Interview with shiny female high school student voice actor Kito Yubuki
This summer, voice actress Kido Yubuki, who voiced the heroine of the famous anime "Tokyo ESP" and "Sword Dance of the Elf", has been attracting a lot of attention from fans as one of the new generation of voice actors who have just debuted in recent years. Representative works include "Even if it's a brother, as long as you have love, it's okay, right" Akiko Himekoji, "Golden Time" Chiba Oka, etc., Kido Yubuki conquered many audiences with his unique and charming voice. But she was born in 1997 and is still just an ordinary high school student, so how do you feel about her current situation? This time, let's go straight to Kido Ibuki and walk into her personal world together!
●Self-introduction and self-analysis of Kido Yubuki
Kido Ibuki: Hello everyone, I'm Kido Ibuki. A genuine high school girl (laugh). The personality is more self-oriented.,The disadvantage is that you always think about the bad and are very impatient.。 Also, I like my job very much, so I always do my part very quickly. My interest is to pluck my own ears, and I usually use my favorite bamboo ear plucker, cotton swabs have black and baby ultra-fine sticks. At the moment I am obsessed with collecting cute socks, and lately socks made of ultra-thin fabric have become very popular, and I am working on collecting them.
My friends usually call me "Kido-chan", but lately many people have called me "Ibuking". The name was chosen for me by the previous Homo economicus, and the title of the blog, "Goodnight Clothes Blowing Sensei", came from this. If you're interested, be sure to check out my blog!
INTERVIEWER You just finished shooting, how do you feel?
Kido Kidofuki: Looking at my photo of me facing the shade of the trees and waving a water bottle at the camera, you may feel very cool, but in fact, the sun is very hot because of the rainy season. But thanks to the sweaty work of the photographer and the staff, it was possible to take such beautiful and interesting photos.
Also, "Tokyo ESP", which was set in Tokyo, was an eye-opener! It's the first time I've seen Tokyo Tower up close. The next time I have the chance, I'd like to go up to the observatory.
●I feel very blessed to have played many roles, and I am studying every time I record in post-production.
INTERVIEWER You debuted in October 2012, and you're about to celebrate the second anniversary of your voice actor's debut.
Kido Yubuki: At first, I felt very difficult when I stood in front of the microphone and read the lines and acted, so I was very nervous every time I recorded. I'm still nervous, but I'm slowly getting used to it. When I was a kid living in Aomori, I learned about the process of creating zuò anime and the workflow of voice actors. But in fact, when I actually went to the recording site, I was often frightened by the realistic acting skills of my predecessors. So every time I go to record, I learn a lot and it is very exercised.
INTERVIEWER After you actually became a voice actor, what do you find fascinating and interesting about your job?
Kido Kibuki: I find it interesting to be a variety of characters in my work. Also, I think it's great to have the opportunity to meet all kinds of people through the characters and works that Guò voices himself. After receiving a lot of thoughts and feedback from people, I get a real sense of who I am as a voice actor. "It's great to have Kido voice this character," I feel very happy when I hear something like this once in a while. I will continue to work hard to bring you more interesting works, and I hope you will have fun.
●The most impressive work is "Even if it's a brother, as long as there is love, it's okay, right?"
INTERVIEWER What is the most memorable character or work for you so far?
Kido Ibuki: Sure enough, it's still the one I played in my debut work "Even if it's my brother, as long as there is love, it's okay, right?" Ji Xiaolu Akiko is the heroine, and her personality is also very lively, so the amount of lines is very large. And "Even if it's a brother, as long as there is love, it's okay, right" itself is a spoof comedy, and there are often situations where you have to finish a long line in one breath, just like a tongue twister. At first, I was very uneasy, because I always made mistakes in dubbing, and I often caused problems for the people around me. But the staff around me and the voice actors took good care of me and encouraged me from time to time, and thanks to them, I managed to dub Akiko Himekoji to the last episode.
