Every year, a large number of newcomers emerge in the Japanese voice actor industry, and for this reason, the Japanese media specially produced a program called "New Voice Actor Illustrated Guide". The show interviews and reports on some of the most promising rookie voice actors, to understand the behind-the-scenes stories of their entry into the industry, and their prospects for the future. In the latest issue of the "Rookie Voice Actor Guide", we will introduce Atsumi Tanesaki, who has performed well in works such as "The Strange Classmate Next Door" (Natsume Asahi and "Looking for the Lost Future" (Higashi Yae Yae).

Q: You worked the shooting! Do you feel nervous?

Tanesaki: Do you feel it...... It's a little different from nervousness, but I don't really understand what kind of POSE should I be. "(laughs) The models who can pose are really amazing. I think they're dancing mystically......

Q: Mysterious dance! (laughs)

Tanesaki: The photographer gave me a variety of POSE, and I couldn't help but think, "This is what a profession is!" Even though the photographer said to me, "This is the best photo I've ever taken!" But I wasn't prepared until I saw the dailies, and I thought, "I've never been photographed so well!" ”

Q: So do you have any favorite POSE?

Tanesaki: I don't know what kind of POSE is better, but I was thinking "what should I do?" a second before shooting. As a result, that moment was captured and became a miraculous photo (laughs). I don't know if the photo will be used, but in a good sense, I'm surprised to think, "Why was it captured so beautifully?" "It's very interesting to look at the photos.

Q: So let me ask you about your job? Miss Tanesaki once played a role in "Tokyo Aftermath", but now that the work is over, how do you feel?

Tanesaki: The recording ended around September, but when I watched the live anime, I was able to feel the feeling of the end of the work again. Although the ending of the work is not that kind of HAPPYEND, you can still see "hope" in various places. Risa Mishima, who I played, was initially a kid who didn't know anything, but in the end she was able to become TWELVE's hope. And through guò this matter, she herself gained hope. That's what I see in the ending.

Q: The plot of "Tokyo Aftermath" is very unexpected, and it has also caused a lot of conversation.

Tanesaki: There are a lot of descriptions in Tokyo that you can't understand if you don't look closely. Because if you look at it from the audience's point of view, in the face of some plots, you may think "why is this...... Ah, that's it! "But one of our actors feels the same way. I don't know how the plot unfolds in each episode, and the story always moves in a direction that I didn't expect. However, as the plot deepens, some of the things that can't be understood in the first episode have become clear.

Q: So when the plot is going to **, how is Miss Tanesaki's mood?

Tanesaki: It's a little painful, a little sad, it's hard to put into words. Since I started recording, I've been thinking about Tokyo Echo every day in my life. NO MATTER WHAT I DO, I THINK, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH These two people don't know how to live happily, do they? I think about this every day...... (Eyes moistened)

Q: Ms. Tanesaki didn't know about the plot from the beginning.

Tanesaki: I've heard about how NINE and TRECEIVE end, but each episode is still unexpected. Like all the viewers, I only learned about the plot for the first time after reading the script.

Q: When you got the script for the last episode, what did Tanesaki-sama think?

Tanesaki: I was thinking, "That's how it turned out...... I understood somewhere in my heart, but when I found out that the plot was really like this...... Woo (Tanesaki's voice trembled).

Q: Do you feel the change in Risa's character from your work?

Tanesaki: She started to change when she was riding a motorcycle with TRECEIVE in episode 4. In addition, around the time of the fifth episode, she had the idea of "wanting to be their partner" and "wanting to do something for others", and then started to act. But what NINE and TRECEIVE wanted to do was so big that they couldn't do anything about it. And at the end, she also realized her sense of powerlessness. BUT IN THE FINAL EPISODE, TWELVE SAID, "IT'S GREAT TO MEET YOU. "So although she didn't do anything, she still gave her strength to TWELVE. So that's all it takes.

Q: So what will be Risa's fate after the ending?

Tanesaki: Because of TWELVE's words, even if she returns to her ordinary life, she will never have the state of mind before the two of them met. Although she was a childless before they met, she also changed with the encounter.

Q: Did Ms. Tanesaki get any instructions at the work site during the performance?

Tanesaki: I didn't get any special instructions about Risa's performance. However, after the recording ended, the director once said to me: "The role of Risa **, you have been playing her perfectly since the audition." There was no one else to choose. "When I heard that, I was so happy that I fainted!

Q: So, were there any interesting things that happened during the recording?

Tanesaki: It's probably not just Risa's character**, but everyone seems to reflect their own personality and habits in their works. In the seventh episode, Risa has a stomachache while saying "Hmm~I'm so nervous~". But that's what happens to me a lot (laughs).

Q: Is this also what happens to Ms. Tanesaki at the dubbing scene?

Tanesaki: Probably. I can't calm down, and I always love to bark (laughs). But once the recording is over, then the stomach will not growl. So I think it's probably because of the nervousness that led to the situation.

Q: I was really nervous (laughs). So what other problems did you realize in your voice acting work?

Tanezaki: Until the last episode, Risa was still a child who didn't understand anything and was involved in the incident. Therefore, when I perform, I express Xiàn with a candid attitude of not wanting too much.

Q: What kind of changes did Ms. Tanesaki herself make in the animation of the first quarter of Tongguò?

Tanesaki: The voice actors I performed with had a deep understanding of the work and the characters. This in-depth attitude is awe-inspiring. Being able to perform with such great people made me feel like I could learn how to look at the work and the characters. In addition, some of the people who are usually in charge of the job were also present, so I was able to see a lot of things that were different from anime performances. Even a breath and an improvisation, I feel that I have benefited a lot.

