Interview with the voice actor of the main creator of "Macross II".
As part of the popular classic Macross series, Macross II tells the story of the future world (later changed to the parallel world world) 80 years after the end of the first part. The production crew of the original "Macross Fortress", such as character designer Haruhiko Mikimoto and screenwriter Yuhiro Tomita, participated in the production, and the main production was centered on AIC. At the beginning of the story, a conflict breaks out between the Marduks who invaded Earth and the United Earth Army. And in the midst of such a war, the protagonist TV reporter Hibiki Kanzaki went to the front line to collect materials, and met the witch of the Marduk army, Isty, and this encounter was the choice of fate...
This work was born in 1992, so what kind of secrets will be hidden behind the work 22 years later? Recently, some Japanese media conducted an exclusive interview with the two main creative voice actors of this work, Takayama Tsutomu (Kanzaki Hibiki) and Kasawara Hiroko (Istie and interlude singer). Get scenes from the studio 22 years ago, the romance between the protagonists, and the charm of Macross from their mouths.
Q: Macross II is now finally available for release on Blu-ray. So, as the two protagonists of the work, Hibiki Kanzaki and Isty, can Mr. Takayama and Ms. Kasawara give us a look back at the story that happened at that time?
Takayama: So, let me ignite the journalistic soul of reporter Hibiki Kanzaki and interview Ms. Kasawara?
Kasawara: I don't remember the situation at all. So it's better to say that this time I watched the video with a very fresh feeling. After more than 20 years, I watched this work again.
Takayama: You seem to have commented on the sub-track with the phrase "I don't remember" (laughs). …… The two of us haven't had as much conversation as we do today in more than 20 years of dubbing. During that time, I was almost always listening to Yumi Fuyuma (Charbi) talking about it, and I was doing my best just to dub it myself (laughs).
Kasawara: Me too, and I didn't have any time to rest at that time. But it's not just this work, as long as I'm asleep, I don't remember anything as if my computer was turned off (laughs). The people around me should remember it better than me. But when I started voicing Macross II, I felt like I had a switch turned on and threw myself into the role of Isty-chan.
Takayama: Actually, I didn't audition for this work at all, but I went to audition for a completely different work. Can you tell me which work it is? "It's "Heaven and Earth Are Useless! "Oh.
Kasawara: Huh? This is completely different from this work, right?
Takayama: The director of that work is Kenichi Hachitani and the sound director is Mr. Honori Honda, so it's the same as this work. I went there and found a loud painting decorated with it. So I thought, "Hey, is this Macross Fortress?" What the hell is this, I really want to dub it! I watched the first part of Macross and read an anime magazine about the production of Macross II. So I thought to myself, "If there's a chance to make a successful audition, then choose this work." ”
So, about a week or so, the firm called me to inform me of the selection. My firm is a very small company, and no one has ever been given a very important voice role before. So the most excited person at the time was my agent, who shouted incoherently, "Decide it...... The state that was decided! As a result, I complained: "Don't panic this guy!" Then the agent said, "I have a stomachache," and I went to drink stomach medicine after the worst day. (laughs together)
※Actually, Takayama also participated in "Heaven and Earth Are Useless!" at the same time. auditions.
Q: What does Ms. Kasawara think of the Macross series?
Kasawara: I also watched the original Macross Fortress. The painting and the song are very good, and you can deeply feel the weight of the theme. I love the songs in this work, so I was very excited to be able to sing a song for it. …… It's just that it puts me under pressure: what level of acting skills can I perform? I've been acting in the troupe since I was a kid, but I'm not the type who really wants to show my head anyway...... (laughs)
Takayama: Stress? I was surprisingly calm and just said, "Ahh It was only at the beginning of the first episode that I was able to get a real sense of that. Before dubbing this work, I had hardly ever worked as a voice actor. After all, I'm a member of the JAC (Japan Action Club). The voice actor work I did before was nothing more than only one line in the 30-minute film. But for the first time, I was able to say more than two lines of lines.
Kasawara: That's amazing. The first long line is actually to play the protagonist of the "Macross series".
Takayama: To this day, I still haven't figured out why I chose for the sake of the people (laughs).
Kasawara: I guess it's a kind of fate.
■ Reckless Hibiki with introverted Estie
Q: How did Mr. Takayama interpret this teenager?
