Interview with the main voice actor of "The Will of Silver".
The original animation "The Will of Silver" will officially meet the audience from July 3. The director of this work is Atsushi Otsuki, who has directed popular works such as "Tolove Darkness" and "Confused Restaurant", and the selection of the series is Ryuo Sato, who has worked on works such as "Mobile Battleship". It can be said that this summer's robot animation deserves the keen attention of anime fans.
This story follows the war between the United Kingdom of Arandas and the Unity of the Ingelmia States. The two countries are in a state of stalemate with the "Great Wall" in the center of the fortress as the divide! The Eighth Independent Force, which was stationed in the eastern hills of the United Kingdom of Arandas, was faced with the attack on the people at the beginning of the battle, and he resolutely went to support him in the face of the danger of enemy attacks and traps. On the way, he met Jimmy Hazefort, a technician, and the silver TrailKrieger "ARGEVOLLEN" she was transporting. With this small accident as the dividing line, the story has officially begun.
And in this work, the voices of Shin Toki Zong and Jimmy Hazeford are respectively Ryota Osaka and Saori Onishi. Recently, some Japanese media conducted an exclusive interview with the two of them, exploring the highlights of the work and the story of the dubbing from the mouths of the two.
■"I think Tokijong is in a period of rebellion"
Q:
Tell us about how you felt when you decided to voice these characters.
Ashaka:
I was confused to know what role I was going to play in "The Will of Silver", and I didn't expect that I would be dubbing Jin Shizong. And when I found out about it, I was like, "Hey......!?" The earth cried out. I was really surprised, although I should give my best no matter what role I played, but after all, this time I was dubbing the male lead, and I also felt the pressure to be different. I also bred up and focused my attention on the character.
Q:
And what about Miss Onishi?
Onishi:
When I heard the news, I was overwhelmed with emotion. I was on my way home when my agent called me and asked, "Miss Onishi, is it inconvenient now?" "I felt like I had messed up something, and my heart raced as I listened to the other person. It turned out that the agent told me, "You've been chosen to voice Jimmy." As a result, I started crying as I walked. This is also my first time as a female number one, so I hope to be able to work hard with 120% of my strength.
Q:
This work combines various elements such as robots, wars, and group dramas, so what do you think is the charm of the work?
Ashaka:
The protagonist of the so-called robot works always feels that most of them are just ordinary people who follow the plot and become a driver or soldier. However, Shizong was a soldier from the beginning. But he is still a rookie, so he also has all kinds of entanglements in his heart. And in such a state of mind, what kind of actions will Shi Zong take? I hope you must pay attention. Whether it's the independent 8th unit or Ingelmia as an enemy country, there are many charismatic characters appearing, which is also an interesting point to watch.
Onishi:
Mr. Osaka is always playing tricks on me, but now he answers questions in a serious way...... The sun came out in the west.
Ashaka:
I don't say anything like "I have a stomachache because of stress" (laughs). Miss Onishi should answer quickly!
Onishi:
Shi Zong was a soldier from the beginning, but Jimmy was originally a person who worked as a technician in the company, which is also known as an OL. Despite this, she operated with the Eighth Independent Force, which should be a civilian position in the army. And from my own standpoint, an ordinary person has to act with the army in the war and throw himself into the front line...... What an incredible thing it is. I think Jimmy will change a lot as well.
Q:
Since it's an original animation, it's impossible to know the next plot development even for the two of you.
Ashaka:
Even as an actor, I have to have the mentality of being one with the character. Even if I know the plot after that, I will forget everything and erase my memory when I perform. After all, if you know the plot, then although it is easy to grasp the direction of the story, there will be a feeling that you already know the outcome of the road when you perform, right? For example, if you know that a cowardly child will soon become stronger, you will think, "It's not bad to show a strong side here." But if you don't know the plot, then you can only move forward according to the development of the plot, and the original work can resonate with the characters more than the works that know the plot well. It's easy to perform.
Onishi:
Whether it is Shizong or Jimmy, they are both immature and unfinished products from the perspective of the characters themselves. I think it's because we don't know where the plot is going that we can move forward hand in hand with them. And as the plot unfolds, Jimmy and I will both grow up, so it's easy to get into the play. If you all feel the same way as me, that's great.
