Chapter 7 Hechang No. 1 Middle School

Hechang No. 1 Senior High School was founded in 1892 (the eighteenth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty), and was originally named Hechang Government Middle School. It has gone through important development stages such as Guanghua Middle School, Provincial No. 3 Middle School, and Zhongyuan Workers' and Peasants' Middle School. In 1950, it was changed to its current name, and it is a prestigious century-old school. It is not only the leading key high school in the province, but also one of the few key high schools in the country. At the top of the high school ranks.

In 2002, in order to cooperate with the urban construction plan of the municipal government, but also for the sharing of school resources. Hechang No. 1 Middle School was further expanded, and at the same time, Hechang No. 7 Middle School, Hechang No. 8 Middle School and Hechang No. 26 Middle School were merged. Hechang No. 8 Middle School and Hechang No. 26 Middle School were demolished, and now they have been built into high-end communities. Hechang No. 7 Middle School was changed to a branch campus of the Technical Department of Hechang No. 1 Middle School, which is now Hechang No. 1 Middle East Campus, which covers an area of 260 acres. In 2011, Hechang No. 1 Middle School acquired two more poorly run private high schools.

Hechang No. 1 Middle School currently has more than 60,000 students and more than 4,200 teaching staff. There are 37 special teachers, 62 provincial discipline leaders, 138 municipal discipline leaders, and 1,692 senior teachers, with an average age of 36.2 years. The school currently has nearly 700 teaching classes. Among them, the high school has more than 300 classes. There are 85 classes in the first year of high school, and the class is not constant because a large number of repeat classes are to be formed in the second and third years of high school. This year, 116 teaching classes have been set up in the second year of high school, and 125 teaching classes have been set up in the third year of high school. The junior high school affiliated to Hechang No. 1 Middle School has 118 teaching classes, and the primary school and preschool education department have 87 classes.

In addition, the school has also set up a technical department of Hechang No. 1 Middle School, which aims to train young people in one skill, including computer, numerical control, auto repair, mold, welding, cook, excavator, beauty salon, radio, driving and other ten categories of more than 50 majors. It is divided into beginner class, intermediate class and advanced class. At present, it has 162 teaching classes with more than 7,600 people. Among them, molding, welding, cooking, beauty salon classes are in the Middle East.

Some specialized talents can only graduate after studying in the technical department for three to four years, and after graduation, they will be directly sent to employers in major cities, and the salary is considerable. Technical schools are the first choice for students who fail the college entrance examination and those who have graduated from junior high school and are unable to go to high school.

Hechang No. 1 Middle School sends more than 8,000 undergraduates to colleges and universities every year, and the high scores of candidates are admired by brother schools across the country. The first champion of arts and sciences in the province came from Hechang No. 1 Middle School every year.

The various plaques won by Hechang No. 1 Middle School are even more innumerable, not to mention the medals at the municipal and provincial levels, and even the national medal schools are too lazy to hang them at the school gate. According to legend, if the large and small plaques obtained by Hechang No. 1 Middle School over the years are paved on the ground as floor tiles, it is enough to pave the square in front of the school of more than 50 acres of Hechang No. 1 Middle School, and there are more than 20 pieces left on the third floor.

The base camp of this city's key middle school is located at the west end of Chaoyang Road (also known as Yizhong Street) in Hechang City, with a total area of more than 3,500 acres (including a campus park and a campus community) and a construction area of 2.2 million square meters. The green area of the headquarters of No. 1 Middle School has reached 48.6%, with more than 300,000 trees of various types, more than 900 varieties, and more than 600,000 square meters of lawn.

Let's focus on the base camp of Hechang No. 1 Middle School. In front of the 50-meter-wide South School Gate is an incomparably open off-campus square. At the top of the gate is written "Hechang City No. 1 Senior High School". It is said that this is an inscription written by a senior central leader who studied in Hechang No. 1 Middle School, and the font is unique and powerful.

