This project was originally proposed by Kingrecords Toshinori Otsuki and Sunrise Chairman Kenji Uchida three years ago when they had dinner together, Kenji Uchida and Toshiro Otsuki have known each other since Mobile Suit Z Gundam, but Kingrecords and Sunrise have not worked together at all for the next 15 years, so on a whim they came up with the idea of making an anime together. Then Akio Mishima was also called.
