Reveal the secrets of the first highlights! Interview with the voice actor of the main service of "Blood Front".
The TV anime version of the combat manga "Blood Front", serialized on "JUMPSQ.", by Yasuhiro Naito, the author of "Gun God", will be broadcast from April. Set in a metropolis where the otherworld and the human world intersect, this work tells the story of the members of the secret society Lebra, which operates to maintain the balance of the world, and the blood family who are trying to dominate the world.
Next, three voice actors, Daisuke Sakaguchi, who played Leonardo Voc (a member of Lebra, who looks like an ordinary teenager) in the anime version, Riya Koyama, who played Klaus V. Reinhertz (the leader of Lebra), and Kazuya Nakai, who played Zap Renflo (a member of Lebra, with brown skin), will introduce us to the highlights of this work. The characters they play are the three people who walk in front of the promotional image, that is, the core members of Lebra. Looking forward to the early broadcast of the anime.
――What do you think of reading the original work?
Daisuke Sakaguchi: It's a very orthodox SF work, the setting is very detailed, and the feeling of the battle scenes reminds me of my favorite shonen manga before. And there are funny places everywhere that are easy to look at. Boys, in particular, should be very enthusiastic about watching it, and thus indulge in it.
Ritsuya Koyama: The stage of the story is obviously New York, but it's interesting that you can see kanji everywhere.
Kazuya Nakai: Following the rule of "shouting the name of the move before making a move", when the quest calls out "I'm going to use this move soon", kanji will burst out. It's a pleasure.
Koyama: The name of the move is in German, but it is in kanji.
Sakaguchi: This is a combination of Japan and the West. It doesn't seem like you can use German alone......
Koyama: It's already a win in itself! I've heard that kanji is very popular abroad, so foreigners must like it, right?
Nakai: Then why is the term "Foreigner" in English?! (laughs)
Koyama: I'm looking forward to seeing the wonderful table of Chinese characters in the anime.,I hope this work can be popular all over the world.,Summer you can see the cosplayer of the blood family all over the world...... Ah, they are enemies.
(laughs together)
Koyama: I'm sure that the cosplay of the secret society Lebla will definitely become popular.
Nakai: After reading the original work, I realized that it was a very solid work. The amount of intelligence in the lines and the finesse of the picture are all like this, and the setting of the world and the fate of the characters are portrayed very completely, which is easy to indulge in and eager to enter the story.
Hanguchi: At first glance, it seems a bit complicated because there are two world axes, the Otherworld and the Human Realm, as well as the settings related to the blood race, but except for New York, which is connected to the Otherworld, it is an ordinary world, so it is unexpectedly simple in nature.
Koyama: The purpose of our battle in Lebra is to maintain the balance between the other world and the human world, so that the two races can coexist. The ends and means are actually very simple.
――Now that you've started recording, what do you think of actually appearing?
Nakai: I had already seen the original work before recording it, so I had a deep understanding of the characters, but the understanding in the mind of Superintendent Matsumoto was even deeper.
Sakaguchi: The overseer already has the final finished product in mind.
Nakai: Not the worldview, but the explanation of each character is very careful. I myself agree very much, and when I listen to his analysis of other characters, I often make new discoveries and sigh "I see". Let's understand that we can actually record better.
Sakaguchi: How to bring the Leonardo in my heart closer to the requirements of the overseer, I did my best to achieve this goal, and I have already tried my best in the first episode. Originally, the amount of lines was already very large, and I thought that "the monologue part should feel like this", but the supervisor put forward higher requirements for the strength and weakness and the end of the sentence, etc., and I want to express it as much as possible...... All in all, episode 1 was a tough one.
Nakai: One of the things that the superintendent often says is, "I want to convey it in this way," and he often says, "Three times."
Xiaoshan: That's true.
Nakai: He also said to me, "With three times the speed just now," which startled me: "Huh? 3 times?!" (laughs)
Sakaguchi: The superintendent is a genius, or rather a very sensitive person, desperately trying to explain it to us in words. Because there is no sound supervisor for this work, the supervisor is also solely responsible for the recording. We need to express it on the basis of understanding him, which is very valuable and interesting.
Koyama: I'm very enthusiastic anyway. Nowadays, there are a lot of young people in the studio, and I'm usually the oldest, or the second, and the young people come to greet me, but when I record this work, I have to say to the others, "Long time no see, thank you for taking care of me." "So it's a very hard job site (laughs). While I am glad to be able to meet all the seniors, I feel nervous. But only the overseer is very young.
Sakaguchi: It's rare to have so many seniors participate in the recording of an anime now, and you can feel the good intentions of the staff in casting.
――Please tell us about your impressions of your role and what you paid attention to when performing.
Sakaguchi: Lebra is a group of people with superpowers, led by Klaus, and Leonardo is just a mortal among them. There are no special physical abilities, nor are they particularly intelligent, and they do not have any outstanding merits. He's set up as an intern journalist, not a superman like Clark Kent, and the reason for joining Lebra is purely accidental. The sonic monkey I'm holding now is the reason, and it's so cute (laughs). However, his unwavering belief is strong, and it can be said that he has strong mental ability.
