Chapter 406: Grandmaster Master
Zen Buddhism and Pure Land Buddhism are just famous differences, who said that Zen Purity must be two different methods? If you fix this, you can't fix the other? When it comes to duty, all laws are the same, how can they come from each other.
Although there are many conveniences, there is no two ways to return to the yuan.
Some people say that to practice meditation, you must break all attachments, so isn't it a contradiction to regenerate the faith and desire to live in the Pure Land? Shouldn't the brain be divided?
To practice Zen Buddhism, it is necessary to break all attachments. However, practicing Zen Buddhism is not just about breaking attachments!
Breaking all attachments is called "no dwelling".
You forget, there is also "raw heart"!
What do you mean by "giving birth to the heart"?
Didn't the Diamond Sutra say that Su Bodhi asked the Buddha, how to settle down after developing bodhicitta How do you subdue their hearts?
The Buddha said that those who cultivate all goodness and save all sentient beings are unexceeded.
Detachment is "no dwelling", but there is also "cultivating all goodness" in the future, and we have to do our best to save all sentient beings!
So if I make a wish to be reborn in the Pure Land, to attain enlightenment quickly, and to return to Suva as soon as possible, is this "cultivating all goodness"?
Some people also say that the difference between Zen purity and purity is not the form, whether you are participating in meditation or chanting Buddha, but whether you have a faith to make a vow and whether you have a wish to live in the Pure Land.
It's okay to say this to beginners, but don't cling to it.
Who said that those who practice Zen Buddhism can't make a vow? Could it be that Zen Buddhism and the Pure Land are contradictory and enemies?
Zen is not everything, but everything.
Don't you smell the clouds of faith and theory, such as coming to hide the immeasurable merits?
The Western Pure Land outside the 10 trillion Buddha Land, although the road is long, also belongs to the things in my heart. If it's not something in my heart, how can I get it?
In the same way, the faith of the Pure Land is also something in my heart.
Xu Bi Pure Land is the thing in my heart, and my heart is in it.
Why don't you allow the Pure Land to be a thing in my heart, not something in my heart?
Zen purification of the four materials picking, the practice of turtle appreciation
Material picking is the meaning of weighing choice. With the dual identity and qualifications of the patriarch of Zen Buddhism and the patriarch of Pure Sect, the master interpreted the intrinsic connection between Zen Buddhism and the Pure Land, and constructed a reference system for later generations of practitioners to make pure and rational choices, which had a great influence on future generations. Master Yinguang highly respected the selection of the four materials, and praised Yun: "Fu Yongming material selection is the outline of the Great Collection, and the tortoise of cultivation." Every word is like a heaven made, no word is inappropriate, and no word can be changed. It can be described as "a treasure raft in the maze, a dangerous road mentor". The Master Quadruple Picker is:
There is Zen and a pure land, like a tiger with horns, a teacher in this life, and a Buddha in the next life.
There is no Zen and there is a pure land, and ten thousand people will go, if you can see the Buddha, why not be enlightened.
There is Zen but no pure land, ten people and nine roads, if the underworld appears, follow him.
There is no Zen, no pure land, iron beds and copper pillars, thousands of calamities and thousands of lives, and no one is to rely on.
The interpretation of the four material picking, there are many differences, and I would like to follow the words of the master of Yinguang, and slightly apply it. To understand the meaning of the four material picking, we must first know in detail, what is Zen? What is the Pure Land? What does "Zen" mean? What does it mean to be "pure"? Yin Zu believes that the two concepts of Zen and Pure Land are from the perspective of reason and doctrine; Zen and purity are based on two perspectives: alignment and practice. From the point of view of teaching, there is no difference between Zen and purity; However, judging from the perspective of opportunity and practice, there is a big difference between Zen Buddhism and Pure Buddhism. The path of practice is different, and the body of the argument is not different.
What is Zen? That is, the true nature of our people is like the Buddha nature, and the so-called parents of the sect are the original face before they were born. What is netting? That is, the belief in the desire to hold the name and seek to live and recuperate, not to refer to the Pure Land of Idealism and the Self-nature of the Buddha. What is Zen? That is, to participate in the extreme power, to remember the death of loneliness, and to see the original face of the parents before they were born, which is the realm of clear insight. What does it mean to be pure? That is, the true bodhicitta is born, and the letter is made to vow to hold the name of the Buddha and live in the Pure Land of the West. If you do not attain enlightenment, or if you do not understand it, you cannot be called Zen. If the Buddha is paranoid and idealistic and has no faith, or if he has faith but does not make a sincere wish, he cannot be called a Pure Land.
