Chapter 6: Reunion after a long absence

Hongming got off the plane, picked up the car, went to the hotel to settle down for a while, asked the address of the coffee house, and hurriedly drove over.

They made an appointment to meet at four o'clock.

Hongming chose a table by the window, asked for a cup of coffee, took a sip, looked at his watch, and there were still twenty minutes. For the first time in his life, he felt that twenty minutes was such a long time. He couldn't wait to see Xiao Min, looking forward to it, and nervous, what was the beautiful girl he had cherished in his heart for so many years?

Through the glass window, he looked at the people walking towards the door, none of them, none of them. A beautiful lady walked in, and he looked closely, wondering if it was her. The girl bought coffee and desserts, and sat not far from him, without any hope, then it should not be, besides, she looked too glamorous, crisp and neat, a little penetrating into the world, and didn't care about anything. The Xiao Min he remembered was not like this.

He took a sip of his coffee, then turned his head to look out the window, and waited quietly.

A young girl slowly walked across the road, I don't know why, his attention was firmly grasped in an instant, his eyes couldn't help but follow her, secretly cheering, what a beautiful girl! Although her figure is still pitiful, her long hair is black and plump, and her small face is as white and clear as a pear blossom. She wore a plain gray cardigan jacket with small lapels, a pair of half-worn black trousers, and a pair of casual lady's black leather shoes on her feet, and her whole person was as clean as if she had just been washed by clear spring water. He looked at her in surprise, and secretly thought, "It's rare to see such a girl now", this is exactly how he felt when he saw Xiao Min, he realized it, and suddenly felt a little ashamed in his heart.

There was something about the girl that struck him deeply, and she looked lonely and sad.

"What's wrong with you, poor girl?" He couldn't help but meditate.

The woman had already walked to the door of the coffee house. At this age, you can't drink coffee, right? Hiroaki thought curiously.

She pushed the door open and entered, looked around the room, and looked down at her watch.

The blood in Hongming's whole body suddenly surged up on the top of his head, and he didn't dare to blink at her.

She didn't notice him, but turned around and sat down next to a seat in the corner. The waiter walked up to her, must have asked her what she wanted. She said something, and the waiter walked away.

Hiroaki looked at her intently, and she finally noticed him.

Her face seemed to suddenly turn pale, and her gaze was firmly locked by Hongming's gaze.

Hongming's heart had never beaten so hard, "No, no, it can't be," but it was her eyes, and yes, his memory instantly became clear. He stood up almost unconsciously, walked over stiffly, and stretched out his hand, "Are you Xiaomin?" ”

The woman looked at him, hesitated, shook her head unnaturally, and whispered, "I'm not." Then she got up, looked no longer at him, and went to the door. He was stunned for a moment, and immediately followed.

She knew he was following her, and after walking for a while, she finally couldn't hold it anymore and turned around. He also stopped. They looked at each other for a moment, and they both knew who each other was.

Hongming asked again: "Are you Xiaomin?" ”

She met his gaze, smiled apologetically, and said, "I am." Are you that gentleman? ”

Hongming secretly wiped the cold sweat on his palms on his clothes, and smiled, "Are you sure that you are Jian Xiaomin, not Jian Xiaomin's daughter?" ”

It was her, yes, her smile was still so gentle and a little shy. "I wish I was a tree that could grow growth rings for you to identify," she said. ”

He shook his head, "You're smaller than I looked when I saw you nineteen years ago. ”

She looked at him. Is there anything more beautiful for a woman?

Apparently yes, because he went on to say, "I'm not flattering you, I'm just telling the truth." ”

With a little joy, she smiled and said, "You are really good at talking." ”

He instantly relaxed and questioned her like an old acquaintance: "Then why did you just say that you are not Jian Xiaomin?" ”

She looked ashamed, "I'm sorry, sir, I was suddenly nervous, and I don't think I really should have come to see you." ”

Hongming was surprised: "Why? ”

Xiao Min hesitated, "You are so good, I am so ordinary." ”

Hongming washed his ears, "What words! He then asked her, "Why are you so thin?" ”

She chuckled, "It's skinny, it's fashionable." ”

That's not fashionable skinny, that's heartbroken skinny. Hongming looked at her, never able to take his eyes off, "Xiaomin, I'll invite you to dinner, okay?" ”

When the two of them sat down in the hotel's restaurant, Xiao Min looked at the menu in front of him with a little uneasiness, looked up and said to Hongming, "That sir,"

"Hongming," Hongming corrected her. "We grew up in a place, and it would be insincere to be too polite."

Xiao Min smiled, "Okay, Hongming, I know you are rich, but I want to pay the bills myself, otherwise I will be very upset." It's so expensive, I can only order the cheapest, please don't laugh at me. ”

Hongming looked into her eyes, "Xiaomin, you know that I was just a wild child in the past, even if I ate a bowl of noodles in a small restaurant, I would be satisfied." I'm not asking you to show off your wealth, I just want to find a clean and quiet place to talk to you, I think this place is barely worthy of you. I've been wanting to invite you for so many years, and I've finally found you, please fulfill me. He added: "It is a great virtue to be willing to help others fulfill their desires." ”

Xiao Min was slightly uneasy by what he said, "Hongming, you are too polite," and then smiled and nodded: "Thank you so much." ”

Waiting for the food to be served, Hongming asked, "Your father died?" He didn't want to avoid the topic, he wanted to share her pain.

Xiao Min nodded slightly, "It's been almost ten years." ”

Hongming asked, "Is it sick?" ”

Xiao Min was a little reluctant, but Hongming waited patiently for her to say. Eventually, she said, "When I was in college, there was no one at home to take care of him anymore, and the doctor told him to go to the hospital," she said, "yes, it's an insane asylum." ”

Hongming looked at her quietly, "What about later?" ”

"I go home every year on vacation to see him," she said. She smiled wryly, "So, everybody goes home on vacation to play, but I'm going to the madhouse." Later," she said, "after I graduated, I took him back and wanted to take good care of him, but not long after I came back, he fell down the stairs in the corridor and broke his leg, and he couldn't get out of bed for a long time." I asked him how he fell, and he said he heard someone downstairs calling him. It should have been a wake-up call," she said, looking down and continuing, "but I didn't realize it. Later, one night, while I was asleep, I suddenly heard him talking loudly in the room, and I felt that something was wrong, so I hurriedly got up and knocked on his door, but it was too late, and I heard a loud noise," she bowed her head deeply, and tears welled up.

Hiroaki held her hand tightly.

She whimpered for a long time and said, "He jumped off the balcony." ”