During the recording, the supervisor will guide line by line, but Leonardo seems to be more reliable in the superintendent's mind than I thought. I originally thought he was a little looser in character, but then I realized that I had to show that he had his own ideas. So he can face adversity and fight for a voice even in Lebra.
Nakai: Zapp is strong, he's a genius. Although he is a very professional person, he does not feel it at all from the way he dresses and the tone of his voice. However, it can be seen that everyone trusts him. When he plays him, he speaks in a tone that is as rough as in the comics, and on the surface it looks a little frivolous, but these parts of the seriousness and determination of the work must be emphasized. The overseer said: "I hope that while feeling a little wandering and rough, I can show that he is straightforward and serious about his work." ”
Leonardo was a new junior, and he was so happy that he couldn't help but be nosy. He's no match for Klaus now, and he can't be (laughs). Even so, he continues to challenge himself, and that's his straightforwardness and strength. In the original work, he was very attentive to female relationships, and he didn't know what would happen in the anime. (laughs)
Koyama: Klaus is the leader of Lebra, a noble man, and I will try not to make him look too strong and too convincing when performing. He is usually very calm, with a rich expression, and definitely does not show off his strength, but once he enters the battle mode, he becomes extremely strong. He has a strong sense of purpose and can annihilate enemies in an instant. I'm working day and night to make him a strongman like never before.
Sakaguchi: Klaus is perfect. In terms of life, he has moral character, a smart mind, and high combat ability. The only one who can fight vampires is Klaus.
Koyama: But he also has psychological pains and weaknesses. The overseer will give very specific instructions such as "here is a little more nervous" and "here is to show anger". The instructions are very clear.
――In this work, the battle scenes should be one of the highlights. Is it hard to appear in battle scenes?
Koyama: Klaus usually sweeps thousands of troops with one move, but the most difficult part is to speak the lines, I have to think about how to make the audience more impressed, and the supervisor will also ask "here to be empty", "here to rise to this kind of course". But a lot of the time, it's up to me to decide, and I'll make sure to him after reading it, "It's okay."
Nakai: I don't fight much at this stage (laughs).
Hill: Zap is playing like he is playing most of the time.
Nakai: Speaking of which, I probably spent a lot of time complaining about other people. However, the plot of shooting when you should be in the battle is handsome and enjoyable. The battle that shouts the name of the move is a feeling.
Koyama: Although the way of fighting is blood, and the graphics are exciting, there is no sense of blood. I even think it's pretty handsome.
Sakaguchi: I also want to fight, and I want to have my own special moves. Although he joined Lebra, he was still a bystander. Even when it comes to solving problems, they make a difference, and they don't fully integrate into Lebra. The position is a little unstable dìng (laughs).
- What does Lebra think of the enemy in the fight, the Blood Dependents?
Sakaguchi: They're very strong. There are some episodes that I feel very nervous just by watching them, and I sweat in my palms. Sometimes I can't help but sigh with emotion: "It's so strong." ”
Nakai: What I remember the most is the scene between Leonardo and his sister. Only that part is fantastical. The relationship, bonds, and thoughts between the two are portrayed very deeply.
Koyama: What impressed me the most was the plot of Klaus's battle in the game. The kind of battle that drives the mind, the spirit, and the body is too shocking.
――Please tell us about the appeal and highlights of this work.
Koyama: To sum it up succinctly, it is "fighting to maintain the balance between the other world and the human world", but each character has a complete background setting, and it is a work with depth. Because of this, you can think deeply and change your perspective to make many unexpected discoveries. Some characters have fewer lines than the original, but every sentence has a connotation. Because of the connotation, there are so many senior voice actors involved, and I am very happy that I can join this crew. After watching the anime, you will definitely enjoy the story more when you watch the original work.
Nakai: Inevitably, some episodes will be deleted after the animation, but the anime has collected the original work without missing a drop, and the deleted parts will be hinted at elsewhere. The works that are actually impossible to compress in 30 minutes are deliberately compressed, so that the depth and connotation can be better expressed. Fans of the original work will genuinely feel "it's amazing", and viewers who have been exposed to this work since the anime will definitely enjoy reading the original work. When I watched the original work, I thought "every place is too strong", but now it has become an anime with an upgraded version of power, and the plot is light and funny, so it's easy to watch. Once you start reading, don't miss a single frame, a single plot.
Koyama: So after watching the broadcast version, you have to buy Blu-ray discs and DVDs!
Sakaguchi: You're so good at publicity! But don't just wait for Blu-ray discs and DVDs to come out, and focus on the picture every time it airs. I think it's a miracle that this work has a lot of great producers and voice actors, and I get a strong stimulus every time I record. The people who make zuò have the enthusiasm and obsession to make punches to the flesh, and I hope that more audiences can see it. After watching this interview, those who can't wait for the broadcast can read the original work carefully.
Koyama: We all firmly believe that this work will be a work that will make the blood of male audiences boil and it will be difficult to extricate themselves, and of course female audiences will also enjoy it! Although it is a full-fledged drama, the style is cool, and with the way the picture is expressed and the music is set off, it will definitely be a work that will be loved by both men and women, not only in Japan, but also all over the world! We look forward to receiving invitations to events around the world.