Therefore, the four materials of the master can be briefly translated as follows: If a person has a clear mind and sees nature and recites the Buddha to survive in the Pure Land, his person is as powerful as a tiger with horns; He can be a teacher in this life, and he can become a Buddha in the next life. If people are not enlightened, but chant the Buddha to survive, the Pure Land 10,000 people believe in the Buddha, and 10,000 people will be able to achieve the past life; When the flowers bloom to visit Amitabha, why don't you worry about enlightenment? ! If a person sees nature clearly and does not recite the Buddha to survive in the Pure Land, nine out of ten people will be delayed. If the bardo appears at the end of life, the person with heavy karma will be born in the corresponding path of good and evil. If a person is neither enlightened nor reciting the Buddha to seek survival in the Pure Land, and at the end of his life he appears the iron bed of hell and the blazing bronze pillar, and endures the severe suffering of thousands of calamities and thousands of lives, and has no good karma to inspire others to come to his aid.
As we all know, Buddhist scriptures have a very big feature, and they have always been confused about time. So much so that archaeologists cannot investigate the time of the Buddhist scriptures in various periods. Was there no calendar in India at that time? Or did the Buddha and his disciples not understand the benefits of keeping a clear record of time?
Time achievement: time is "a time", the Buddhist scriptures are not like now to remember a certain year, a month and a certain day clearly, said that all beings have a fate, can feel the Buddha that appears in response, induction of Taoism, do not lose its time, hence the name of the achievement.
There are different opinions about the time limit of the three hours, but it is said that after the Buddha entered and perished, the Dharma had 500 years, and the Dharma was 1,000 years; Or after 1,000 years of the Dharma and the Dharma, it is the end of the Dharma period, and after 10,000 years, the Dharma is extinguished. In other words, it is said that the Fa-rectification is 1,000 years, and the image of the Fa and the end of the Fa are each 5,000 years. There are also sayings about the Dharma living for a long time, all of which are recorded in the scriptures. It can be seen that the three stages of Buddhism are metaphors, not some definite time explanations.
Looking at the "Great Collection of Moon Scriptures" again, who are the objects of the statement? Bodhisattvas, celestial beings, ghosts and gods. Six million monks. So let me ask, where did these six million bhikshus come from? And the time of celestial beings, ghosts, gods, etc. is the same as that of our human world?
If we must say that the modern attainment is the period of the end of the Dharma, then what is the period of the end of the Dharma mentioned in other sutras? Are those scriptures apocrypha? It can be seen that those who blindly talk about things in the period of the end of the Dharma will distort the Buddhist scriptures. Take a parable as the ultimate meaning.
So, what is the real meaning of the end of the Dharma period? When we are practicing the Dharma, that is the Dharma era! The Buddha said to his disciples more than once, "When you see the Dharma, you see the Buddha!" ”
Look at the current situation in the world: filth and evil are full, and the five desires are blazing. This fire of afflictions drives some people who have good roots in the world to enter the Buddha Gate to seek a touch of coolness, but after hearing the Dharma, they do not use the Dharma to treat their troubles, and always think: Oh, what a Buddha is a living person! How can we, ordinary people with karma, compare it to that? Although these methods are good, I may not be able to cultivate them......
If you encounter some obstacles, you will believe more in the conclusions you have made for yourself, and think that you will not be able to free yourself from this world. What's worse is that in order to promote a certain method, many mages do not teach the public what the real Dharma is in accordance with the law, but instead hype up the "end of the Dharma period", or simply call it the "end of the Dharma era". As evidence, they do not know that this affirms several sutras while also negating more sutra accounts. This is blasphemy.
Looking at the teachings of the ancient patriarchs, when talking about this period of the end of the Dharma, they all directly quote the scriptures without directly making a conclusion about the exact time period of a certain human being, and no sentient beings can leave a certain Dharma gate and no one can leave the Three Realms.
Don't you see in the sutra that the Buddha once said, "The good roots of all living beings are inconceivable"? Time is just a kind of false distinction between sentient beings.
What is the "end of the law"? For the Buddha's holy teachings not to be followed, to look slack, to be overcome by troubles, this is the end of the Dharma!
When the Buddha taught the Dharma in the royal palace, only one-third of the people saw the Buddha and listened to the Buddha's teachings, one-third of the people only heard that there was such a Shakyamuni Buddha in the city, but they had never met him, and one-third of the people had not even heard of the Buddha's holy name!
So, at that time, how should these three types of people calculate the Fa-rectification, like the Fa, and the end of the Fa-period?
In conclusion, don't pay attention to what the three phases of Buddhism say, you must know that we can hear the Buddha's name, see the Three Tibetan Sutras, and practice according to the law. This is the Fa-rectification period.