Q:
Judging from the main visual, this work feels like a very serious story. But what kind of work do you think this is?
Ashaka:
Of course, there is a serious side to this. However, there are also places that are not serious, and it can be said that there is a degree of relaxation, so that people will not get tired of watching it. I think this aspect also fully reflects the importance that director Atsushi Otsuki attaches to the role. I have the impression that this work is a work that reflects human nature and adds elements of robots.
Onishi:
Before starting the voice work for Episode 1, director Atsushi Otsuki spent a lot of time explaining these characters to us in detail. At that time, I had a very clear concept of the character in my mind. So I can't help but sigh: the director really attaches importance to the role.
Ashaka:
Even if it's a serious work, it doesn't look very gloomy. Probably both Shizong and Jimmy belong to the type that has been actively moving forward.
Onishi:
Indeed, even when Jimmy talks about his past and his entanglements. At first, I played in a somewhat gloomy tone, but was told to be "more peaceful". In other words, I hope that I can perform in the same tone as I normally speak.
Ashaka:
According to my opinion, Shi Zong is a person who is in a rebellious period. Because he is a soldier, he sometimes needs to work hard, but he is not the type who can frankly answer "yes, I will do it" in the face of orders. He has his own sense of justice and will reflect on the correctness of his actions, which is mixed with the psychology of resistance. Although it is set to be 20 years old, because it is a new soldier, it also has a childish side, which is not quite like a soldier.
Q:
According to Mr. Hirosaka's answer, it seems that Tokimune is a very complex character. Obedience to orders embodies the characteristics of a soldier, but because of his sense of justice, he will have a rebellious mentality.
Ashaka:
The other characters of Unit 8 all act as qualified soldiers, so they will care a lot about Shizong. Sometimes it's advice, sometimes it's orders. Although Zong had his own sense of justice at this time, he also suppressed this feeling in his heart and replied, "...... Understood". But in the course of action, he felt that "it was still wrong", and then ignored the order, or resisted. Of course, the task was accomplished. This shows the characteristics of the recruits.
Q:
Perhaps the "will" in the title of this work also appears for this reason. So, please tell us what you think of Jimmy.
Onishi:
In the beginning, Jimmy didn't show his true side at all, and I thought he was pretending to be capable (laughs). However, in the process of acting with Shizong, it has gradually changed. When you're in a bad mood, you'll vent to each other.,In short, it's a child who slowly approaches each other.。 And in the development of the plot, she also shows her real side. After the twist, I was told to play her like an ordinary 20-year-old woman. This may be a burden off my shoulders for me and Jimmy.
The original animation "The Will of Silver" finally met you this month. And on July 10, the second episode of this work will be broadcast. This animation was previously favored by everyone to make this summer more hot, and the hero and heroine in the story are naturally the focus of everyone's attention. Recently, some Japanese media interviewed the voice actor Ryota Osaka and Saori Onishi, the voice actors of the two protagonists. Tencent Animation has already introduced the content of the first half, so let's take a look at what they will say in the second half!
■Is the direct relationship between the voice actors as harmonious as the 8th unit!?
Q: Do you have any other favorite roles besides the two roles?
Aisaka: In "The Will of Silver", the girls are very cute, so there is no need to say much about this. And the figures of these characters are more plump than I thought. In the recent new animation,,There are a lot of characters in the setting that seem to be a little slim.,And all the female members in this work are quite plump.,That's great.。
Q: In this interview, I will make a good record of the phrase "Mr. Hirosaka, I like plump women".
Hirosaka: Just write as much as you like (laughs). Busty women are the best. I have a special affection for Sayaka Ohara's role as Latisu Saori, and the role of such a big sister is very good. Well, Jimmy's words are just an airfield.
Onishi: Actually, there is a lot of milk. It's just that you can't see it because it's covered by clothes! Mr. Hirosaka, please apologize to Jimmy Michiro (laughs)!
Q: Which character do you prefer?
