The Ritchie family began to consider dismantling the Lee Stage to bring greater economic benefits.

In March 1991, Hysan Development, a subsidiary of the Ritchie family, purchased the Lee Stage land from the Ritchie family for HK$450 million. When Lee Theatre ceased to open in July 1991, Lo Man held a farewell concert before Lee Theatre was demolished, and RTHK Television produced a special programme to commemorate the building.

The Ritchie family used the land on the Lee Stage to build the Lee Stage Plaza in 1995.
