Chapter 497: No Trick Wins, No Trick!

Although I think the abbot's appearance is a little annoying, I still have to answer his questions.

Moreover, he asked me a question with such a gesture today, which was clearly to test my experience in studying the scriptures and zazen during this time.

Twenty days of penance have allowed me to gradually understand some simple truths.

The Heart Sutra is not actually a Buddhist classic, but just a monk who has attained the Tao to study some of the experience of the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra, to help some disciples who have just entered the Buddhist door to better understand the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra, Buddhism people believe that after reading the Heart Sutra, the Buddhist Sutra is considered to be the entry, and the Heart Sutra is mana, which can eliminate karma, enlighten wisdom, and bring great benefits to everyone who studies the Heart Sutra.

This is also the reason why the abbot asked me to study the simple interpretation of the Heart Sutra.

Although the Heart Sutra has a small number of words, the philosophical principles contained in it are relatively profound.

I immediately said, "Master, as far as I understand, the Heart Sutra tells us not to be deceived by appearances, and to see the true meaning of life, so that we can transcend all suffering and misfortune. ”

When the abbot heard my words, he glanced at it, and there was a hint of surprise in his eyes, as if he didn't expect me to say these things, and then said: "Well, a little insight, then the teacher asks you, the color is not different from the void, the emptiness is not different from the color, the color is empty, and the emptiness is the color, what does it mean?" ”

I thought about it for a moment and said, "Any material phenomenon is dependent and has a phase, it has a function, but there is no eternal and unchanging master in its phase and function, so it is said to be empty. The so-called emptiness does not refer to the emptiness outside the object, nor does it refer to the emptiness after the empty object is extinguished, but 'the body is empty'. Color is the ...... of dependent origins"

I talked eloquently in front of the abbot master, and during this time I was forced to study the Heart Sutra, but I also had some understanding.

When the abbot heard my words, his eyes were even more surprised, and it was evident that he had not expected me to say so much.

At first, the abbot nodded in approval, but when he arrived, there was a confused look in his eyes, as if he didn't understand what I was saying.

In fact, when it comes to the back, I'm quite confused myself, I don't know what kind of bullshit I'm talking about, but what I want to express is still very clear.

The main point of the Heart Sutra is that the laws of nature are true and credible, so we should pursue the truth without obstacles, because the mind is not hindered, so we will not be affected too much by the outside world, and it will be easier for us to transcend the troubles of the world and achieve success.

This and the abbot's arguments, unconsciously, the sky was bright.

After listening to me, the abbot wiped the cold sweat on his forehead with his sleeve and said, "It's okay, it's okay!" Let's start learning knife skills today. ”

Seeing the appearance of the abbot, I almost couldn't help but laugh out loud.

In terms of understanding Buddhism, I naturally can't compare to the abbot who has been immersed in the abbot for a lifetime, but the abbot is old and hasn't had much contact with the outside world, so he doesn't understand many new terms, but he is the abbot of the dignified Biyun Temple.

However, in the end, I passed the exam, which made me feel very excited, and finally started to learn the knife technique in earnest?

The abbot asked me to hand over the Daguan knife to him, and then explained to me the principle of the knife, saying: "The knife method is the most powerful, seeking changeable, and the pursuit of rigor, a total of splitting, chopping, chopping, teasing, hanging, picking, cloud, sweeping and other key points, there is also a knife spectrum, fixed moves." However, the teacher believes that the moves are dead, people are alive, and the so-called moves are just the tricks of some grandstanding people, flashy, you don't need to learn the moves, you just need to master the essentials, and can really use them properly. ”

When I heard the abbot's words, I couldn't help but ask, "What does Master mean that there are no tricks to win?" ”

The abbot said: "You can say that, but you can't say it completely, with your level not reaching that level, I just ask you to abandon the flashy things of martial arts performances and pursue practicality." It's like this. As he spoke, he danced in a circle with the knife in one hand, and with a swish, the Daguan knife of nearly a hundred catties swept over, bringing a strong sound of wind, and the speed was no less than that of Brother Yao.