Q: In the dubbing scene, did any voice actor impress you?

Tanesaki: Mr. Shunsuke Sakino! When we can't perform well, Sakino cares a lot about the atmosphere of the scene and pays attention to our feelings. He eased the tension of the work and allowed us to perform calmly. That's been a huge help. In addition, the director has created a great working environment for us.

Q: The plot of this work is full of tension, but it seems that the atmosphere of the dubbing scene is quite good.

Tanesaki: Yes, it's very harmonious! We're always talking about food (laughs). In the work, Rokasa is a mascot-like character of the Metropolitan Police Department, and his voice actor · Mr. Kanuka Mitsuki himself is almost a live-action version of Rokukasa. He kept talking to us about food, and we couldn't stop laughing. The scene was really good, so when the work ended, I felt very melancholy and lonely.

Q: So, let's ask about the new October issue! You played the role of Nagi Kotai in "The Shepherd of the Great Library".

Tanesaki: Nagi Kota is a member of the library committee, and she always looks at the "book department" of the protagonist Keitaro-kun with a calm and observant eye. The character is relatively straightforward, and it can be interpreted very naturally. But that's not all~ She also has a deep connection with the "Shepherd" part of "The Shepherd of the Great Library".

Q: Actually, is it just a very complex role?

Tanesaki: Except for Nagi, everyone has their own ideas. But basically, everyone is enjoying campus life in the name of the "Happy Project". But Nagi is different from all of them, she's a character who involves the people around her for her own purposes. …… However, the plot has not yet reached that stage, so there are a lot of contents that cannot be spoiled (laughs).

Q: As the plot deepens, we will learn more about Nagi?

Tanesaki: That's right. The plot starts with a lively and very harmonious style, but as Nagi participates in the plot, the story slowly becomes heavy. This aspect is also a major attraction of the work!

Q: This character is different from Risa's.

Tanesaki: From a performance point of view, this is the opposite of Risa-chan's. Risa often sighs, and she doesn't have a lot of lines, and she always expresses her thoughts in a form other than words. As for Nagi, she is a very striking character, and she needs to speak constantly, especially with some very important content. So it's a completely different role. But like Risa, I still had a lot of fun voicing Nagi.

Q: And what was it like to be on the dubbing scene of "Shepherd of the Great Library"?

Tanesaki: Well, it's like school (laughs). Not only the voice staff, but also the staff have a very good relationship with us, and we always go to dinner together after work. And through the guò dinner, everyone's relationship is even more intimate!

Q: In the anime "Shepherd of the Great Library", Ms. Tanesaki was also given the opportunity to be the host of the radio "The Shepherd of the Great Library".

Tanesaki: I was thinking about how to convey ideas to people and how to make the audience feel happy. I'm not very good at talking, so sometimes I compare radio waves, and occasionally I have something unexpected...... It's a very difficult job, but it's a lot of fun. I'm always working on it with excitement, so if you don't mind, I hope you can listen to it too.

Q: Ms. Tanesaki often voices student characters, so what kind of girl were you when you were a student?

Tanesaki: I'm very cheerful when I work part-time every day. I've experienced countless part-time jobs.

Q: What kind of part-time job is it?

Tanesaki: Convenience store, supermarket, ramen shop, yakiniku restaurant...... Maybe because I'm from Oita Prefecture, I also do some farm work like burdock shearing!

Q: Cut burdock!

Tanesaki: Anyway, I came to Tokyo from Oita and thought I was going to study at a voice actor training center. For this reason, you need to save money well, so choose a high school where you can get a job. The distance from my home to school is almost 14 kilometers round trip...... Isn't that far?

Q: It's far away! So how did you go back and forth in this?

Tanesaki: I ride a bicycle. In addition to my part-time job, I also joined the art department by participating in club activities. Then school life repeats the cycle of part-time jobs, cycling, and club activities (laughs). Although I'm a member of the art department.,But the rhythm of life is like a member of the sports type......

Q: So let's ask us a little more about Tanesaki's personal life. What do you like?

Tanesaki: I'm a girl who loves watching TV to death! I like to watch TV series and movies.

Q: What have you been watching lately?

Tanesaki: The TV series that I watched in full include "Blue Flame" and "Young People". Although I also want to watch "Daylight", I missed an episode in it...... In this autumn's TV series, I am very much looking forward to Mr. Kankuro Miyato's "Sorry Youth". And Hikaru Mitsushima, which I like so much, also starred in it!

Q: In terms of movies, what kind of works do you like?

Tanesaki: The last work I watched was "TOKYOTRIBE". I like the work of director Yuan Ziwen very much. And my favorite work is "Why Hell Is Bad". By the way, "Love Exposed" is also good.

Q: So on a good day, do you digest the videos that you didn't have time to watch?

Tanesaki: Yes, yes! Anyway, it's nothing more than watching TV, watching movies, watching comics, and the like.

Q: Do you like to read comics too?

Tanesaki: That's right. In this world, my favorite manga is "The Incredible Boy" created by Kazumi Yamashita. At present, the work has been released in 8 volumes. Because it's very interesting, I hope to see the follow-up soon~

Q: Finally, please tell us what you want to do in the future!

Tanesaki: I put my life into the characters and touch them with my blood and body temperature. That's what I'm trying to do. To do this, I need to accumulate more experience and master more skills, so that I can fully express what I want to express. We will work tirelessly to this end. Looking back, I have come across many works at the points of divergence in my life, where I am today, and who are "supported by this work".
