Otaku Legion! Interview with the starring actor of the movie version of "Sea Moon Hime".

The otaku group has adopted "life without men" as their slogan, but their fate has changed with an encounter with a man in women's clothing. This is the manga work "Umizukihime" created by Akiko Higashimura. Recently, this work has also been adapted into a live-action movie, including Reina Noen, Masaki Sugata, Hiromi Hasegawa, Chizuru Ikewaku, Rina Ota, Sonoazusa Baba, Nana Katase, Nari Hiraizumi, Renya Nakamura, Kenta Uchino and other luxurious performance lineups also drew a successful end to the Japanese film industry in 2014. In order to cooperate with the release of the movie, the Japanese media recently conducted an exclusive interview with the leading actors of the work, Reina Noeni and Rina Ota.

For the fashionable vision, I think it can be reflected in Yuehai's heart to some extent

Q: The movie "Umizukihime" has caused a lot of talk because Kumiko Iijima is in charge of the costume design. After all, the clothes she designed for Kelly and Miao were once the focus of countless people's attention. Today I would like to ask Miss Noh Nian about the fashion side of the show. Miss Noh Nian basically wears an old-fashioned shirt and braids from beginning to end, and her appearance as an otaku girl with glasses is also eye-catching.

Noen: I feel very happy (laughs).

Q: This character is still a little far from your usual life, right?

Noenuen: I've always maintained a similar dress to Tsukimi at home. Of course, I can't just go outside like this...... Ah, anyway, this time it's just the moon sea, so it should be more or less accepted, right......?

Q: Is this possible (laughs). However, the work still realizes a big transformation from being an otaku to being gorgeous and fashionable. In the plot of the aquarium, you look really cute in a pink dress, which impresses the audience.

Nengnian: At that time, the moon sea was intertwined with excitement, and because I was fascinated by jellyfish, I forgot my dress. Although she is not good at dressing up, she should still have a longing for gorgeous things. At the beginning of the work, she secretly wore Kuranosuke's wig, so I often wondered, "Tsukikai must have some longing for fashion in his heart." But because I don't have self-confidence, I think it's a terrible thing to dress up. Therefore, after passing through Kuranosuke's hands, Tsukimi achieved a gorgeous transformation, and although he felt confused, his feelings were still very high.

If you can't decide to dress up stylishly, you don't want to go out

Q: Not only Tsukiha, but almost everyone in the otaku group is dressed the same from beginning to end. However, only Kuranosuke's clothes change every moment, which makes it look particularly luxurious. And Miss Nengnian, which kind of dress do you particularly like about her?

Noenian: My favorite thing is the one in the free market episode, who wears an orange dress.

Q: What do you really like?

Noenian: It's gorgeous, but it's also very rigorous. Although it is a colorful garment, it has a placket. Since Tsukimi always wears old-fashioned shirts, she thinks, "It's nice that she can wear so many kinds of clothes." ”

Q: What about Mr. Sugada's women's clothing?

Nengnian: That's amazing. In order to look like a woman, he also seems to have had a bone correction. And the skin becomes very smooth.

Q: I heard that he has lost more than 10 kg.

Noenian: This is an ascetic. By the time he was filming with me, he was already able to put on his skirt and heels very easily and walk very smoothly. Before entering the filming set, it seems that he had already practiced walking in high heels. I'm afraid of wearing high heels, so I think he's amazing.

Q: But today, Miss Noh came wearing high heels about 10cm high. That's a lot of money, isn't it?

Noen: I tried to dress up (laughs), too. I don't usually wear it like this at all.

Q: After reading the outfits that Miss Nengnian usually posts on her blog, I feel that your dress is still in sync with the fashion. So do you have any attachment to your own fashion problems?

Noenuen: Lately, I've been really fond of dressing up in a boyish style. This was also influenced by Yosuke Kurutsuka's movie "Ping Pong" (Abianji). I'm obsessed with shorts and miniskirts. And without authorization, this collocation is called "A Bian Feng".

Q: So what does fashion mean for Miss Nengnian?

Noenen: Just deciding what to wear tomorrow makes me happy. On the other hand, if I can't decide, then I don't want to go out. I think that's how powerful fashion is.

Think of it as a festival, so be sure to come to the movie theater after COS

Q: It seems that Miss Nengnian herself uses a sewing machine to make some handmade products. So what have you been doing lately?