The south school gate is also the main gate of Hechang No. 1 Middle School. On each side is a European-style four-storey building. The west side is the communication room and the security department, and the east side is the third health center of Hechang No. 1 Middle School. The southwest corner of the campus is a bus hub named after "Hechang No. 1 Middle School (Terminus)". Seven lines start here and 11 stop. In addition, there are a number of bus stops around the huge Hechang No. 1 Middle School, namely Hechang No. 1 Middle Gate South, Hechang No. 1 Middle Gate South, Hechang No. 1 Middle Gate North, Hechang No. 1 Middle South Gate West (the stop of Hechang No. 1 Middle School Bus Hub), Hechang No. 1 Middle South Gate East, Hechang No. 1 Middle School North Gate (also called Qingnian Road Yuhua Road Station), Hechang No. 1 Middle School North Gate East (No. 1 Middle School Food Street Station), Hechang No. 1 Middle School North Gate West, Hechang No. 1 Middle School West Gate, Hechang No. 1 Middle West Gate South and Hechang No. 1 Middle West Gate North. In addition, in order to facilitate the travel of teachers and staff, there are two bus stops in Hechang No. 1 Middle School, namely Chaoyang Community Station and Yuanding Road Station. 800 meters west of Hechang No. 1 Middle School is Hechang West Long-distance Bus Station, and 2000 meters west is Hechang West Station (high-speed rail station).

The first thing that catches your eye when you enter the South Gate is a large iconic sculpture that stands tall and tall. The 28-metre-tall sculpture is spectacular. On the pedestal of the sculpture more than 5 meters high, there are eight big characters engraved with "righteousness fighting the clouds, and the air runs through Changhong". The other side of the pedestal is engraved with the allegories and symbols of the sculpture.

The main sculpture of this steel structure is surrounded by many slick marble balls more than a meter high. In front of the school gate, there are two marble stone tablets, which are engraved with the school motto, school spirit and school song of Hechang No. 1 Middle School.

In this more than 50 acres of campus square, there are 8 large gardens of different shapes. In the center of each garden stands a white marble sculpture. Colorful flowers bloom here, bees and butterflies flutter in rows of green willows. There is a glass window under the willow tree, which often displays the students' excellent assignments or paintings, as well as a variety of newspapers. We convey all kinds of information from home and abroad to students. When night comes, the lights shine brightly and are spectacular.

Opposite the plaza is a 12-storey circular office building with a nine-square-meter bell tower on top of the building. Behind the office building, there is a 40-meter-wide green belt, followed by a large auditorium with a staircase that can accommodate more than 2,500 people. This is the place where the whole school holds academic exchanges, conferences and celebrations, and the big galas held here can be broadcast live throughout the school.

Behind the auditorium is a 10-storey complex, and the lower three floors were converted into "No. 1 Middle School Supermarket" in 2008. This supermarket has a business area of more than 6,000 square meters, mainly selling stationery such as pen, ink, paper, inkstone, and daily necessities for students.

Behind the supermarket is 38 towering school buildings. The first 26 buildings are five-storey and the last 12 are six-storey, with some floors connected to each other. Between the 38 buildings, there is a green belt and a table tennis table. Behind the teaching building is a large gymnasium with a total construction area of 22,600 square meters. The main hall has a construction area of 16,500 square meters, integrating physical education, physical training, sports competitions, theatrical performances, commercial activities and other functions. There are 4,160 fixed seats and 1,500 active seats. Commercial leasing is allowed.

These are the middle campuses of the campus, also known as the main teaching area. On both sides of the middle campus are two asphalt roads more than 30 meters wide, the east side is called Ziqiang Road, and the west side is called Jinjin Road. It is also the dividing line between the Middle Campus and the East and West Campuses, with parking spaces on both sides of the asphalt road, strip gardens and various small sculptures. There are many exotic flowers and plants in the garden.

At the southernmost end of the West Campus are 10 small three-storey buildings, which are the school's Primary School and Early Childhood Education Department. There are many amusement facilities in front of the building. You often see many cute little dolls playing here, and their cute expressions are very enviable.

From here, 50 meters further back, you will arrive at the school's library building, which is a very delicate and elegant five-story building. It has a collection of more than 5 million books. It includes a variety of encyclopedias and academic monographs, as well as a wide variety of study materials.

The library building is surrounded by green areas dotted with trees, lined with pines and cypresses, willows, small bridges, flowing water, fountains, corridors, stone tables, stools, birds and flowers. In this winding environment, you can stroll through the pavilion or sit on the stone pier with a scroll in hand and enjoy the fragrance of ink.

Behind the library building are 28 pink girls' apartment buildings. At the back of the girls' apartment complex is a large restaurant with 7 seats in one. They are numbered A•B•C•D•E•F•G. There are 3 floors above ground and 1 floor underground, and each restaurant has four patios. Plenty of sunlight can shine through the skylight to the basement floor. The architectural style is similar to Yiwu International Trade City.

There are 120 automatic production lines for washing, cutting, boiling and frying, which are enough to meet the dining needs of all teachers and students in the school. This is a new restaurant that just opened in 2012. Each block has 12 dining areas on each floor, which are air-conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter.

