――First of all, what was your first impression when you heard the theme song "ヘタリアン☆ジェット"?

Nanikawa: As with the previous theme songs, this time the lyrics have been added to the bright style of the song, but they seem to have a lot of meaning. It's a theme song that doesn't have any theme to speak of, and it keeps its traditional style (laughs). You can think about nothing when you sing. However, some of the lyrics are related to the previous theme song "まるかいて地球", "はたふってパレ?ド", and "まわる大地ロンド". In the previous theme song, Italy crossed the hills and the sea, and this time it turned into a song that flew off the earth. After listening to this, I had a sudden realization, and when I finally returned to Earth, I was ...... That's the main thing about this song anyway. The anime is back after a long hiatus, and the theme song also implies that meaning.

――It's related to the previous theme song, and it's also related to the anime, so it seems to be a song with a lot of depth.

Nanikawa: If that's the case, that's true. The style of the lyrics itself is really the same as before (laughs). I have long guessed that the last sentence at the end must be "Hetalia~". The previous endings were all "Hetalia~", and this time it is also "Hetalia~". Seeing that it was the same as before, I was also relieved, and I felt so nostalgic.

――When you listen to this song, you will feel that "this is the world of Hetalia".

Nanikawa: yes. At the end of the Season 5 recording, Hiroki Takahashi said, "Hetalia is like a relative of my family, and we will see each other again in a short time. "So I don't feel lonely when I say goodbye. At that time, it was not decided whether or not to produce a season 6 of zuò, but it was finally time to meet again, so let me sing this song with memories.

――After such a long time, I can hear you play cute Italy again, and everyone is looking forward to it.

Nanikawa: I haven't played a role like Italy recently, and I basically haven't had the opportunity to sing a character song with a voice like Italy, so I felt a little uneasy about singing the theme song this time. However, when I sing, I will recall the world view of "Hetalia", and the staff will also stir up the atmosphere before the recording, so that I can sing happily.

――It's been a long time since you've sung as an Italian, have you spent a long time trying to get a feeling?

Nanikawa: yes, it took me a long time to find a feeling. Usually I sing in my own name, but if I accidentally become a giggle voice, I have to hide this when I sing, and control myself. However, when I became Italian, I was able to go all out, and I even had to sing with 250% giggles, and I was able to unleash all the things I had suppressed so far. Whenever the staff says, "You were cute," I feel shy and embarrassed (laughs). Because it's been a long time since anyone said that about me.

――What was the hardest part of singing as a character?

Nanikawa: It's a tough battle every time I play Italian songs, especially this time, because the KEY of the first source is very low, and I need to raise the source and record it many times. Not only did I have a hard time recording myself, but I also caused a lot of trouble for the staff. After the KEY is upgraded, the structure of the song must also be adjusted accordingly...... However, the songwriting of "Hetalia" places a lot of emphasis on the character, and I couldn't agree more, so everyone is working towards the same goal and constantly improving.

- Emphasizing the characteristics of the characters and not compromising on them is very much in line with the style of "Hetalia".

Nanikawa: The basis of singing is pronunciation. However, I am not very good at pronunciation, so I learned the pronunciation of many people who value the characteristics of the characters, which helped me a lot.

――This kind of character song with lyrics and rhythm is rare now.

Nanikawa: I've never heard of it except for Hetalia. There won't be anyone singing "Ooohohoh~" in the character song (laughs).

――Although the character songs of each work have their own characteristics, the lyrics of "Hetalia" are sure to include the language of a certain country or the characteristics of the characters as an important element, making the world more interesting.

Nanikawa: In the theme song and the main anime, I have spoken a lot of Italian, such as greetings and counting, even though it is just a few words. Even so, I don't speak Italian at all! I've been speaking Italian for 7 years now, and I should have been able to sing the whole song in Italian...... But I haven't even learned Japanese well, and I'm currently studying Japanese (laughs). All in all, I'm getting a little bit better every year!

――What are the most impressive sentences in "ヘタリアン☆ジェット"?

Nanikawa: I was very impressed by each of the verses, but as I said earlier, I was more impressed by the aspects related to the previous theme song. For example, a line from Season 5 says, "Aren't we all earthlings?" This sentence was added to the lyrics. The addition of lines is very much a reflection of the character of "Hetalia". It's also interesting that some of the negative terms can be converted into positive ones right away.

"When something very unfortunate happens, come and sing, and behold, isn't that solved?" I didn't have to worry about something unlucky, and I solved the problem in just two sentences, which is amazing! "When you encounter a spaceship, say hello with pasta, wine, singing and dancing." The first thing I did when I met the spaceship was to say hello (laughs). This song really only has the "up" and "he" in "Qi, Cheng and He", and, seriously, oh. The whole song is very simple and easy to understand.

At the beginning of the Hetalia series, the main purpose of the creation was to make it understandable and fun for children. Many years have passed, but the tradition has survived.

――It's all easy to understand, and it sounds very comfortable.

Nanikawa: In short, it has a very bright and joyful atmosphere (laughs). That's the beauty of Hetalia.

――Could you please recommend the biggest selling point of the whole song?

Nanikawa: The whole song is classic everywhere. This is a song that can bring energy and vitality to everyone, and all in all, I hope everyone will come and listen to it. Especially the depressed should listen to it. Although "Hetalia" is a funny work, the original work itself is very surreal. The animation ends in a place where people feel "huh, is this the end?", and there is no special explanation. However, the theme song sings the spirit of moving forward. It's like "living in the moment" (laughs). Therefore, I hope that everyone will get their hands on the CD as soon as it is released and listen to the entire CD.

Nanikawa: From season 1 to season 5, the story became more and more complicated, and I appeared less often. This Season 6 ...... Can Italy still play? It's really worrying (laughs). "If I don't sing the theme song this time, my sense of survival will become quite dangerous. When I'm recording, I think a lot, "It's finally come to this" (laughs).

In the 5th season of this anime, the Nordic team appeared as a new character, and this time there will probably be a new character.