Takayama: Actually, I don't have any specific response to this. After all, I had never experienced the experience of "improving acting skills through thinking" before. It's not so much about acting as a sound, it's better to say that I was acting in my true colors at that time. I really didn't think much of it. At the beginning of the story, isn't it just a hot-blooded boy + a teenager with a little sign of rage? But he didn't actually intend to show such a character, he was just doing what he thought was right. From the very beginning, this resonance resonated with me.
Q: What do you think is the appeal of Hibiki?
Takayama: I think it's still his indomitable character. I didn't think much about it before I went to dub it, but judging by the results, this approach may have combined me with the character of Hibiru.
Kasawara: I took this opportunity to re-watch the work, and I felt that Hibiki was a very attractive boy. When it comes to today's animation heroes, I always feel that there are many of them who are bright-minded and thoughtful, and it's rare to see a protagonist like Hibiki.
Even from Estie's point of view, when she came to a world where she didn't understand the language, she was fortunate to meet Hibiki. I think it's because Hibiki is a tendon type who can't lie, that the two of them can communicate and make Estie's heart flutter.
Takayama: It's such a reckless guy. It should be said that it is blindly rushing.
Kasawara: I feel like he's just doing what he wants.
Takayama: I think so, too. If there is anything similar to a hero in Hibiki, then whether it is good or bad, it should be regarded as moving forward. He can confront his own producers, and he can meet with the Malduk Army in Isty without thinking about rushing in front of the enemy. This made me complain: "Do you want to be shot?" (laughs)
Kasawara: Although he has a reckless side, he is also constantly trying. And the process of his growth is also depicted. From a woman's point of view, she can have the urge to care for him and help him. In other words, it has the characteristic of stimulating the maternal instinct. Of course, if you look at it from a male perspective, you may have a different point of view.
Takayama: Hibiki has a charm that attracts Estie and Charbi. And this kind of charm is childish, and the personality that goes all out for everything. But ah, he still lacks a little boyish temperament. Hibiki can't ride the Valkyrie to fight, that's not okay. As a result, I didn't have a chance to join "Super Robot Wars". I wish he could drive the Valkyrie actively!
Q: So how did Ms. Kasawara interpret Estie?
Kasawara: At the end of the day, I'm not so much thinking about how to play a good role as I am a type of person who can easily get involved in the role. …… So, many of the characters I was voicing at the time weren't human.
Q: Hey!?
Kasawara: The characters I play are either aliens or robots, or some kind of less emotional. This is more or less similar to Isty, who can only sing battle songs. Today, I can talk to other people peacefully, but I was really a person who was not good at words. In this sense, I also dub according to my own personality. It's just that in the second half of the story, Estie also acts on her own ideas, and that's when I have to work hard to perform.
Takayama: Sure enough, Ms. Kasawara was still a little immature at that time...... As you just said...... Introverted?
Kasawara: That's it.
Takayama: Right? So I don't even remember the two of us having a conversation when we were at an exclusive event (laughs). …… I'm afraid Estie is also an introverted personality. After all, she was raised like a caged canary in the Marduk Army, so she also matched Ms. Kasawara's voice very well. Whether it's the characters or the voice, it makes people feel protective, and that's how I feel. …… As a result, she didn't follow Hibiki, which may be surprising (laughs).
■Now is the time to verify that triangle!?
Kasawara: Speaking of Hibiki and Isty, there are a lot of fascinating stories that have happened to these two people. Esty had previously lived in Marduk as a caged finch, and after meeting Hibiki, he took her outside to play. This plot is also very similar to "Roman Holiday". Looking back now, I feel again: this work was able to produce such a wonderful plot.
Takayama: I remember director Yatani once said to me, "It's because the main theme of this work is "Roman Holiday", so there is such a plot. Structurally, it revolves around Isty, who doesn't know much about the outside world, and Hibiki, a reporter who pulls her around. In the second episode, the two went to a lot of places together, and the intimacy between them was also very high. In addition, there is NETA in movies and manga such as Mouth of Truth.
Kasawara: That's right. There is a lot of intimacy between the two of them...... But that ending ...... When I rewatched it this time, I cried. As I watched, I couldn't help but think, "What are you doing!?" "In my memory, the relationship between Esty and Hibiki has a good feeling, but I can't remember it clearly, so I thought that the two of them came together at the last time. But when I re-watched it, I realized that the truth was different from my memory, and I immediately felt sad.