In addition, Akiko is a brother who can't stand up, and I felt very shy when I dubbed the plot in the bathroom, but Hideri Kitamura, who voiced Nikaido Arashi next to me, saw it and said, "It looks so happy!" I'm going to do it too! "(laughs) And there are so many characters with unique personalities in the whole work, I feel like I'm going to be buried. I hope that the audience in front of the screen will like the heroine Akiko who I dubbed. I learned a lot of things during that experience of voicing Akiko, and maybe that's what I call growing up, so Akiko is undoubtedly the character I remember the most.
● Playing the heroine in "Tokyo ESP" and "Sword Dance of the Elves" will give you the opportunity to grow even further!
INTERVIEWER You voiced the heroines in the TV anime "Tokyo ESP" and "Sword Dance of the Elven Messenger", which began broadcasting in July, so did you feel a lot of pressure to be in charge of the main characters in both works at the same time?
Kido Yubuki: I'm purely happy, and the voice work is really fun. However, since these two are popular works, I feel quite stressed in order to respond to the expectations of fans. However, Rinka Urushiba from Tokyo ESP and Claire Roger from Sword Dance of the Elves are two characters with completely different personalities, and it was a good opportunity for me to improve my voice acting skills, and I will try to show everyone a new side of me as much as possible.
- Actually, Rinka Urushiba and Krell Roger have one thing in common, which is that they are naked when they speak for the first time in the anime (laughs).
Kido Ibuki: There are other things in common! Let's say they're both about the same age as me! So there are many places where you can substitute yourself when dubbing. Maybe there are some parts that only I, as a 16-year-old, can pass on to the audience.
- What an energetic voice actress for a high school girl.
Kido Ibuki: Do you really think so? I will continue to do my best to convey this energy to everyone!
●The first encounter with a supernatural work, and after I started reading it, I couldn't help but cheer for the heroine!
INTERVIEWER How did you feel when you read the original Tokyo ESP?
Kido Ibuki: The original author, Hatsuya Segawa, has another work called "Food Spirit-Zero-", and I like this work very much. I read it when I was in elementary school, but I didn't understand it much at that time, and I just thought that the world view was very grand. "Tokyo ESP" is a work of supernatural combat, and since I have never been exposed to this genre before, I couldn't stop reading the original novel, which was so interesting.
Also, since the story is set in Tokyo, sometimes I can't help but wonder if such a terrible thing will happen in reality. Rinka Urutaba was no match for them at first when she fought the Abilities, but watching her slowly grow I really wanted to shout "Come on!" for her! ”。
● The graphics and music are as great as the movie, and as a fan of "Food Spirit-Zero-", I can't stop wanting this work
INTERVIEWER How did you feel when you saw it with your own eyes?
Kido Yubuki: The graphics are very beautiful, and the music is very good, which makes me feel like I'm watching a movie. The scene of the glowing fish is very dreamy and beautiful, and Shibuya Station and the Diet House are exactly as they are depicted in real architecture. The action and battle scenes make me feel very cool, and there are a lot of characters from "Soul Eater-Zero-" in the first episode, which is really good for me as a fan. But it's a pity that Rinka only appeared in the final scene...... Anyway, heroes are always the last to appear (laughs).
- You said you were pessimistic when you introduced yourself, but you seem to me to be optimistic, huh? (laughs)
Kido Yubuki: (laughs) Also, there is a sense of urgency when the capable people occupy the Diet Chamber. There are also a lot of voice actors who are in charge of exterior painting, so it's like watching a movie (laughs). Whenever someone around me starts to show off their acting skills, I stare intently, hoping not to miss a chance to learn.
● Playing a role in the era of acting, majestic in battle.
- Did Kibuki have any points when voicing Rinka Uruchiba?
Kido Ibuki: The superintendent told me to "play a real role", and when I read the original work, I also thought that Rinka was a handsome woman, so I used a deeper voice than usual when dubbing, making people sound more like a "big sister". But at the same time, Rin Hua is an active high school student. Rinka will not hide her joys and sorrows when she is with her friends, and Rinka will be majestic during battle scenes. However, when it comes to love, she seems to be relatively innocent. When Tokyo Taro said to her, "I'm happy to have Rinka by my side," her face turned red, which I thought was cute and attractive.