I was so frightened that I hurriedly jumped back, only to see that after a knife swept around, the abbot did not start the follow-up action, but said to me lightly: "A knife like this can obviously complete the action very simply, but some people who deceive the world and steal their reputation and claim to be martial arts masters always have to add some boring fancy actions, which is simply ridiculous and generous." ”

I heard the abbot's words, I feel that what he said is very reasonable, in the past, I saw those so-called martial arts performers on TV, performing kung fu, I always felt flashy, and when I heard the abbot's words, I felt that it was very reasonable.

"Master, then how should I practice?"

I asked.

The abbot said, "I will only teach you the essentials of the basic movements, and the rest will depend on your own comprehension, which is also based on your understanding of the Heart Sutra." After speaking, he showed me the seven essentials of knife technique.

Don't look at the old abbot's weak look, but the Daguan knife of nearly 100 catties in his hand seems to be completely effortless, even more powerful than Brother Yao's Daguan knife.

Brother Yao's Daguan knife is fierce, but it always gives people a sense of incoherence, and the big knife in the abbot's hand, when the wind is fast, the wind rings in the ear, if it is thunderous, when it is slow, it feels calm like a mountain, as if it is solid and unbreakable.

What surprised me the most was that the old abbot was playing with such a big knife at such an age, and his face was not red or panting, which made me worry in vain before, for fear that he would suddenly exert too much force and flash his waist or something.

After a while, the abbot finished the rehearsal and asked me if I had remembered.

I was stunned on the spot and said embarrassedly, "Master, your performance just now was so wonderful that I didn't remember anything." ”

The abbot was not happy at the time, threw the Daguan knife to me, and said, "Punish you for a day of practice, and wait until you remember." ”

In this way, I was left by the abbot to practice in Tallinn.

Although I don't remember his movements clearly, I still have a general impression that the repeated rehearsal over and over again in Tallinn, and then the impression of the abbot playing with a big knife just now, actually reminded me of the essentials of each of the abbot's movements.

But it's one thing to think about it, it's another thing to be able to do it, and it's very difficult to do it like Master Abbot to run a Daguan knife as expected.

Sometimes a knife is cut out, the force is too strong, the body loses its center of gravity and falls out, if it is in actual combat, it will definitely suffer a big loss, and after the cut, I don't know what to do next.

Although there are many problems, I am not discouraged, and I know that if I continue to practice hard, I will definitely gain something.

After practicing for a day, and returning to the dormitory to rest in the evening, Ning Caijie made a phone call, saying that she hadn't seen me for several days, and asked me to go down the mountain to see her the next day.

I told Ning Caijie that the abbot finally taught me the knife technique today, and the time is very tight, so I will try to learn it as soon as possible and go down the mountain, so that she can endure it for the time being.

On the second day, the abbot began to instruct me on how to close the knife, how to maintain balance, how to keep the knife moving, and so on.

I made a very fatal mistake before, the abbot told me that if you have seven points of strength and three points of back, unless you have the certainty of victory, it is taboo to go all out, because if you go all out, you will miss a blow, and then you will be weak, and it is easy to be caught by the opponent.

In this way, I practiced hard in Biyun Temple for a whole week, and I already had some experience in the use of the broadsword, and gradually I was able to swing the broadsword smoothly, so that it would not be as flawed as at the beginning.

And on this day, the abbot brought a wooden stick and asked me to attack him with a big knife.

I glanced at the wooden stick in the abbot's hand, a fist is as thick, less than a meter long, and I feel humiliated, Master Abbot, although I know that you are a master, but this is too much to look down on my bald head? He said, "Master, your stick is too short, I'm afraid...... I'm afraid ......"

After a long time, it was difficult to speak, for fear of hurting the abbot, after all, the abbot was a generation of masters, and it was difficult to be unhappy or something when he said this.
