Chapter 16: The Undead
"Have you finally come to terms with the facts?" Val said to Rajer, "and realize that your friend is dead, and that he is no more than an enemy before you." â
"I've long recognized this fact. Rajel sighed softly, "But I may be old and confused, I have always thought that I could turn you back, knowing that it is impossible, but I still chose to do that." â
"You are indeed old, Rajer. Val looked at the wrinkles on Rajer's face and said, "You're a lot older than you were ten years ago, and I can feel it very clearly." â
"Ten years ago?" Rajer said with a wry smile, "a lot did happen ten years ago, and it was a terrible year, I guess I'm right." â
"It's bad. "Now Val and Rajel don't feel like enemies at all, but like friends who reminisce about the past. "There are many things that I can't forget, and they have always been deeply imprinted in my heart. â
"That's true. "Like the Andean cruise ship, it's a part of a memory you'll never forget, right?"
"You know it all. "Then you should understand what I've been through, and can you understand my pain?"
"I'm not a client, so I'm not in a position to say I can understand your pain. But I still have to say, don't live in the past, Vaal!"
"And can I get back all that I've lost?" shouted Val, "if you want me to stop, give them back to me, or it's all just nonsense to me!"
"I can't do it. Rajer looked at Val, whose expression was distorted by sadness and anger, and said, "But if they're still alive, do you think they'd want you to be what you are?"
"But they're dead!" Rajer said with a wave of his arm, "You're right, I'm just a ghost chasing the past, but that's my own will, all I have to do is eradicate all the people who stand in my way now!"
"Even then, Jenny and LÊa won't be able to come back!"
"Don't mention their names in front of me!" Val let out a roar of rage, his right hand quickly shaping a crystal sword, and the blade struck directly at Rajer.
Rajel dodged Val's attack on one side, and he looked at Val with a very angry expression, and he couldn't help but feel endless emotion in his heart.
I can feel your pain, but I'm still going to stop you, old friend, and that's what I have to do now!
"Hahaha!" Val laughed out loud instead of showing a look of remorse after the blow missed. "Everything in the past is like it happened yesterday, and I can even recall the scene vividly!"
"And then you're going to let yourself dive in the memories of the past?" said Rajer, looking at his former friends in front of him, "Wake up, they can't come back, you've been forcing yourself to be the undead of the past!"
"No, you're wrong, Rajer. Val's eyes turned cold, "It's possible, and I've found a way to do it, and that's what I'm after!"
"What are you talking about?" Rajer couldn't believe what his ears were hearing, "to bring the dead back to life? how could such an outrageous thing exist? Are you already mad?"
"Don't look at the world with common sense, Rajer!" said Val with open arms, "You won't believe it even if I tell you, but I'll tell you it's real!"
"Is that what you're aiming for?" Rajer had fully understood what Vaal was after, "so do you believe in Hell?
"Who told you that I said I joined hell. Val laughed, "Hell is nothing in our eyes, what I am attached to is a more powerful being, an existence capable of completely destroying this old world!"
"Do you want to destroy the world that exists?" Rajer was completely shocked by what Val had said, even he had never heard of something capable of destroying this world, but Val could never be a lie like that.
"In other words, you didn't take refuge in hell, no wonder those parasites didn't feel the power of hell in their bodies before, and the forces behind you weren't hell from the beginning. â
"That's right, Rajer. Val said, "Hell is only for destruction, and we are for creation." Hell will slaughter all human beings, and we will let human beings live, which is why we are fundamentally different from them. â
"But you said that you want to destroy the existing world, then it will inevitably cause misery!"
"Sacrifice is inevitable. Val smiled slightly, "But their blood will not be shed in vain, because the new world will be absolutely beautiful, because of their sacrifice humanity can live in peace forever, wouldn't it be wonderful?"
"It sounds like something that only comes out of a dream. "But your new world is built on the blood of countless innocent people, do you think anyone would really agree with such a thing?"