Q: Hibiki and Charbi become lovers, while Estie embarks on a journey to spread the word to the people of Marduk. That's the end result.
Kasawara: That's right. Estie had seen Hibiki and Charbi kissing with her own eyes. But Estie's heart did not waver...... Normally, this is unlikely. We think, "She should still have love for Hibiki, right?" At least it's a little shocking to see this scene, right? But she didn't show any expression. I've talked to Ms. Fuyuma about this topic before, and we both think it's amazing that Isty-chan didn't have any thoughts after seeing the kissing scene.
Takayama: That's right, that's right. Didn't Xiang also once complain about her: "Are you a natural stay!" (laughs)
Kasawara: I guess I'm just a natural person. However, this can also reflect the innocent side of Esther-chan.
Takayama: And Esty was following them at the time. And whether it was me, who voiced her, or Ms. Dongma, the voice of Charbi, they all sighed: "Hey? Kissing here? After being witnessed by Esty kissing the two, Hibiki turned around and said, "Estie!?" "This scene is very demanding on acting, and we also accepted acting guidance during the dubbing.
In the first performance, I tried to act in a tone of surprise, but the sound director said, "Don't do that, say 'Isty' in a slightly gentler tone." ”
In terms of my personal mood, I thought more to myself: "Oops, Isti saw it!" After all, in the second and third episodes, he also showed a good impression of Isty, and after being witnessed by the other party with Charbi, there will be a slight fluctuation in his emotions (laughs).
Kasawara:Hmm~
Takayama: It's really touching, there is Estie, who is as loving as a sister, and Charbi, who can quarrel like a brother. As a result, Estie is a character like a fart. And a character like Xiang should be more in line with the type of woman who "holds the gold brick in the third year of the female college".
Kasawara: What should I say about this~
Takayama: It's really embarrassing.
Q: For Hibiki, is it true that Estie doesn't feel reluctant to give up?
Kasawara: If it's Isty-chan, it's probably just a fresh experience for falling in love with someone else or something else. Therefore, she still has a good impression of Hibiki.
Also, from my point of view, if Estie and Hibiki were together, I think it would still be somewhat immature.
Takayama: You think this guy is going to rush forward no matter how good or bad things are, right? And he had Isty, who watched him from behind, and Charbi, who came in from the side. This is the position relationship between the three people. Therefore, Xiang won't think too much about the relationship between the two, and just know how to sprint. So when I was performing, I didn't actually deliberately think about their relationship issues.
Kasawara: Ah~ That's right. If you want to come together with the ring, women should be more proactive. But Estie is not that type of girl. Or that neither of them will take the initiative to confess the horn**.
Takayama: Hmm. However, there is still a sense of close connection between Hibiki and Isty.
Kasawara: In retrospect, the depiction of the relationship between these two people and the psychological changes is very natural, and I think it's very exciting. For Isty, the only person she can rely on is Hibiki, so she is obsessed with each other unconsciously. Hibiki had to hide Isty as an enemy many times, and in the process, he became interested in her and genuinely helped her. Both of them have no scheming, and they have cultivated a love relationship with pure feelings. However, this kind of relationship seems to be a little different from what we usually call "love".
Takayama: That's true. For example, when I went to the Moon Festival, the scene where Hibiki sang an idol song made Esty feel like a brother, which made people wonder: Is this feeling really a love for Isty?
Kasawara: Ah, that's right. …… So, for Mr. Takayama himself, who voiced Hibiki, what does he think of Isty?
Takayama: Hmm~ Oops, I'm going to be scolded for saying it (laughs). Well, to be honest, I didn't think about it that much (laughs).
Kasawara: (laughs), but I guess Mr. Takayama is too gentle to say which corner he likes**.
Takayama: No, no, no, no. (laughs). After all, in the process of my dubbing, I still think that the most resounding voice will be with Isty. However, now more than 20 years have passed, and what I have realized is that the ending of the two is "Roman Holiday". Then I suddenly thought, "Ah, I see. That's why I'm not with Isty. "Singer embarks on a journey to fulfill her mission, so even if she wants to stay, she can't do it in the end.
Kasawara: Didn't Esty say something when a few people were separated? For example, she only said to Charbi, "You're a good opponent". When I saw this, I burst into tears. It feels like it's ...... What a great line. All of a sudden, my heart was pinched.
