Interview with the producer of "A Calm Tomorrow".
Launched in October 2013, TV's original new anime "From the Calm Tomorrow" has been attracting a lot of support from fans thanks to its strong lineup and heartwarming storytelling. Although its popularity cannot be compared with that of a popular work like "Attack on Titan", it is still undeniable that it has become one of the most watched works at present.
In December 2013, the first half of the work was aired. Starting this month, some of the issues that the audience is most concerned about will be revealed in the second half. The main visual image officially released at the end of December seems to be a big change in the second half of the stage compared to before. Such a change naturally affects everyone's heart. To this end, a Japanese media recently interviewed the two major producers of the work, Jun Umezawa and Mitsutoshi Ogura, trying to find the direction of the second half of "From a Calm Tomorrow" from their mouths. The content of the interview is hereby announced as follows:
First of all, it is an answer from the people of Jun Umezawa.
—Q: What is your reaction to the content of the first half of "From a Calm Tomorrow"? How do you feel about this?
— Umezawa Jun tsu zuò (hereinafter Umezawa):
We have received a lot of letters from viewers who say that they are very concerned about the follow-up of the story, and that "the mood of the audience will be shaken after watching this anime", and judging from these comments, it seems that our work has been well received.
- Q: In the second half, there will be characters who have grown up and characters who are the same age as the first half. So will their relationship change a lot?
—Umezawa:
Even those characters who are on the same timeline, as long as their common experience is slightly different, it will make people feel very different from each other.
In the second half, the relationship between the characters will change greatly compared to the first half, and I hope that the audience can continue to pay attention to the development of the plot.
—Q: In the first half, almost every episode has a climactic scene that makes you cry. So in the second half, we should also expect a more touching story, right?
—Umezawa:
Of course. It can even be said that the story of the second half is the plot that "From a Calm Tomorrow" really wants to express. Please look forward to it!
—Q: This work is not only a fantasy work, but it also contains elements of youth and literature. In this regard, if you have to define it, what kind of genre do you think "From a Calm Tomorrow" should belong to?
—Umezawa:
If you look at the plot in the first half, it should be regarded as a "youth story". However, if you want to combine the second half, I think the definition of "legendary story" is more accurate.
—Q: What's your favorite character? Please tell us why you like it.
—Umezawa:
I love Mimi. Personally, I can't find any shortcomings in this character, so I don't want her to continue to grow (laughs).
—Q: Everyone will be happy, right? (Please...... m--m)
— Umezawa
In terms of the "growth" that characters need, each character will have an ending that matches their character. Don't worry.
This is followed by an interview with Mitsutoshi Ogura.
—Q: What is your reaction to the content of the first half of "From a Calm Tomorrow"? How do you feel about this?
— Ogura Mitsutoshi tsuō (hereinafter Kokura):
As the number of episodes increases, I feel strongly that the charm of the characters is also sublimating. The fact that we were able to create a work with straightforward feelings is also something that is both fresh and grateful.
- Q: In the second half, there will be characters who have grown up and characters who are the same age as the first half. So will their relationship change a lot?
—Ogura:
In the work, there are characters who spend time that others don't know about, while others enjoy normal times with their partners. When these two different characters reunite, which side will have the feeling of "I have been left behind......
In this regard, please pay attention to the psychological change process of these characters.
—Q: In the first half, almost every episode has a climactic scene that makes you cry. So in the second half, we should also expect a more touching story, right?
—Ogura:
Please look forward to it. It's a work that shakes my heart, and I cried several times during the script creation stage.
—Q: This work is not only a fantasy work, but it also contains elements of youth and literature. In this regard, if you have to define it, what kind of genre do you think "From a Calm Tomorrow" should belong to?
—Ogura:
I think it's a legend. In the work, there is a comprehensive collision of accident and cruelty, as well as sincere feelings, but in the end, an almost miraculous ending will be achieved. Such a story unfolds without a doubt in line with the definition of a legendary story.
—Q: What's your favorite character? Please tell us why you like it.
—Ogura:
I like Chisaki. This girl looks honest, but her inner emotions are richer than anyone else's, and she is very sensitive. Her posture of restraining herself in order to take into account the feelings of others seems very brave on the one hand, and on the other hand, it also makes people feel a little unreliable, which can be said to be a very in-depth character. By the way, I liked this character even more as she grew up (laughs).
—Q: Everyone will be happy, right? (Please...... m--m)
—Ogura:
In order to make everyone happy, whether it is Hikari, Mikai or Chisaki, they will show us their troubles, rushes and efforts in the next plot. Please be sure to watch the last episode and pay attention to what kind of ending each character will have.
