Inform the comrades! Interview with Sumire Uesaka

Sumire Uesaka elaborated on the world she was interested in. There are a variety of movies out there, but how did Sumire Uesaka enjoy it......? She brought a DVD of her recommended work!

[In order to watch old movies, I made full use of radio and television services]

I don't go to the cinema much lately. When I was a child, I didn't have to think about so many things, and I would always go to the big movie theater in Mirai 21 in Yokohama Port with everyone. But now I find that I am afraid of dealing with the audience around junior high school student groups, couples, families, etc., so I don't go at all.

However, you will still go to the old movie theater in Asakusa. There are some rare movies that are shown here, and the people who come to see them are people like me, so I feel very happy. We all gathered here with the idea that we should use this time to be healed, so the atmosphere was quiet. And because it is an old movie theater, you can encounter many works that can only be seen here. Recently, I've heard that the number of old movie theaters is decreasing, but I've learned a lot from there......

Radio and television services and satellite services are now more developed, so you can watch movies more freely. I think that the director I first liked was Mr. Kurosawa, and the reason why I liked him was because I watched works such as "Desuuzara" and "The Idiot" through the GuΓ² radio and television service, and I was about in junior high school at that time. As for the Ren Xia movies by Ken (Takakura) and Koji Tsuruta that I only watch occasionally, I can also see them every time I turn on the Japanese movie channel on satellite TV. And Ken-san is always slashing people (laughs). I thought, "This is a very convenient channel," so I always watch it. And if I were to compare Japanese movies and overseas films, I would still choose the former. Although I like to watch military-themed works, I'm still afraid of the kind of picture of blood splattered all of a sudden. Because I'm afraid of war movies, I won't watch them. Although Mr. Ken's movies also bleed, he wields a knife for justice. That's why I think, "I can only get a kind of catharsis from it!" "On the other hand, the work of 'Saving Private Ryan', where people are dying on either side, makes me feel bad...... Also, I accidentally watched a Hollywood movie where the scalp of a captive was peeled off, and at that time I thought, "I'll never watch a war movie in my life!" "As I tried my best to avoid watching this kind of work, I was basically watching Hong Kong movies, Russian sci-fi works, and old Japanese movies.

I've been buying a lot of DVDs for a while, and I don't buy them as hard as I have lately. The recommended "Zombie Kid" this time can only be purchased at Mandarake in Nakano, but the bonuses in it still attract me. As for the more critical plot...... I looked at a disc and thought, "Oooh! It's so nostalgic! Then I didn't read any more. I feel like it's just to satisfy the desire to shop, or to satisfy the possessive desire for DVDBOX. Heck, I think I'll read it seriously one day (laughs). "Alice" was given to me by someone else. Directed by Jan Svankmeyer, a Czech director, the work features a kind of doll that is unique to Eastern Europe and feels very poor. However, the girl who plays the protagonist Alice-chan is very cute, so I didn't feel any discomfort after watching it. And this movie does not use CG technology at all, it is shot with dolls, which makes people surprised or surprised. Recent movies often use CG, and many people are aesthetically fatigued, so I recommend you to take a look at this work. However, there are a lot of strange shots inside, such as a rabbit with a clock eating sawdust, a bottle of jam with a pushpin, and so on. So I don't recommend you to watch it while you're eating (laughs).

I don't think it's that hard to get a DVD any one, so if you can, I'd like you to check it out. Next time, I'll introduce other different works!

[Even people who don't know about the 80s can enjoy it]

In addition, Sumire Uesaka also recently released a record called "Sumire Presents 80s Idol Song Decision Plate", and the fifth single "Demon King γ«θ¨Šγ„γ¦γ”γ‚‰γ‚“" was also released at the same time, in this regard, let's take a look at more unknown sides of the political commissar!

Q: This time, we came to the "Diskunion Showa Song Museum"!

Uesaka: I've been here several times, and I've bought a CD from TsukasaIto. I'm here to think about what kind of songs I want to put on my selections. In short, it is a shop with a long history.

Q: In terms of recalling the idol ballads of the '80s, I thought it would be a good idea to release a cover album. However, Miss Uesaka collects original music sources when editing, why is that?

Uesaka: I'm a person who still wants to hear original tunes, that's my principle.

Q: This time, there is really only one song with a bonus song that is a cover of Shizuka Kudo's "MUGO".

Uesaka: Originally, I always thought that this song was called "MUGO·ん色っぽい", but the official name does not have "色っぽい", which is what I only knew. It seems that the original usage of "色っぽい" was used to advertise a cosmetic product. Therefore, the official name should be "MUGOΒ·γ‚“". And it's actually quite good that I was able to learn about this cooperation through this cooperation.

Q: If you look at the repertoire, there are both popular songs from the past such as "MUGO" and songs that are very familiar to everyone now. So what criteria did Miss Uesaka use to make her selection? I'm curious about that......