Takayama: It's sad. People can't help but want to bring her over. So did Hibiki hear the phrase "You're a good opponent"?
Kasawara: No, I don't. This was addressed to Charby after all. It belongs to the conversation between women.
Takayama: At this time, Hibiki was next to Charbi, but he looked fascinated, this bastard (laughs). Well, it's better for this stupid man to be kept in the dark.
Kasawara: I think this aspect of Esty is very cute. Although there are only a few words in the last sentence, we can see that she recognizes the "powerful" of the other party, which also reflects her growth.
Takayama: Hibiki, Estie, and Charbi's triangular relationship is worth playing. I wish the story could have been extended a little longer!
Kasawara: But I ...... I still understand the reason why Esty left Hibiki.
Q: In the second half of the interview, could you please reveal the mystery?
Macross II has been around 22 years since its release in 1992. And to this day, there are still many fans who have a deep affection for this work. Recently, some Japanese media interviewed the heroes and heroines of this work, Hibiki Kanzaki and Estie's voice actors, Takayama Mitsumu and Hiroko Kasawara, to understand the stories hidden behind the works from their mouths. Tencent Animation has already introduced the content of the previous part to you, but what surprises will be hidden in the next part?
■What does Macross II mean to us?
Q: In the first half of the conversation, we talked about the triangle between the three main characters of Macross II, Hibiki, Isty, and Charby. As for the reason why "Esty chose to leave despite having a good impression of Hibiki", it seems that Ms. Kasawara has her own opinion.
Kasawara: As a singer, Esty must spread songs other than war songs to people in the future. She has a heavy mission on her shoulders, and I think that's why she chose to leave......
Also, I love singing myself, and I'm still working on it to this day, and I'm sure I'm more interested in singing than I love for Hibiki. I have always felt in my heart that songs are a sacred existence, and if the singer wants to pursue an ordinary life, he cannot continue to sing. Therefore, when facing the sound and singing, Estie can only have both fish and bear's paws.
Takayama: Ah, I see, is that so? Hibiki unwittingly attracted the attention of two women, Estie and Charbi...... But what kind of mood does Xiang have for the two of them? I wish the work could be a little more detailed in this regard.
Kasawara: When I look at the work again, I think it's very profound. I feel that if you dig deeper into the existing plots, you will be able to discover what other plots look like. Although Estie sang a love song, she didn't know much about love. And after a period of time, what kind of songs will she sing as an adult? I'm interested in that.
Q: In Macross II, Estie's singing played a very important role in ending the war.
Kasawara: That's right. I thought to myself, isn't the most important view of the world in "Macross II" "songs can have a huge impact on people"? At the beginning of the story, Estie couldn't sing. And in the second half, she has sung several tunes including "あなたを感じている-ミア·センテス·レン-", but it is still the most sung song "Love You Again" that impresses me the most. I think that's an Isty style song. And that feeling of sadness also makes me sad.
Takayama: This is also the best part of the high-tide section. And this also makes people sigh: it deserves to be "Macross Fortress". The high-tide part gives people a passionate feeling, which is not lost to the previous work "Do you remember love? 》。 Speaking of "Remember Love? It is a medium-tempo piece, giving the feeling of a gentle narrative poem, but the whole is very grandiose. I always felt as if a story had suddenly been added to the song, and this technique has always been amazing to me.
Kasawara: It's a mature tune. Just like the song style of "Macross Fortress", it is slender but luxurious. And the fact that I have the opportunity to sing songs in the film is really a precious treasure in my life.
Takayama: The first time I heard Ms. Kasawara's singing was at an exclusive event in Osaka and Tokyo. At that time, you sang "It's as quiet as it was 200 million years ago." Remember this?
Kasawara: Yes. I remember it very well (laughs).
Takayama: It was the first time I had heard the song "It's as Quiet as 200 Million Years Ago" live, and for me, Ms. Kasawara was a voice actor known during the days of "Galaxy Drift". "Ah, Miss Kasawara sings so well!" I was a performer, but when I listened to the song, I was completely in the rhythm of the audience.
Kasawara: I have won awards (laughs).
Q: It was during that period that Ms. Kasawara began to shine and became known as the "singer of the animation world". What were your thoughts when you were called "Singer" at the time?
Kasawara: At that time, did you think that she was called a "singer...... Seriously, I was a very cold person at that time (laughs). I don't think I fit that way.
