Tokyo is a dense, fast-paced city, and everything tells you about its efficiency and rush, whether it's the crowded streets, the frequent trains, or the skyscrapers that stretch into the sky. ★ Meiji Jingu

Located in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Meiji Jingu is a place dedicated to the shrines of the Meiji Emperor and his wife, and is an important shrine in Shinto, Japan. It is home to one of the largest green spaces in central Tokyo, making it a great choice for a tour.

Get off at Harajuku Station on the JR Yamanote Line and follow the signs towards Meiji Jingu and you'll see a huge log torii gate that opens up to a wide gravel road.

The road is lined with dense towering trees, almost blocking out the sun's rays and the hustle and bustle of the city, instantly placing you in a tranquil primeval jungle. From the height of the trees and the thickness of the branches, it can be seen that they are all old plants, and some plants also have popular science introductions on the side.

They have gone through the ups and downs, seen the vicissitudes of life, are witnesses of the years, you may not hear their stories, but you can quietly look up to them, feel their breath, that is a special way of dialogue.

The shrine is nestled deep in the tranquil greenery, and its huge eaves are painted pale green to match the spring atmosphere. If you go inside, you can experience the Japanese shrine culture up close.

In front of the shrine, you can ask for a sign or a peace charm, and the wish card under the protection of two big trees seems to have a full possibility of fulfillment.

Meiji Jingu Shrine is a great place for Tokyoites to take a leisurely stroll because of its convenient access and wide green space. In the early spring, the dissipating cold provides an excellent environment for the sprouts of green plants, allowing the body, mind and soul to enjoy the tranquility and leisurely of this urban jungle.

★ A promenade of the wind

Friends who like Miyazaki should be familiar with the Mitaka Museum of Art, where there are various scenes from Miyazaki's fairy tales, which are both interesting and fantastic, and very beautiful. Today, I would like to recommend not the museum itself, but one of the roads leading to the museum, the Wind Promenade, which is the best place to experience the breath of spring.

When you get off JR Mitaka Station and walk east along the overpass, you will see a sign for the Mitaka Museum of Art, and you will find a promenade that leads to a quiet path with an extraordinary atmosphere. On the north side of the road is a dense forest, and the flowers on the side of the road pour out the breath of spring to passers-by with blooming life; On the south side of the road are residential areas, almost all of which are less than six storeys long, which is very Japanese, but also has some European elements.

There are not many people along the way, but occasionally there are students, mothers with children, women in traditional kimonos, and police officers on patrol...... You can experience the slow pace that is rare in Tokyo. Along the way, you will occasionally pass by a few small shops with special characteristics, whether it is from the exterior decoration or the products sold inside, you can feel the wisdom and care of the owner.

The Mitaka Museum of Art's countdown signs appear every other paragraph, but I don't need them to remind me that I feel like I'm in a fairy tale world.

★ University of Tokyo

When it comes to going out, I always put the university campus in my itinerary, because spring is the beginning of the year and full of vitality, just as a university campus can always bring people a sense of prosperity; And the green space and landscape that are never lacking on campus will be more flavorful under the decoration of spring.

During my trip to Tokyo, I chose the University of Tokyo, Japan's No. 1 university, which is the highest academic institution in Japan and has a high reputation in the world. With a history of more than 100 years, Todai's Akamon Gate is named for its vermilion lacquer, and its bright red color complements the surrounding greenery.

Even though it was a weekend, the crowds made me feel like there must be some event going on, and as expected, it was the University of Tokyo's Spring Gakuen Festival, one of the most important events in Japanese universities.

The students sang, danced and performed acrobatics at the event...... Show off your own unique skills; At the same time, there will be a lot of mock shops, selling all kinds of food, groceries, etc. From delicious octopus meatballs, to beef barbecue, to hot spring egg noodles...... There are many stalls that line the main thoroughfare of the entire campus, providing delicious food for visitors who can satisfy their stomachs.

Because it is an open event, many Japanese people also come to the university school festival to join in the fun, the elderly come to experience the culture of young people, and mothers bring their children to experience university life in advance. When you are tired of shopping, you can sit on a chair on the side of the road, blowing the gentle spring breeze, which is so pleasant.

The Yasuda Lecture Hall is an important academic symbol of the University, and the tree-lined avenue in front of it takes on different hues in the four seasons, making it one of the must-see spots for tourists.

★ Imperial Palace Gardens

The Imperial Palace, where the emperors of Japan lived, is bounded by a moat and is surrounded by skyscrapers in the heart of Tokyo. The Imperial Palace is divided into Inner and Outer Gardens, which are only open on special days, such as the Emperor's birthday, and can only be visited by visitors to the Outer Garden and the East Garden (both free of charge).

A 10-minute walk from the bustling Tokyo Station takes you to the Imperial Palace, where you cross the bridge over the moat and see a secluded green world that looks like a scene from Spirited Away. The roads here are paved with gravel and rustle when stepped on, and are said to have been set up in ancient times to prevent Assassin night attacks.

The East Garden is the back garden of the royal family, with towering trees, green lawns, and small bridges and flowing water dotted with flowers...... Visitors can take a stroll while taking in the view, and there are plenty of historic buildings and chic courtyards designed for taking photos. Many visitors chatted on the seats in the garden, and some ate bento; The passing pigeons are enjoying the crumbs in the hands of well-wishers.

★ Urban corners

In fact, the most beautiful scenery is not necessarily only in the scenic spots, and when you go to Tokyo, you will often inadvertently find the mark of spring. It's like when I walked around Roppongi, and although there were many high-rise buildings everywhere, there were also hidden natural pictures in the corners from time to time.

There may be dense woods in the middle of the buildings, and the rooftop of the building may have built a plant landscape, and the morning glory in the flower bed is white, pink, red, and purple...... A variety of colors. I was also very fortunate to encounter the grand scene of "Yoga for a Thousand People", where the body and nature can be in dialogue, and the body and mind can touch the green space in return, which is a special way for Tokyo people to feel spring, have you experienced?