Uesaka: I was born as an adult, so I don't know exactly what the leaderboard was like at the time. And I don't have any memories of listening to TV drama theme songs, commercial soundtracks, stereos, etc. in the 80s. So I really just chose the songs that I thought were "pretty good" from the vast J-POP trend. So in a sense, it's just a layman choosing songs...... But it's all a nice tune, right?

Q: In other words, rather than looking at whether a song is famous or whether it is someone's masterpiece, it is better to say that Miss Uesaka chooses a song based on her first impression after listening to it.

Uesaka: Also, I think everyone has their own masterpieces, so I asked STARCHILD to provide "great songs that are hard to get started with"!

Q: Speaking of STARCHILD, Hiroko Moriguchi's "Mizui Star 恸愛をこめて" is the theme song of Mobile Suit Z Gundam, and it is also a big player on the chart.

Uesaka: That's it. I don't know much about the Gundam series, but when it comes to the songs used in the anime, I've included "愛はブーパラン" from "Lucky Star Kid 2" and "γƒͺγƒˆγƒ«β˜†γƒ‡γ‚€γƒˆ" from "Ranma 1/2 Fierce Fight".

Q: If you can include the music of "A Moment of Reunion" or something, then it is equivalent to collecting all the masterpieces of Rumiko Takahashi back then......

Uesaka: I just want people to complain like that! I want to hear people say, "Put this song in too!" "For people who knew the time, if they could give their opinion on the songs that I, someone who didn't know what was going on, then the original intention would have been achieved.

Q: I'm going to complain: Ms. Momoko Kikuchi has also released so many popular singles, why don't you put them in! (laughs)

Uesaka: But, I thought to myself: compared to "SayYes! Ms. Peach's "Starlight Movement" should be more in line with the characteristics of this record. And there should be fans who think so!

Q: So, for those who don't know what was going on at the time, how would Ms. Uesaka want them to listen to the songs?

Uesaka: It's all music that tastes good today, so let's listen to it first. I want you to feel the characteristics of the melody line. Also, I think there were a lot of sick lyrics in the 80s. I'm afraid of lyrics like "waiting for you in ambush", but since that song was popular at the time, it means that it was a way to express love in that era, right? I think that many of the songs included this time are works that can be strongly stimulated by listening to them, but I hope that you will listen to them purely without any baggage.

(Question: What do you think is the appeal of 80s idols?) οΌ‰

Uesaka: It's dramatic, I guess. The music is dramatic and grandiose. Recent songs give people a feeling of "a sense of happiness and happiness in the breeze", but in the 80s, there was a lot of "birth and death" and two-dimensional love atmosphere, so it was fun. And the songs are sung by very small girls, which makes me feel very unique.

[A single that can hear 2 completely different kinds of hell]

Q: So, Ms. Uesaka's fifth single "ι–»ι”ε€§ηŽ‹γ«θ¨Šγ„γ¦γ”γ‚‰γ‚“" was also released at the same time as the collection.

Uesaka: This is the most anime song style of any single released before. The song was provided to me by Mr. Hoshimi Iwahashi from ElementsGarden, so his work is also very realistic. And this is the ending song of the new OAD of "The Cold Ghost Lamp", so it has to be themed as hell. However, in terms of the impression, it looks like a digital color with very thin lines, and the RGB of the picture is very distinct. As for the production of the chorus "Underworld Communication ~Mu Qing Edit~", it is Mr. Shinji Wajima of the human chair, and this song feels more familiar, so it can be said that just listening to the beginning can make people feel that "this is the work of the human chair!" So it's a single that makes people think, "It's a completely different hell."

Q: What is the content of the music video for this song?

Uesaka: In the MV, Mr. Takasa Nagazaki, who voiced the role of the Enma King in "The Cold Flame of the Ghost Lamp", was invited to participate! Mr. Nagatsu, who plays the role of Enma-sama, appears with a high degree of completion. I wore two types of clothes, one on the ground and one on the ground, and I showed them in an interactive way. I'm afraid that only the first 5 seconds make people feel like an ordinary MV, and the next 4 minutes and 25 seconds are "as always" (laughs).

Q: If you listen to a single song, can you convey the theme of hell?

Uesaka: I'm not going to be able to act as a "voice actor who sings hell songs" in the future, and I'm not a "voice actor who sings metal music." However, this time, I accidentally tried the hardcore style of the song, and it also made people feel like "Merry Christmas!" "The feeling (laughs). Of course, the three songs in the regular version were composed by Mr. Hoshimi Iwahashi from ElementsGarden, so they also show a style full of speed. In one sentence, it's like "The Swan Song of the Battle Queen" (laughs). It's like shouting "Fly, sing, fight!" "It's a general style, and it's the type I rarely try. Therefore, it is very valuable. If you come to this song during the concert, you will definitely be involuntarily waving glow sticks. That's why I hope to be able to perform this piece in front of everyone one day.