There is a large garden to the west of the large restaurant, opposite the west gate of Hechang No. 1 Middle School. A further 40 meters north of the restaurant is the 15-storey Tech Building. To the north of the science and technology building is the swimming pool, which is four floors high and has a construction area of 4,600 square meters. There are 10 50-meter lanes and 800 fixed seats. 8 yuan/hour for students, 10 yuan/hour for employees, and 15 yuan/hour for off-campus personnel.

Behind the swimming pool is the three-story Central Health Center. The above is the West Campus.

At the southernmost end of the East Campus, there are 18 5-storey buildings, which are the technical department of Hechang No. 1 Middle School. To the back of the mechanics department is a large expanse of auto repair shops and driving bases. To the rear of the driving base is a six-story science laboratory building. It includes a physics lab, a chemistry lab, a biology lab, and a fun lab.

Behind the laboratory building are two six-story cube buildings, all of which are encased in blue glass. These are two multimedia teaching buildings. The former building was used by the Ministry of Mechanics. There are 98 computer rooms of different sizes, with a total of more than 18,000 high-configuration computers, forming a large-scale local area network on campus. The surveillance images of the school's 2,586 probes are gathered here.

From here to the rear is the 236-row steel carport, which is a centralized place for all teachers and students to park their bicycles and electric vehicles. Behind the carport are 33 boys' apartment buildings. Further north of the boys' apartment complex is the old restaurant of Hechang No. 1 Middle School, which is five three-story buildings connected into one. At present, it belongs to the canteen of the junior high school and the technical department.

50 meters back from the old restaurant is the literary and artistic building that towers over the sky, referred to as the literary and artistic building. It is a 21-storey building (excluding 2 basement floors). It can be said that such a tall building is rare on a university campus. Standing on the top floor of the Arts Building is enough to have a bird's-eye view of the entire campus.

There are 8 enclosed elevators in this high-rise building. This is not only the highest point of the whole school, but also the landmark building of Hechang No. 1 Middle School, and it is also the pride of Hechang No. 1 Middle School. It's enough to make any other sister school bow down.

It is said that this literary building was donated in 2008 by 16 well-known alumni of Hechang No. 1 Middle School. On this building, there are 6 large literary clubs, 30 gymnasiums, 10 art rooms, 6 large rehearsal halls, 8 large conference rooms, 6 press stations, 4 broadcasting halls, 3 large exhibition centers, 35 free venting rooms, 18 psychological counseling centers, 10 music practice rooms and 40 table tennis rooms. In addition, there are 236 standard dormitories, 1 school TV station and 1 large basement shopping center.

On the top floor of the Literature and Art Building, there is an observatory and an astrology hall. Here we can only use two words to describe him, that is, "Niu B".

It is this literary and artistic building that has achieved the fame and reputation of Hechang No. 1 Middle School in the country. Later, many writers with extraordinary personalities, unique painters, and unconventional musicians came out of this high-rise building.

Behind the Literature and Art Building is a 520-acre garden of very beautiful flowers and fruits, which is known as the park in the campus. Huaguoyuan is facing the east gate of No. 1 Middle School (the old school gate built in 1962). It was the site of the original campus 100 years ago. Therefore, there are many ancient ruins of No. 1 Middle School, including the old teaching buildings that have been abandoned during the * period, and many old buildings before liberation. There is even a well-preserved old blue brick school house, built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. The carved beams and painted buildings are very exquisite. This area is known as the Nostalgia Garden.

The flower and fruit orchard is full of green trees, flowers and plants, bamboo, chrysanthemum, plum orchid, red peony, and more than 800 kinds of exotic flowers and plants. There are 28 ancient trees that are more than 100 years old, and one of them is a thousand-year-old ginkgo biloba, and the trunk can only be hugged by six people. Under the tree is a protective stone monument erected by the city government in 1980, but in fact, this ginkgo tree has been preserved as an ancient tree since the school was founded 100 years ago. Experts speculate that the tree should be more than 1,800 years old, and now this thousand-year-old ginkgo tree is regarded as a treasure of the town's school. It is surrounded by white marble fences, and six-way monitoring is installed from different angles.

The flower and fruit garden is divided into plum garden, chrysanthemum garden, bamboo garden, peony garden, rose garden, fitness garden and nostalgia garden. There are various chairs and small sculptures of various shapes and shapes. In addition, the flower orchard has a sparkling artificial lake and a 36-meter artificial mountain with the main peak.

