This has a lot to do with the test driver, and Zhang Xiangqian needs to feel it carefully.

If the supercharger is driven by the engine, this is supercharging, and if the supercharger is driven by the exhaust gas, this is exhaust gas turbocharging.

In addition to the Soviet T-72 tank is still using mechanical supercharging, other advanced tank engines have been over-turbocharged to the ranks, after all, mechanical supercharging consumes additional power, and turbocharging uses exhaust gases, which are not used and wasted, which is equivalent to waste reuse.

This turbocharger is the most important part of the engine, it is a linkage of two blades, one blade receives the blow of exhaust gases, drives the other blade, and blows air in.

Now, it was the orange rubber pipe on the outside of the pump casing of the latter that exploded, and it blew a big hole.

In this way, the engine is depressurized, the intake air does not get enough air, and of course the power will drop rapidly, turning into an ordinary self-priming engine.

If it explodes, it must be that the strength of the pipe is not enough, just increase the strength.

He didn't think it was a problem with the strength of the tube of the supercharger, after all, the bench was good when it was tested, but now, since the tube was blown up, the first thing that came to mind was that the strength was not enough.

After all, that's the pipe for the output of the supercharger, and after the supercharger is pressurized, the pressure inside is much higher. Perhaps, maybe it is really not strong enough?

If a single layer of pipe is not enough, then there are two layers inside and outside, and another layer of clamps is added outside, so that the strength is always large enough, right?

After a day of waiting, the new tubes were installed and the test run began again.

The 730-horsepower engine roared one after another, and the turbocharger let out a sharp whistle, making a whistle-like sound in high-speed rotation.

I guess this is the difference from the previous engine! Zhang Xiangqian thought about it and started the test again.

Starting, accelerating, steering, the turret of this tank is almost the same as that of the transplanted 79 tank, so the main thing that needs to be tested is the stability of the chassis.

The previous 122 tank used a tall three-liquid prototype car, with a hydraulic transmission, hydraulic control and adjustable liquid-gas suspension, which sounded lofty, but in practice, there were many failures.

Now, the chassis has been changed back to the original way, or the usual torsion bar suspension, or the ordinary fixed-axle gearbox, or tie rod operation, so it should be very stable.

The storm tank has already started testing, and no 730 horsepower engine burst pipes have been found, which is probably a special case, and it is estimated that the last pipe was unqualified.
