Otaku who have been overly scandalized
-- The image of the homeless people sought by the major media no longer corresponds to reality
The term "otaku" has been around for about 30 years. What was originally a word used to disparage anime lovers is now widely used in everyday life. Otaku themselves have also embraced the word "zài" as if they were self-deprecating. Unfortunately, the perception of otaku in today's society is still 30 years ago. "Otaku = perverted, adults still love to watch anime, abnormal, old-fashioned, communication disorders, lolicon" and so on, images that do not match reality are still imposed on the majority of otaku. A major media once asked me to introduce some otaku for TV interviews. It's just that after the introduction, the media feedback said that this is not the person they are looking for. It seems that the image of the homeless people sought by the major media is indeed different from what I know.

The author himself is in the animation industry, and he is very familiar with the current situation in the homehousing industry. The above-mentioned "otaku image" (except in terms of interest) is basically "endangered" in today's society, or only appears on television.
In today's society, otaku basically live the same life as ordinary people. Quite a few people also have romantic partners. There are a lot of good-looking people, and their personalities are no different from ordinary people. The problem of living a difficult life varies from person to person, but it is no different from ordinary "poor".
But why do people still have a negative image of "otaku"? The reason is obvious, because when the major media reports, they are looking for the "homeless image" they are seeking, and they report on it in a partial way.
Otaku culture, as a popular culture in Japan, is widely spread around the world. In the face of such a positive trend, the image of homeowners reported by major media is so negative, and the author believes that this is not quite consistent with the facts.
Maybe no one will read the article about "otaku who are indistinguishable from ordinary people". Even so, it would not be appropriate to widely disseminate the negative image of otaku, at least in my opinion.
