In order to celebrate the release of the movie, I interviewed Takumi Fujiwara's voice actor Mamoru Miyano and asked him to talk about the charm of the work.

● In "Legend 2 - Fight Walk-", Takumi's thoughts on cars and driving have changed?!

Miyano: Since it's the second chapter of the theatrical version, I guess it's the second time I've recorded it. It's been a full year since the last recording, but it's no stranger to everyone. The atmosphere was the same as before, and with new friends joining in, the team felt very comfortable (laughs). This time, Shingo who competed with Takumi was played by Mr. Shuhei Sakaguchi. Thankfully, Mr. Shuhei Sakaguchi is one of us who is most familiar with cars (laughs). It's the first time he's been involved in this work, but when it comes to car modification and other expertise, he's the one who explains it to us (laughs). In such a harmonious working atmosphere, it is a very good recording experience to bring out the tension when accompanied by scenes of intense battles.

――What was the reaction to the release of the previous "Legend 1 -Awakening-" movie?

Miyano: After the screening, I received a lot of opinions and feedback from my friends. Some of them, who were introduced to "Initial D" for the first time, told me, "I don't know much about cars, but the story is very interesting," and some people said, "The movie is over in the blink of an eye." The film is made using the latest imaging technology, and it is a full of entertainment, and I am very confident that the film will touch the hearts of the audience.

――What do you think is the difference between Takumi and the previous game, or what are the areas where you have grown?

Miyano: I think that Takumi's perception of racing gradually developed after the race against Keisuke in Legend 1 -Awakening-. Variation. For example, when you learn that your game is watched, you feel happy from the bottom of your heart. He began to realize that his driving was special. Previously, Takumi had always regarded driving as a part of his daily life, thinking that it was ordinary and taken for granted, but once he had this awareness, he began to develop an interest and curiosity in racing, which was also the opportunity for him to awaken. In this game, he gets to experience different types of races. When faced with unexpected events, his mood changes and the corresponding attitudes and methods he adopts can reflect Takumi's growth. Miyano: That's right. Because Nakazato Takeshi kept pestering him, saying that he wanted to compete with powerful people, and blindly unilaterally and actively issued challenges, Takumi felt impatient...... Ah, it's going to be a spoiler if I say it again, so let's stop it (laughs). On the other hand, Takumi will be in a disadvantageous situation during the first battle against Shingo, and being able to see different types of matches at the same time is also one of the highlights.

- Takumi is calm and strong in the game, but the interaction with his friend Ah Shu at school and the scene of working at the gas station can show his daily side, and he is like two people during the game.

Miyano: Anyone who has watched Takumi's tournament will see him as a mysterious master, but he's just an ordinary high school student. If you do something stupid or say something stupid in normal times, of course, you will also have the troubles of youth. The interaction with the tree is very interesting and is an interlude that brings laughter. It plays an important role in easing the tension of the game plot, making the plot appear tense and relaxed.

――You've appeared in the theatrical version twice, what do you think is Takumi's appeal?

Miyano: At first glance, it's cold. In the words of Ah Shu, he is often in a daze. It's really unknown what he's passionate about, and he's an unpredictable person. However, when it was time to actually enter the role dubbing, I realized that Takumi's feelings were actually quite rich. Because he is still a high school student, there are still immature places, but this is where his charm lies. I also had a high school year (laughs), so there are a lot of things that resonate with me. Tuohai's future growth is really exciting. I'm confident in my driving skills, and it's really worth exploring whether I'm fit to race~

――Do you have any other favorite characters besides Takumi?

Miyano: First of all, I'll be against Takeshi Nakazato. The last part just showed a face.,This time it's finally a solid game.,I'm very happy to have a fight.。 Nakazato has a high self-esteem, and has high confidence in his own cars and technology; The race was very burning; And Shingo is not small, he is very obsessed with winning and losing, and it is really a pleasure to compete with these two people. ――In order to be realistic, the sounds of the collision between the tires and the body of the car during the race scene were recorded directly from the track, right? Is that the same way this time?

Miyano: The movements and sounds of the car are all from real filming. Such a good game, of course, can't be expressed with a picture without a sense of reality. The effects in the play are all made by asking professional drivers to drive. The sound of unintentionally slamming on the brakes and steering is carefully reproduced. I believe that the audience will listen to the immersive feeling of watching the race in the mountains or driving the car yourself.