"It's okay not to agree. Val didn't seem to care, "When they see the results, they'll understand why we're doing it, and then they'll understand who's right!"
"You have completely lost your soul!" Rajer retorted, "you don't care about life at all, you only care about yourself, you only care about your own ideals imposed on everyone!"
"So what?" said Val, "you've lived so long, you must have seen more than I have, do you really think that the world is beautiful?"
"It's not a good world, but we live in it. Rajer said firmly, "We will survive in this world with our own will, face all challenges with our own courage, this is what we are human!"
"Then there's no need to go on. Val said in a regretful tone, "I didn't expect you to understand me anyway, so in that case, let's settle everything here once and for all." â
"You should be well aware of the disparity between our powers. "You can't have a chance to win, Val. â
"But I still want to give it a try. Val gripped the hilt of the crystal sword in his hand, "I've never won a challenge to you before, so let me challenge it again today!"
"Maybe it's just one more loss to your challenge. Rajer was ready to take it on, "But I'll accept your challenge, come, Val!"
"Let's get started. With a low groan, Val charged towards Rajer, who dodged Val's every move with great agility and then seized on the flaws of each of his moves and launched a swift counterattack.
In less than a minute, Val's knees, abdomen, and wrists were all attacked by Rajer's attack one after another, especially Rajer's attack on Vaal's wrist knocked down the crystal sword in his hand with just one stroke.
"The sword is not old. Val barely managed to get out of the grappling with Rajer, "I didn't expect it to be as powerful as before, but it only took a few moves to completely crack my attack." â
"Your moves are almost the same as before. Rajer shook his hand and said, "You've fought me many times before, do you think the same move will be useful?"
"That's true. Val quietly moved his left hand, "Then I'll try it with a move you haven't seen before!"
He jerked up his left hand, and several pitch-black tentacles stabbed directly at Rajer, but Rajer only smiled when he saw these tentacles, and the tentacles disappeared the moment they were about to hit Rajer.
"Is it space devouring?" Val could see at a glance the ability Rajer was using, "It's really creepy to be able to instantly devour what attacks you with other spaces." â
"Still. Val looked at Rajer's faintly black hand and said, "Why don't you use the Word's awakened powers? â
"There's no need to use that trick against you. Rajer slowly approached Val, "Now is enough, and I have some things I want to ask you." â
"Do you still have a hidden heart for me?" Val laughed, "but you're right, your defenses that you can't break through, and your physical skills that are superior to mine, are indeed enough to suppress me." â
"Are you going to throw in the towel?" asked the nameless man suddenly.
"Of course not. Val already had an idea of his own, "I already know a few things, just leave them to me, and I can assure you that they will have a chance to give them away." â
"What are you talking about?" Val was just talking to himself in Rajer's eyes, "It looks like the things inside you are still there, otherwise who were you talking to?"
"It's still there. Val reshaped a crystal axe in his right hand, "He's a lucky guy to be able to survive your utterly destructive abilities." â
"Did you survive?" Rajel was a little surprised, but the thought of what the Nameless Man had done suddenly made sense of what he had done.
"Then his vitality is indeed vigorous, and he still survived in that situation, so is it now the two of you who are ready to go together?"
"I'm enough for myself. Val laughed, "Isn't it good that you don't need that guy to intervene, it's just you and me in this fight?"
Rajer, you may have underestimated my determination, even if I knew that this battle would cost me my life, I would still participate, because I have chosen the path I will go on, and I will continue to move forward even if I give up my life for the sake of my ideals!
His eyes were serious, Rajer thought to himself as he looked into Val's eyes. That resolute look, have you made up your mind about what you want to do?Alright, old friend, I respect your choice, and I'll fight you until the last minute.
"In this last battle, somehow I feel very comfortable. Val exhaled a few deep breaths, his expression relaxed. "I'm ready, Rajer, to fight with me one last time as an old friend!"
"Then grant your wishes, old friend. Rajer knew it was all done, and he smiled calmly. "This last battle is my last farewell to you. â