Since I have been involved in this aspect of work since I was a child, the teachers of the troupe also asked me to behave well in class. As a result, I look at the problem from an objective point of view: "It's only because of my work that I'm put in the position of 'singer' now, and that's it." And I don't have the idea of "since I'm a singer, I have to work harder", after all, it's not this kind of person. So I don't really care about what people call me.
Takayama: Actually, I said it was a job need. What kind of job do you have, from the HR department (laughs)?
Kasawara: My job is probably to be called a singer (laughs). That's how I feel personally.
■The charm of Macross II that you can feel from Macross II
Q: What kind of work do you think "Macross II" belongs to in the "Macross II" series?
Takayama: War and singing merge into one, and in the end the song ends the war. Although this work does not reproduce "Remember Love? But the royal melody of "songs", "Valkyries" and "triangles" that the "Macross series" has is still the most faithfully restored. At least that's how I feel.
…… However, Macross II is very controversial, after all, it is called "black history" (laughs).
Kasawara: What does that ...... "black history" refer to? (laughs together)
Takayama: To put it simply, anime fans call the plot "a story that doesn't exist in the history of the work" a black history. If you search for "Macross II" as a keyword, then in addition to the official website and Wikipedia, the third place is "black history". The situation is so serious that we can't let it go unchecked (laughs). And now on the official website, there is a list of questions about "why is II called Black History", but it seems that it was because I said in the sub-track that "the work is called Black History", which led to the current situation.
Kasawara: ...... However, after all, this is also a work that everyone likes very much.
Takayama: After all, Hibiki is the only protagonist in the world of Macross who has never ridden a Valkyrie. Although there was a plan to pilot a fighter and finally defeat the boss, it was not adopted because it was too similar to the previous work.
Q: Do you have a favorite plot?
Takayama: From a male point of view, Macross II is a mecha action movie. There will be scenes where missiles destroy the Valkyrie's face and so on. And seeing this scene, it will also make people clap their hands and exclaim: "Ah, this is a robot work!" ”
When it comes to mecha action scenes, the chase scene between the protagonist and Feihu in the fourth episode is the most satisfying to me. Hibiki and Charbi go to the rescue of Isty and use the Valkyrie to escape, while Fihu chases after her. The music added by sound director Mr. Honda is also very good. Chacha, hiss, chacha...... When this mixed sound sounded, I had goosebumps all over my body.
Kasawara: My favorite part is (Episode 3) where Estie is taken to the festival by Hibiki. At that time, Isty-chan heard a song from Earth for the first time at a concert, and subconsciously raised her head due to excessive excitement. Her sparkling eyes at that moment were very cute. The sparkle in my eyes also seemed to suggest that there would be such a beautiful song, and I was deeply touched by that. It's obviously an anime, but that aspect is so moving......
Takayama: Do you feel like you're overlapping with the characters?
Kasawara: That's right. When I was performing, I focused all my energy on acting, but now that I look back, I realize that this character who was voiced because of fate actually has something in common with myself. I wonder if the audience who watched the anime at that time thought the same way?
And the setting of Isty's singing, I don't know if Lu Dao should be regarded as the inherent view of the world in "Macross Fortress", or the setting of the royal road...... All in all, I was deeply intrigued. Even from a woman's point of view, "ending the war by singing" is an ideal ending. In this day and age, if singing can really solve wars, then I am even willing to take on this role...... What could be better than that? It would be wonderful if my singing gesture could be passed down to future generations in the form of a video work.
■ Something you get from Macross II
Q: It's been 22 years since Macross II, so what could you tell us about the highlights of the review of the classics and those who are watching this work for the first time?
Kasawara: In Macross Fortress, there are songs, battle plots, and the growth of young people, and there are a lot of elements.
Takayama: It was a difficult task to fit such a rich plot into the length of 6 episodes (30 minutes each). The producer really integrated the plot well. It's because of the hard work of the staff that the various elements can be closely connected, and of course, there are occasional places where the plot is in a hurry (laughs). Such enthusiasm may be invaluable even if you rewatch it today. And for those who are watching this work for the first time, please don't have preconceived notions and remember to "What kind of black history is it, get out of the way!" (laughs)
Kasawara: This work is the result of the efforts of all the staff. Also, from the perspective of the times, I think this is also an extremely precious role. Through this work, we have completely restored the "era of luxury" (the era of Japan's bubble economy).
