Suzu Hirose talks about her voice actor experience

Recently, the theatrical version of director Mamoru Hosoda's new work "Monster Child" officially met with fans. Not only did this work invite many big bowl voice actors to join, but Suzu Hirose, who voiced the heroine Kaede, also attracted a lot of attention. Recently, the media interviewed her.

โ˜… I want to be more human

Q: Does Miss Hirose also like watching anime?

A: I'm a person who likes to watch variety shows, and I haven't watched much animation since I was a child. I don't know anything about dubbing work.

Q: How do you feel when you finish your voice work and hear the characters speak in your voice?

A: It's an incredible feeling that I've never felt before. I think the other voice actors really have voices that match the characters, but Kaede is actually my voice (laughs), which is weird.

Q: Miss Hirose's voice is also quite in line with Kaede's, but what impression did you think when you first saw the setting and script?

A: I think this is a very strong child. From the moment she appeared, she noticed the child who caused the commotion, and my words definitely couldn't do that, and her words were also mature and reliable. I think this is a character who can be big and independent.

Q: I also taught Mrs. Jiu how to study?

A: This is also one thing, and when she feels scared, she will also say, "Since Mrs. Jiu is fighting, then I will also be with him", I think this reflects Xiao Feng's personality. Although people will think of helping others, they should give everything to each other...... It's still rare.

Q: So have you considered what kind of tone you want to play Kaede?

A: I didn't think about it in particular. Rather, there are a lot of monsters in the work, and I play a human in it, so it's better to be ordinary. I was also a high school girl in Shibuya, so I wanted to be more humane, so I performed peacefully.

Q: After all, it's natural to be smart because you're a student at a school by design, but Ms. Hirose doesn't seem to care about that.

A: In the plot that explains her feelings, Dafang can show her cleverness and make people feel "this girl is very capable".

โ˜… Director Hosoda said to me, "Intoxicated"

Q: Indeed, although it is all for acting, there is still a difference between dubbing and film and television dramas, right?

A: In the case of film and television dramas, I think I will express myself according to the requirements of the script, but animation is already a picture, so I need to shape the world view. Xiao Feng said a lot of words in support of Mrs. Jiu, and I had to say these words in a very short time. And there are some things that I can't feel originally, and I will also cooperate with the picture to express xiร n, this is the first time I have experienced similar things, and I have suffered a lot. But it's fun.

Q: This kind of fun is different from film and television dramas, right?

A: The strength and weakness of the voice is more obvious than that of the real work. I think this experience can also be used in future film and television dramas. And I'm glad that I was able to be a voice actor in Director Hosoda's work. Although it doesn't seem to depict delicate feelings at times, occasionally a word or a character's expression can make people feel "that's what he thinks", and I think that's what director Hosoda is all about.

Q: Is there anything you're particularly excited about this time?

A: The plot of Xiaofeng slapping Jiutaiyi. It makes people feel that the two of them are important to each other, and the distance between the two has also been shortened, so I also dubbed it very carefully. Director Hosoda said to me, "I'm intoxicated by your voiceover," and I'm very happy about it.

Q: In this work, the relationship between Kutai and Master Kumatoru is depicted, and Kaede can be said to be Kuta's teacher in the world, so is there anyone who can be considered a teacher by Miss Hirose?

A: When I was talking to Haruka Ayase, Masami Nagasawa, and Lily French, who also starred in "Monster Kids," Lily said to me, "Suzu will definitely be like Haruka in the future." โ€

Q: But I don't always say that I want to be an actor like Haruka Ayase (laughs).

A: Lily explained very carefully: "Xiao Yao can naturally express the innocent feeling, which we are all very aware of. But I think Suzu will be like this too. And Miss Ayase also said, "She smells the same as me (laughs)," but she feels completely different at work than usual, and I respect her very much when it comes to acting, so I thought, "Let's use Miss Ayase as a teacher from today on." โ€

โ˜… The conversation was interesting...... I hope to appear in variety shows

Q: Does Miss Hirose feel that there is anything particularly innocent about her?

A: No, I can pat my chest and say...... Not really. It's just that someone told me that "as long as you're happy, it's easy to get emotional", which is very similar to Miss Ayase. So I guess it's "one type".

Q: At the beginning of the interview, I heard you say that you like variety shows very much?

A: I like it a lot. Recently, the number of opportunities to appear in variety shows has increased, and I thought, "I have to be funny" (laughs). But basically, I will give up at the beginning of the show, thinking "no play." Forget it. "It's fun to be a free talk show where you don't have a line in advance, but when I participated in "ใ—ใ‚ƒในใใ‚Š007" before, it was almost the first time I had encountered this kind of show, so I didn't know what to say, so I reflected on it a lot. It's a lot of fun, though. I don't know if I can go to such a show again~ (laughs)

Q: Speaking of which, Kaede has a bookmark of a book that he has read in the past that is regarded as a talisman. And in the work, she gave the bookmark to Mrs. Jiu. Did Miss Hirose have anything like that?

A: I cherish the letters that Director Hirokazu Kore-eda wrote to me with Ms. Nagasawa. It talks a lot about my future and what they're thinking about me. They said, "Whatever happens, they will support me", so every time I read the letter, it makes me feel motivated.

Q: It's your birthday in June, so Ms. Hirose has become "the busiest 17-year-old girl in Japan", so do you have a chance to breathe?

A: Let's meet up with friends. And to eat delicious things.

Q: You used to say that you like leeks?

A: It's a shame (laughs). Although I don't eat leeks lately, I still get pulled to various restaurants to eat.

Q: In that case, you're going to Shibuya as the stage for "Monster Kids", right?

A: I basically play in Shibuya. I would calmly walk on the zebra crossing in Shibuya, and I would choose Shibuya to watch a movie. It's also funny that the surreal things in "Monster Kids" actually happened on the streets that I was familiar with. In the future, when I wander around Shibuya, I wonder if I think, "Can I go to the monster world by passing through here?" (laughs)