Onishi: I like the voice of Mr. Daishi Tsuchida, the captain of the 8th Troop, Shamonki Ukyo. In the Eighth Unit, which was full of young people, he didn't talk much, and sometimes he liked to mumble a few words alone. But at the critical moment, the order will be given immediately, giving everyone a very reliable feeling. I appreciate the charm of this kind of adult.
Hirosaka: After all, isn't it because I like Latisu? Charm of adult.
Onishi: That's right. As a result, we all like older characters.
Q: This is the first time the two of you have appeared in a work together, right?
Hirosaka: I've met with Ms. Onishi a few times in my voice acting work on other works, but it was in this "Silver Will" that we worked together in a down-to-earth manner. Sayaka Ohara, a member of Latisu Saori, and Mr. Tsuchida, a member of Samonki Ukyo, often sit and talk with the two of us, and we also get together to chat in reality. As a result, Miss Onishi gradually felt as if she was going to beat me up at any moment......
Onishi: Why, I didn't want to beat you.
Hirosaka: I think Tokimune's inconsiderate personality is more similar to mine, and Miss Onishi and Jimmy are probably more energetic.
Q: How can I say it, you can be regarded as a combination of pretending to be stupid and complaining. Through the conversation just now, I felt that the harmonious atmosphere of the scene was fully conveyed to my heart (laughs).
Onishi: That's right, everyone had a very good atmosphere together, for example, Kaoru Shiono, Akane Sorano, and Rantis Hikaru from the 8th Unit Maintenance Squad were voiced by Miss Chinami Hashimoto, Miss Chixia Akasaki, and Miss Aimi respectively, and these three people also gave me a sense of inseparability. It's dazzling.
Amisaka: In this work, there are not only members of Unit 8, but also guest voice actors and people who voice enemy characters, so at the most, there should be about 28 people. After the recording ended, everyone who had nothing to do would go drinking until it was close to the time of the last train, and everyone had a good conversation...... This kind of thing is probably rare, right?
Onishi: Mr. Tsuchida was one of the organizers of the event, and it was he who first proposed, "Let's go to dinner together!" His enthusiasm is also a great guarantee for us to have a harmonious atmosphere. I was forced to pull it over, and everyone gathered together. I always say something immature at the dinner table, and Mr. Tsuchida gave me a lot of advice the other day. Seriously, I always feel like he's a father and very reliable.
Amisaka: I didn't even give you any advice! That's a very serious suggestion, huh?
Onishi: So that's true? Ah, thank you.
Hirosaka: Don't make it look like there's no such thing at all! (laughs)
Q: What advice did Mr. Osaka give to Ms. Onishi? Be sure to let us know.
Hirosaka: If you don't breathe well because you're nervous before you read your lines, then remember how you usually talk and don't be overly aware that you're performing. That's pretty much it. In normal times, we also have wheezing when we speak, so there is no need to use words to express the pauses in the lines, just deal with them normally.
Onishi: Because I have this problem, I don't know what the lines are talking about, so I panicked, and as a result, there are some situations that I shouldn't have.
Hirosaka: What was the biggest problem you faced so far?
Onishi: I don't think it's easy to deal with the problem of choking on speech during the performance. During the audition, because there were a lot of professional terms and the lines were long and difficult, I ended up having a headache, and I was also complained that "you have to perform with the momentum of biting your tongue and falling down". I think I'll choke if I roll my tongue and speak quickly, but in fact, only in this case can I pronounce all the lines well! I started thinking that this kind of voice acting effect was only needed during auditions, but it didn't turn out to be like that...... In the second episode, there were repeated mistakes, and some plots were repeated several times.
Q: What would you like to say to you?
Onishi: There are a lot of charismatic characters in this work, and the robots are very handsome. I think everyone will definitely like at least one character, and if you look at the work with a mindset that resonates with that character, then it will be more fun.
Amisaka: We don't know where the plot will go in the future, so I think it's a work full of realism for the audience. When we were performing, we were all thinking about what the character would think about in the plot, so in this sense, a fresh feeling was also expressed in our performance.
We don't know exactly how the video will be presented, but I think we'll definitely be in the same mood as everyone else when we watch the anime. Let's cheer for the characters!
Q: Thank you for your time today!