Noenuen: I made a dress made of wool. And it is cut along its own body, without going through the specimen.

Q: It's the same as Moonsea?

Noenian: Hehehe, whatever. I roughly made sure that "it should be like this" and put it on the floor to tailor. However, I don't use scissors to process clothes that have already been made like Tsukimi. She feels very free, so I envy it when I perform.

Q: If you were a designer at "Jellyfish", what kind of clothes would you try to make?

Noh Nian: Not only skirts, but also boyish clothes. The other is the clothes that girls can wear. There is also a jellyfish-shaped shirt that looks like a jellyfish hanging from the shoulders and the tassels hang down like the tentacles of a jellyfish...... Seems interesting.

Q: It seems that in addition to the skirt, Miss Nengnian has a lot of creativity in the process. Finally, can you tell us about the highlights of this movie?

Noh Nian: This film can make the audience's mood feel comfortable, as if they are looking through a toy box from their childhood. And if everyone can dress up as a jellyfish, or COS as a favorite character to watch the movie, then it would be great. In this way, it is like "The Rocky Horror Show", which makes the audience feel as if they are participating in the work and celebrating the festival. Please come to the cinema!

It is precisely because the otaku group gathers all the people that such a group can be formed

Q: It seems that you are a fan of the original manga.

Ota: Yes. I'm not a fan of Ninja Girl? Kenichi レジェンド?" and learned the name of Akiko Higashimura. Of course, I also like "Haiyue Ji" very much, and I think that sooner or later this work will be made into a live-action version. But I didn't realize that I could participate in this work at all...... When I heard the news, I was shocked.

Q: And you play the role of Mayaya, a Three Kingdoms fanatic. Mr. Ota usually gives people a very modern feeling, such as Hiroko who starred in "γƒ›γƒƒγƒˆγƒγƒΌγƒ‰" gives people the impression of being slim and calm. So when we saw the cast list for the first time, many people shouted in surprise, "Maya is played by Rina Ota!?" ”

Ota: To be honest, I feel very uneasy myself. But it's rare to have such a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so you have to bite the bullet. After I entered the shooting set, I kept making mistakes.

Q: So what is your state of mind?

Ota: Maya's character isn't the type that can do things well, and because I've read the original work, I have a certain understanding of the character's image, and I feel that it wouldn't be possible to portray Maya very delicately. And I'm always thinking, "Let's end the shooting" (laughs).

Q: I feel like you're under extraordinary pressure.

Ota: I've always thought that I can't hold back the people around me. When I entered the set, I couldn't say anything like "I can't do it myself." But when I got into the stage of reading the script with everyone from the otaku group and Sugata-kun, I finally felt a little relieved. When everyone got together, I had the feeling of "becoming Mayaya" for the first time.

Q: Is this different from when you are alone at the show?

Ota: It's completely different. After all, the otaku group was also born because of everyone's savings.

Q: In other words, is it because everyone has come together that we have the group we are today?

Ota: Yes. No matter how much I try to establish a role in my mind, if no one can respond to it, then I can't talk about it. Even if it's a loud performance, I don't know how high the emotion should be, it all depends on the atmosphere and reaction of the people on the scene. Therefore, after everyone gathered together, I sighed for the first time, "Ah, that's fine." It's good to be able to perform Maya Asia-Pacific. ”

The person behind the scenes is Miss Bomba

Q: The dialogue between the otaku group is very rhythmic, and it feels as if the characters have popped out of the manga.

Ota: I'm glad to say that. My favorite part of the story is where I eat ramen with Miss Bangba. The feeling of homelessness between the two is vividly expressed, and it seems very humane. I think the person behind the otaku group is Miss Bangba. It's rustic, but it's still quite powerful to complain about (laughs).

Q: She always complains.

Ota: On the other hand, Maya is very eye-catching, but on the whole, what she says is not specific (laughs). The two are a good pair of spit partners. We were really happy at the show.

Q: It seems that you have also set up a handicraft department on site.

Ota: There were a lot of fabrics and needles that didn't need to be used on set, and I often had to wait on the sidelines during the shoot, so Ms. Shinohara started making handicrafts. Then Miss Noh Nian also participated. These two people are the main force of the handicraft department. And Sugata also made some works that can be called "masterpieces". I'm not very good at crafting, so I just go with the flow. But when I came back to my senses, I found that everyone was gathered together to do the same thing, just like in the play. It makes me happy.

