also your dedication to the plot? So did the other contestants know about what they liked about anime?
Jing Lin: I've been teased because of this, but everyone knows about it from high school and college to the current team. Instead, I'll give them a lease and say, "Look at this." "This kind of preaching didn't work much in high school, but in college, because of my publicity, quite a few friends liked animation, which was great. As for the current Green Team, there is no one who is interested......
Q: Are there any other J-League players other than you who are otaku?
Jing Lin: I haven't heard much about it. Legend has it that the Futami player of the Sendai Tanabata team is also a famous otaku, but I don't know if this is true or not.
Q: Indeed, when I checked the profile of ElGolazo's contestants, it was written in the profile of the contestants, "I like "Unheard of Names" and "Symphonic Psalms"? β
Jing Lin: Ah, I also like "That Flower" very much!!