- Rin Hua often takes care of her unreliable father, and she is a very sensible child, so what about you?
Kito Kifuki: It's the exact opposite of me. Not only do I not have the ability to traverse any inanimate objects like Rinka, but my hair is not as white as she is (laughs). Girls' high school students are really one of the things we have in common. But Rinka is a girl with a full sense of justice, and if she sees someone being entangled by a delinquent teenager, I think she will save people as soon as possible, and I'm afraid I'll be overwhelmed by this. There's a lot of things in Rin that I don't have, so I look forward to her.
●"Skull Powder Kick" was a dream!?
INTERVIEWER Can you name one of the most memorable scenes and lines from Tokyo ESP?
Kido Kifuki: First of all, when Rinka fights, she jumps up and kicks the opponent's head with her foot in the head, which is called "head cover powder kick", and I can't shout "head cover powder kick" every time at first. However, someone told me that I was able to "pause a little after the head cover". In fact, it has always been my dream to shout nirvana like this to defeat the bad guys, and it is great to be able to achieve the real thing this time.
There is also the line at the end of the third episode, in order to save Purple who is in crisis, "Real heroes don't lose to revenge, right?" "I was also very impressed. Maybe it's because I rerecorded that sentence so many times (laughs).
The advice I get the most is "be more handsome anyway", so I often think about how to read the lines to look more handsome. I was also struggling with my daily life, and finally came to the conclusion that I watched all kinds of action movies.
●My favorite thing is not the anime character, but the voice actor behind it!?
- Is there any other character you like more than Rinka?
Kido Ibuki: I think it's Rinka's father, Gentian. The voice actor is Toru Inada, and he's a very interesting person, almost like a real-life gentian (laughs). When we first met the voice actors, I didn't know exactly who was who, but when I met Toru Inada, I could tell at a glance that he was playing Rinka's father, Gentian. He also holds a fan with the words "No. 1 in Japan" written on it, and says "I'm my father" as he fanned it. Occasionally, he would deliberately turn the pages for me while I was desperately practicing my lines, and do some pranks, like a real father and daughter.
INTERVIEWER This is no longer a favorite character, but a favorite voice actor (laughs). What was the atmosphere like at the recording site?
Kido Ibuki: The atmosphere is very harmonious during the recording and during the break! The voice actors are a little different in age, but they're still very friendly. However, when it comes to the battle or the scene of the strict sù, the atmosphere will suddenly become tense, and it is such a relaxed scene.
● Thrilling unfolding and supernatural battles are the highlights of this work!
INTERVIEWER What is the appeal or highlight of the anime "Tokyo ESP"?
Kido Ibuki: Sure enough, it's still a battle scene for superpowers, and it's very forceful. Each of them drives their own unique abilities to fight each other, and I think that's going to be the biggest attraction. In particular, the battle in which the superpowers occupy the Capitol Chamber, please take a look! There are also mysteries hidden behind the awakening of superpowers, including Rin Hua and Kyotaro, so I hope you can enjoy such a thrilling story!
●Please witness Rinka's growth and love affair together.
INTERVIEWER Is there anything special about Rinka?
Kido Ibuki: Rinka, who was originally an ordinary girl, gained superpowers because of a strange incident, and until she was called "White Girl" by the people around her, please witness her growth experience. And the love triangle between Rinka, Minami, and Kyotaro will also be very interesting! Finally, I want to say that the BGM of this work and the theme song and other music aspects are also very good.,The BGM when the parliamentary chamber collapsed was very romantic.,The BGM when Rin Hua came to the rescue was very handsome.,Like a hero.。
In the first episode, I was really moved when the BGM of "Food-Zero-" sounded! Beautiful painting, good music, and a dizzying plot, this work is full of charm, so please watch it!
