CHAPTER XLVII

The day of the graduation ceremony was a cool, cloudy day.

Yukiko Matsuda and Shotaro Ichijo also attended the graduation ceremony as third-year students.

When I went on stage to receive my diploma, Ichijo Shotaro unexpectedly ran up to the stage and presented me with a large bouquet of flowers, and because I was so ashamed that I hurriedly hugged the bouquet to cover my face and fled from the stage.

Yukiko Matsuda arrived late, and when I ran to my seat, I saw her smiling and trembling, and she was holding her phone to record me and Shotaro Ichijo.

"Are you two doing cat and mouse?"

I sat down, not noticing, that Ijojo was giving Taro a bouquet of sunflowers, dotted with pink daisies and a few bear dolls.

Yukiko Matsuda reached into the bouquet, folded two daisies, and clamped an object to my chest, and when she let go of her hand, I realized that it was a dragonfly brooch.

She winked at me: "Happy graduation!" ”

I stroked the dragonfly brooch and thanked it.

Ichijo Tetaro leaned over: "When I graduate next year, you two will give me flowers!" ”

Yukiko Matsuda and I both gave him a health ball.

When singing the farewell song, Ichijo Shotaro was so sad that he cried, and when he went to the toilet to vent his emotions, Yukiko Matsuda hurriedly pulled me away. The campus was empty at this time, and she finished complaining about a shotaro, and pushed down mine with her elbow, raising her eyebrows:

"Tsk, where did the male peacock come from?"

I saw it too.

It was Shan Muxi, who had not seen him for many years, he was wearing a swaggering Fan Zhesi red T-shirt, and the color itself was already extremely bright and was suppressed by him a few degrees of brightness, he just stood there, waving lazily at me, his whole body exuding a bewitching and charming atmosphere.

"It's someone I know." I say.

Yukiko Matsuda was stunned, but didn't ask, and said goodbye to me and left.

I walked slowly to Shan Muxi.

"The brooch is beautiful." His eyes narrowed slightly, and while complimenting, he glanced at me, "Grown taller?" ”

"Is there something wrong?" I asked.

He hooked his lips: "Have time to walk around the city with me?" ”

I glanced at the time on my phone and nodded, "Let's go." ”

He's driving a black Lincoln today.

"Drive a friend's car." He glanced at me and walked ahead of me, "Do you know how to drive?" If you can't drive, you can get in the passenger seat."

This was not an inquiry, he opened the passenger door as he spoke. I got in the car, and he closed the door and went around to the driver's seat to get in.

"Is it time for Heian Jingu to open at this time?"

"Hmm."

"Okay." He started the car, and then clicked on the screen with his free hand, "Open the navigation." ”

On the way to the Heian Shrine, I didn't have much communication with Shan Muxi. He doesn't like to talk when he is driving, and occasionally says a sentence or two in a tone of voice, and I respond perfunctorily for a few rounds, and he doesn't say much.

This is not the peak tourist season, and there are many pedestrians passing by Heian Jingu, and there seems to be a competition for the musical Wu across the street from the shrine, and a large group of junior high school students in student uniforms gather at the entrance.

After getting off the bus, Shan Muxi and I walked straight along Jingu Road, and from time to time we met several goddesses, all dressed in light white clothes and scarlet hakama, and their long hair was tied with a thin red belt.

We passed through the large torii gate inlaid with sixteen chrysanthemums and stopped in front of the Ontenmon Gate. According to the rules for visiting the shrine, you must clean your hands before entering the shrine, and there is a pond outside the shrine.

"Ladies first." Shan Muxi said.

I cleaned my hands and waited for him. His delicate profile was detached from its usual languidness, but unexpectedly reverent and quiet.

"Let's go." Even the tone is much calmer.

Heian Jingu Shrine is a Tang style building that is common in Kyoto, with red pillars and blue tiles, bright colors, but it has a magnificent atmosphere that is different from other shrines.

I thought that Shan Muxi was going to pay homage and pray for blessings, so I went directly to the main hall. After walking a few steps, I felt that there was no one behind me, and when I turned around, I saw that he did not follow, but stood not far away, saw me turn around, and waved the two tickets in his hand at me: "Go to the Divine Garden." ”

He turned around and walked in the direction of the shrine, and I said a word in my heart, and I didn't say a word to follow him.

The shrine garden behind the shrine is a pond spring garden. The courtyard is expansive, and the architectural styles of several eras are separated by a square pond as a line, and the scenery of the four seasons is set against the backdrop, which is exquisite and elegant.

In September, the irises of Nishijinen should be in full bloom. Last year, around this time, Yuichi Fujisawa and I visited, just in time for the flowering of the irises. I thought about it while following Shan Muxi. He walked slowly, seemingly carelessly, but did not stop, obviously with a purpose.

Shan Muxi's destination was Taiping Pavilion, which was a bridge hall across the Qifeng Pond in the East Shrine.

Passing through the bridge corridor, he stopped at the pavilion in the center of the bridge hall. Facing Qi Fengchi, he propped his hands on the vermilion handrails of the bridge corridor, and he looked away for a long time.

"The last time I was here, it was cherry blossom season." After a while, he said, "The opposite side is full of weeping willow cherry blossoms." ”

I stood aside: "I didn't expect that you would come to a place like Jingu even if you didn't go to the shrine." ”

"I'm here because ......," he tapped on the armrest, a lazy smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, "The beauty has an appointment." He squinted slightly, as if he remembered something, and his smile deepened, dyed with a little tenderness.

I think I know who he is talking about.

I was silent: "She...... Are you okay? ”

"Don't worry," he said, turning around, "she's going to have a long life." He smiled vaguely at me, "You should worry more about yourself." ”

I frowned, and began to regret that I had come with him today.

"Stop pretending." I said coldly, "I know what you're trying to do." I paused, "Why don't you explain your intentions directly?" ”

"Alas. After knowing each other for so many years, why don't you believe that I care about you from the bottom of my heart? He sighed, "Susu, you're so boring." ”

The person in front of me, I share the same secret with him. It was this secret that brought me to Kyoto two years ago.

I said, "If you don't show up, I'm now called Surantin, not Susu." ”

"If it weren't for me," Shan Muxi touched his chin, "what are your chances of meeting him?" ”

I looked up and glared at his eyes, which looked like they weren't smiling.

"I have nothing to say to you." I turned and left.

What am I wasting my time doing here? Does it make sense?

"Susu." His voice was like a vine, "You are tempted by him." ”

I stopped.

The winding path by the pool is a couple of newlyweds passing by after the ceremony, the bride and groom are dressed in traditional costumes, and when they cross the small arched bridge, the groom walks in front of him, turns back and stretches out his hand to the bride, and the bride puts his hand in the groom's hand, and the happy smile spreads over their young faces.

I took a deep breath and allowed myself to speak in a calm tone:

"Please tell her and reassure her that she will get what she wants."