The artificial lake is named "Yaliang Lake", and the lake area is about 60 acres. There is a 3,600-square-meter island in the south of the lake, called Qingfeng Island. The island is dotted with a variety of flowers and trees, winding paths, and is connected to the south shore by arched bridges.

The shores of the lake are planted with red, yellow and white water lilies, and fish heads are crowded on the surface of the lake from time to time. On the west side, there is a long knowledge bridge that connects directly to the classical pavilion in the middle of the lake. In the center of the pavilion there is a statue of Confucius, and the original text of the Analects is engraved in front of the statue. The guardrails on both sides of the Seeking Knowledge Bridge are engraved with the classic language of ancient and modern Chinese and foreign celebrities.

The man-made mountain in the park is named "Hongdu Mountain", covering an area of about 40 acres. Around the main peak, there are sub-peaks of different shapes of different heights, and the whole mountain shape has curved and stretched, steep and gentle. There are six rugged mountain trails leading to the main peak on all sides. There is a viewing platform at the top of the peak, and in the center of the platform is a six-meter-high statue of Lei Feng. There is a hexagonal pavilion on the east and west peaks. The East Pavilion is a famous view of the day, with an area of 86.2 square meters. The west pavilion is famous for moon viewing, with an area of 72 square meters.

There is a large open lawn on the south side of Hongdu Mountain. Every morning, teachers and students read books and newspapers here, and some students in the painting class sketch here. You can also see a beautiful female teacher who can sing and dance and a group of children from the nursery class playing games here.

Huaguoyuan is praised as a paradise by the students. Every time I graduate, my classmates and friends will come here to take a group photo. Or in front of the sculpture, or by the willows, or by the fountain clear pool......

Behind the orchard is the stadium, which has 76 basketball and 28 volleyball courts, as well as countless table tennis tables. There are also two 400-metre plastic track and field tracks.

The East and West Campuses and the Central Campus are collectively known as the South Campus. The North Campus is an expansion of the South Campus. There are basically no tall buildings on the North Campus. So it looks more empty. There is only one large stage for performances, which is the rostrum of the military parade to be used during military training. Behind the stage is a three-story building that integrates with the front desk. There is a dressing room and a dressing room. The steel beams above the stage are covered with various laser lights. The whole school holds several large-scale theatrical evenings here every year.

In the middle of the North Campus is an incomparably wide plastic playground, covering an area of nearly 100 acres. This is the military training ground that freshmen will use immediately, and there is a 1,000-meter circular track in the center of the field. To the east of the large playground there is a 105×70 standard lawn football field, and a high-altitude lighthouse is installed above. Surrounded by stepped seats, the lawn looks like a green carpet from afar. It is usually maintained by a special person, and can only be used publicly when the whole school or the whole league is made by the student council to the school after making a written application. The stadium is rented out. To the west of the large playground are 12 free 70×40 small football fields, surrounded by willows.

At the rear of the North Campus stands six rows of 52 16-story buildings. This is the family building of the faculty and staff of Hechang No. 1 Middle School, which is named Chaoyang Community. There are also some students who rent accommodation here. There are two commercial streets between the buildings, one is called Gardener Road and the other is called Yuhua Road. Yuhua Road is facing the north gate of No. 1 Middle School. There are four bus lines that go directly to the two bus stops on campus through the north gate of No. 1 Middle School. The two streets are lined with shops, restaurants and supermarkets. There are more than 3,600 parking spaces between the buildings, and the green area is spotless with flowers and springs, surrounded by green trees and flowers, and the environment is elegant and pleasant.

The above is the basic layout of the main campus of Hechang No. 1 Middle School, which is known as a high-end and high-grade garden-style school by the world. As for the second campus of Hechang No. 1 Middle School (formerly Hechang No. 7 Middle School), we will not repeat it. From the above introduction, it can be seen that Hechang No. 1 Middle School is absolutely first-class in terms of hardware facilities and software resources, and its domineering point is enough to outperform some university campuses. No wonder a large number of students from other places have come here......

With more than 60,000 students, Hechang No. 1 Middle School has also brought great business opportunities to the surrounding area, and commercial stores named after Hechang No. 1 Middle School can be seen everywhere outside the school. What is a middle hotel, a middle hotel, a bath, a middle hotel, a middle school guest house, a middle school barber shop, a middle supermarket, a middle hotel, a middle food stall, a middle convenience store, a middle school Internet café, a middle food street, a middle printing, a middle bookstore, a middle clothing city and so on.