Mayaya's movements are the result of my research

Q: I think Maya's hand movements and behaviors are very unique, so how did Ms. Ota master the acting skills?

Ota: First of all, I read the manga and recreate Mayaya's hand movements in the manga. Instead of seeing it, when you actually reproduce it, you will find that the action is completely different. I've put a lot of effort into researching this.

Q: What is research?

Ota: Anyway, I read every corner of the manga carefully. I also watched the anime. But the animation, some of the actions in it are not possible for a living person to complete...... (laughs)

Q: Hahaha (laughs).

Ota: It's so fast (laughs). I confirm my movements and make minor adjustments. And then there's the sound. My own voice didn't really match the character, so I read the lines by myself, recorded them, and decided which voice to use. It's a job I've rarely tried before.

Q: Compared to Ms. Ota's usual voice, Maya's voice is a bit deep.

Ota: I'm just going to have a very somber effect. Also, I was rehearsing with everyone in the otaku group and adjusting the balance. Some very subtle movements, coordination with everyone's previous are things that need to be paid attention to. Mayaya may look very striking on the surface, but this alone does not make Maya a person. I'm thinking about how to make it easier for the audience to think, "This is Mayaya."

Q: Did the director and staff ask for your performance?

Ota: I basically create my own characters, and then if there is a demand for people, then I can just follow the requirements. When I was reading the script, the producer said, "You can just keep it that way," so I was relieved. Maya's movements and way of speaking are obviously different from me, but I can understand her mood very clearly.

Q: In the play, Mayaya went to the roof, and one of her people said to herself, "What a hass, such slender eyes ......!" "The nickname is a killer", these made a deep impression on me. Her ambivalence is also clearly reflected in this plot.

Ota: When Maya expressed her feelings, Chieko said, "I'm 'Oyama Envy'." "I like this quote very much. I feel that this sentence contains the essence of the whole movie, and it is a kind of summary. It's not criticism or sympathy, it's "I understand you very well!" "I don't think there's anything more encouraging than those words. Although all of Higashimura's works have this style, isn't that very positive? Everyone has troubles, but they don't portray them in a negative tone, and they can be turned into laughs. I think this one is fantastic. It's not hard to change the tone of a work to be gloomy, but it's not easy to turn gloom into brightness.

The difficulty and mystery of starring in the live-action adaptation of the original manga

Q: In recent years, Ms. Ota has appeared in works such as "THENEX**ACTIVATION Mobile Police" and "γƒ›γƒƒγƒˆγƒγƒΌγƒ‰", and "Umizuki-hime", so I feel that you have appeared frequently in works based on the original manga and anime.

Ota: That's right.

Q: In manga and anime, characters are shown in the form of "screens". And if you want to play such a role well, what do you find difficult?

Ota: I don't think about it. The lines of "Haiyuehime" are faithful to the original, in short, as long as the image of Mayaya is clearly created. This is clear. However, the two-dimensional comics are absolutely different from the three-dimensional comics, and in the case of the live-action version, it can show depth, and what you see is the power of the actors. I think it's very difficult to create this kind of depth, and I've been troubled by it. Whether it's the manga version or the anime version, I like it very much, and I think there's something interesting about it. Although the characters may look a little different, the core part remains the same.

Q: Speaking of the original manga, depending on the reader's perspective, everyone's understanding of the work will be different. So the live-action version will be criticized anyway.

Ota: I don't think there's a perfect casting, and people feel like "this role can only be played by this actor." When Mr. Higashimura visited the site this time, he was very moved and said, "It's amazing!" And with the affirmation of the original author, I also fully gained self-confidence.

Q: And you also stood together at the stage thank-you party.

Ota: This is the first time I've stood with the author. And the original author can cheer for the movie together, which also makes people feel very confident.

Q: Finally, please tell us about the highlights of this movie.

Ota: Basically, if you go to the cinema with anticipation, that's enough. Miss Noh is very cute, and Mr. Sugada's women's clothes are also amazing.

Q: It's true that I don't feel like a man at all from the bones.

Ota: He's really a super beauty, and if he can be so beautiful in women's clothes, why are we women so embarrassed (laughs).
