Chapter 256: Martyrs' Shrine

Although it was already dark, the sun had no intention of showing its face. Since the twenty-eighth of the lunar month, there have been snowflakes in the sky, and now it is the twenty-ninth of the lunar month, the day before the thirtieth day of the Chinese New Year's Eve, but the snowflakes in the sky are still floating, and dozens of steps away is already a vast expanse.

However, it snowed for a day and a night, but it failed to dye the entire Bianjing City.

The sky was slightly bright, and the people of Bianjing, who had already received the news, went out of their homes one after another and crowded behind the forbidden soldiers on both sides of the main road outside the imperial city. On the main road, there are already Manchu civil and military ministers waiting here.

Suddenly, a dull trumpet sounded, and the palace gate creaked open, and a team of forbidden troops rushed out, standing on both sides of the main road, and then there were one hundred and twenty people in full uniform, and the forbidden army riding war horses took the lead out of the palace gate, and then one hundred and twenty palace maids were divided into two columns, holding incense burners, palace lamps, or holding treasure fans, jade bottles, and then two columns of pure troops dressed in military uniforms and holding halberds.

Later, Zhao Huan, who looked solemn and did not have a trace of smile on his face, wore a crown of twelve crowns on his head, wearing a red dragon robe embroidered with dragon patterns, Zhai patterns and twelve chapter patterns, and sat on the imperial chariot, and there were sixty heavily armed forbidden army guards around the huge imperial chariot, followed by one hundred and twenty heavily armed forbidden troops, followed by three thousand cavalry.

Since Zhao Huan ascended the throne to the present, this is the first time that the people of Bianjing City have seen Zhao Huan use such a grand guard of honor of the Son of Heaven to travel.

Jin Fushi and Pu Chengxing, who were standing among the envoys of various countries behind the hundred officials, also saw the real imperial honor guard for the first time, and the two of them who were shocked beyond words glanced at each other, and then honestly lowered their heads, and maintained a slightly bowed posture like other envoys.

For the first time, the seed master Dao, who stood at the head of the hundred officials, took a step forward, first bowed down and saluted with his fists, then straightened up again, and said in a loud voice: "By the will of the official family!" The Martyrs' Shrine was completed, and the official family led hundreds of civil and military officials to sacrifice! ”

Zhao Huan nodded slightly, and said in a loud voice: "Get up!" ”

Once again, the seed master bowed slightly and clasped his fists in salute, straightened up and shouted: "Edict! Rise~! Son of Heaven traveling? The gods get out of the way! ”

The Martyrs' Shrine was not built in Bianjing City, but on a hill in the south of the city.

It's not that Zhao Huan doesn't want to put the Martyrs' Shrine in Bianjing City, but it's not an exaggeration to describe Bianjing City as an inch of land and every inch of gold now? Can the people set up a stall in Bianjing City under the root of the imperial city? There is not enough space left for the Martyrs' Shrine.

So when Zhao Huan arrived at the Martyrs' Shrine with hundreds of civil and military officials? It was almost noon, and the wind and snow were getting heavier.

Because Zhao Huan is riding the royal chariot, and there is a Huang Luo umbrella on the imperial chariot? So Zhao Huan didn't have much snow on him. And the forbidden soldiers who have already reached the Martyrs' Shrine for martial law have already become snowmen one by one? Only an eager, alert look can prove that this is a living person.

Behind these forbidden soldiers, they have been working day and night since the first year of Jingkang? It was not until the 28th of the third year of Jingkang that the martyr's shrine was completed.

The whole Martyrs' Shrine presents a precipitated blue-gray color? It feels dignified? Rough. Closer? You can clearly see the three archways? Layer by layer from south to north. The outermost archway has three holes? The roof is also carved from granite. At the foot of the four doorposts, there are four stone lions squatting with evil spirits. The position in the middle of the bucket arch above is written the three words of the Martyrs' Shrine, and the big characters like iron strokes and silver hooks reveal an indescribable tragic atmosphere. On the left and right sides of the torii are a pair of couplets. On the left is written: The shroud of a hundred battles is returned, it is advisable to hide the ape and crane hidden building, and the unicorn high mound; On the right is written: Qianqiu Lingshuang is here? Is there Chang Hong's blood in this? Martyrs are well-dressed.