Gao Shan: After the work was turned into blue light, I thought with a lot of emotion: how beautiful the picture can be. It's a rare occasion to be able to show it in HD again. I also went to the all-night screening of "Macross II" in June this year (the "Macross Film Festival ~Early Summer 2014~" held at Shinjuku Theater 9 on June 6th). At that time, I was also thinking: although it is the quality of 22 years ago, the portrayal of the mecha into the wood is not inferior to today's works at all. Speaking of which, there are some qualities that can only be achieved by hand-drawing.
Kasawara: The painting is really beautiful. And the battle scenes are also beautiful. Even as a female audience, you will be impressed from the bottom of your heart...... If I want to say that my mood right now is similar to watching "Macross II" and drinking some wine (laughing together).
Kasawara: The details of the picture are also depicted with delicate brushstrokes, which makes you feel like you're appreciating the artwork. The works are all hand-drawn. It makes people sigh: it is really a luxurious era. For those who want to work in animation in the future, I would be very happy if I realized that there was a time like this in history.
Takayama: Yes. For example, the picture of Esty looking up during the ceremony, which Ms. Kasawara mentioned earlier. That's the proud work drawn by Mr. Haruhiko Mikimoto, right?
Kasawara: That's right. Estie is so vivid on the screen. As far as I can see now, I feel like I'm attracted to Hibiki too. At first, I was worried about his reckless words and deeds, but in the second half, I also liked him.
Takayama: Hey, is this talking about Hiroko Kasawara in reality?
Kasawara: That's right, it's me. I sighed again: Hibiki is really a charming hero. The human touch and realism in him...... From the very beginning, he showed us that he was an "unreasonable" protagonist.
And the excellent seniors and other people have provided a lot of help to Hibiki for this reckless character, allowing him to grow up. The process is also well described. And it's hard to see such a plot nowadays, and I'm afraid that only in that era of luxury can do this. Nowadays, it seems that the time for human resource training is being reduced...... From the beginning of joining the company, if you don't understand some of the unspoken rules of society, then you can't get through at all. That's part of the reality. In that era, the cultivation process of young people like Xiang was also fully portrayed.
Takayama: It's better to say that it's time to watch this work in this day and age.
Q: So what kind of work is Macross II for the two of you?
Kasawara: The singer who was able to appear in "Macross Fortress" has been my precious spiritual food to this day. I wish I could keep singing ~. In today's ever-changing society, it is not easy for me to continue singing while staying intended. I'm a person who does things at my own pace, and I can always stick to my own ideas, thanks to the good characters like Isty and the power of my work to support my relationship.
Takayama: Uh-huh. That's the reason. The work supports itself. As a voice actor myself, the only important characters I've been exposed to so far are Hibiki and characters from another work. And being able to star in the work "Macross II" until today, more than 20 years later, also makes me very emotional. Even when I passed away, the fact that I voiced Hibiki will always be a solid pillar in my heart.
During the dubbing, there were quite a few senior people standing behind me. For example, Mr. Shunji Yamada, Mr. Toru Furutani, etc. At that time, I was able to participate in the series of "Macross Fortress" that lasted for many years, and I was able to perform in front of so many veterans, and this experience also gave me confidence. I feel like there's no doubt that this work has become the foundation of my heart.
Kasawara: Hasn't Mr. Takayama worked on voice actors so far? I heard about it for the first time today, and I was a little surprised.
Takayama: Oh, I was filled with emotion when I looked back. It's amazing that someone like me with no experience can play this role well! I really didn't think much about it, and this kind of place where I don't know how thick the sky is is the most terrifying (laughs).
Hmm~ How to say it. It only took me about a year and a half from being a voice actor to taking over this role...... I was really in a state where I didn't realize I was standing in front of the microphone. I didn't expect to say such a long line at all. The first episode is basically non-stop. On the other hand, maybe it's because I don't know anything that I can play this role well.
Kasawara: That's amazing. There must be something that coincides with Hibiki in Mr. Takayama.
Takayama: What the hell am I thinking about performing? I know very well that my agent wants to complain in the back and say, "My stomach hurts!" Thinking about it this way, Macross II also embodies its own nature. Combining the advantages and disadvantages together, I am the person I am today. Oh, I feel as if I've said something profound.
Kasawara: (laughs)
Q: Thank you very much for your time.