Moving on? Got to the second torii again? Just like the first archway in front, but the memorial arch is written in the middle of the heroic spirit immortal four words, the left side of the upper couplet is: blue blood stained yellow sand? Take righteousness and become benevolent, and should be immortal; The lower link on the right is: Elite Huihe Stone, greedy for life and afraid of death, don't come here.

When it comes to the third archway, the middle of the archway is empty, and there is no word such as writing any words such as horizontal criticism, and the left and right sides are no longer couplets, but become two sentences. On the left: Your names are unknown; On the right is: Your deeds live forever.

Connecting the three arches, it is a huge, the whole body is carved from granite Baoding Xishan-style stone monument. In addition to the center of the stele, the pedestal below and the large and small two-story Sumeru seat used up 9,998 pieces of granite and white marble.

In the middle of the south side of the stele, carved with Zhao Huan's handwritten "from the Yanhuang to the fall, all the heroes who sacrificed their lives for China are immortal", there is a five-clawed dragon on both sides of each winds up, to the top of the stele into a double dragon playing with pearls. The upper layer of the small Sumeru seat is engraved with eight wreaths composed of peonies, lotuses, chrysanthemums, drapes, etc.

Passing through three arches in a row, and then passing the stone monument, about 300 steps later, is the main hall of the martyrs' shrine. There are nine steps in front of the hall, and three passages are separated by white jade railings. The whole hall flies the eaves and arches, and the name of the hall in the middle is also engraved with the three big characters of the martyr's shrine in Zhao Huan's handwriting.

Different from the three big characters of the martyrs' shrine on the outermost archway, the martyrs' shrine on the main hall is a little less. In the plaza outside the main hall, four life-size iron kneeling statues are placed, each with its name engraved on the back. From left to right, they are engraved with the Bank of China, Jia Jian, Shi Jingtang, and Xu Baixiang.

Entering the main hall of the Martyrs' Shrine, there is a huge shadow wall in front of you, with the word "heaven and earth" written on it, and a bottle of earth incense burner is placed on the table. Starting from both sides of the word "heaven and earth", one by one the tablets are stacked on top of each other to extend to the back of the hall, even if they can't be counted. Some of them are engraved with names, and more of them are not even names, only words such as so-and-so, so-and-so, and so and so.

Zhao Huan didn't dare to blink anymore. After being the emperor for two lifetimes, Zhao Huan originally thought that his heart was hard enough, even if he ordered the slaughter of the city and the construction of the capital view, he would not change his face. But when Zhao Huan saw these tablets, his eyes still couldn't stop being a little pantothenic.

After Zhao Huan lit the incense and inserted it into the incense burner, the civil and military officials went up to the incense in turn. Green smoke rose from the ground, enveloping the entire hall, making it more and more sacred and solemn.

After the tedious memorial ceremony was completed, Zhao Huan led the civil and military officials out of the martyr's shrine. At this time, the huge open space in front of the Martyrs' Shrine was already crowded with people, and only the place left for Zhao Huan and Baiguan to walk was isolated by the forbidden military human wall.

Zhao Huan glanced at the crowd present, and suddenly said loudly: "Please everyone remember!" In this world, there has never been a quiet time, but blood and fire are slaughtered every day! The matter of Yongzhou, Yin Jian is not far away! ”

After finishing speaking, Zhao Huan stretched out his hand and pointed to the hall of the Martyrs' Shrine behind him, and said loudly: "It is these martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country and used their flesh and blood to keep the killing out of the country!"

All of us here today, including me and our children and grandchildren, should not forget who has given us a stable life.

Since then, all those who have sacrificed their lives for the country, regardless of civil and military affairs, and regardless of official position, have entered the martyrs' shrine to worship, so that the heroic souls can enjoy blood and food. As long as my Great Song Dynasty is not extinguished one day, the Martyrs' Shrine will last forever! ”
