Wang Yuan arched his hand and said with a smile: "I have long heard that there are high-ranking monks in Hangzhou who have never visited the mountain, and today they finally got their wish." ”

Venerable Huitong personally accompanied Wang Yuan to visit the monastery and worship many Bodhisattvas and Buddhas.

It's a pity that during the Hongwu period, most of the Lingyin Temple was burned down by a fire. The Yongle Dynasty was finally partially rebuilt, and the Xuande Dynasty was burned down again, and only ten palaces and pavilions have been repaired so far, and the glory of the Song and Yuan dynasties has not been restored.

"Amitabha, I don't dare to be the profound words of the Dharma," Huitong Heshi Xuan, "the governor but also questioned, the poor monk knows everything, and the words are endless." ”

Wang Yuan asked, "I heard that Guanyin's Dharma was a male body before, why are they all female now?" ”

Venerable Huitong said, "Avalokiteshvara has traveled through the world, incarnated into billions of people, and saved sentient beings. Both men and women are incarnated by bodhisattvas. The world feels its compassion and sacrifices it to a loving mother, so most of the Guanyin Dharma in the world is a woman. ”

"I see," Wang Yuan asked again, "I heard that Guanyin Bodhisattva has the ability to send children." ”

Venerable Huitong said, "Guanyin Bodhisattva has great divine power. If a woman asks for a man and worships and makes offerings to Guanyin Bodhisattva, she will give birth to a man of good fortune and wisdom; If you ask for a daughter, you will give birth to a daughter who is upright and good-looking. ”

Wang Yuan asked again: "In this case, are all the male and female babies in the world given by Guanyin Bodhisattva?" ”

Gen Hui Tong said, "It should be so. ”

Wang Yuantu was poor: "What if there is a family whose Guanyin Bodhisattva gave him a baby girl, but he was drowned by his parents in order to ask for a boy?" Can a bodhisattva be angry because of this? ”

Buddhists believe that anger is the root of all evil, and Guanyin Bodhisattva naturally cannot be angry. However, drowning babies violates the way of heaven and humanity, and Guanyin Bodhisattva should be angry, otherwise it will not conform to the image of great compassion.

Master Huitong really has a profound Dharma, and he said without hesitation: "Guanyin also has anger. ”

Wang Yuan asked, "What does Guanyin's angry appearance look like?" ”

Venerable Huitong said, "Amanti Guanyin, there are two kinds of dharma. A kind of law riding a lion, raising a stick and angry eyes, supporting justice and punishing evil. ”

Wang Yuan suddenly threw the letter incense in his hand in front of Guanyin's Faxiang, and walked away.

Everyone was shocked, this is a great disrespect to Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Master Huitong hurried after him and asked, "Governor, why is this?" ”

Wang Yuan said in an excited tone: "There are countless drowning babies in several provinces in the south of the Yangtze River, especially in Zhejiang. What do I worship? If you want to worship, worship the angry-eyed Guanyin! ”

Wang Yuan said to Yuan Da beside him: "Order the monks of all provinces to demolish all the Guanyin in the famous temple of Zhejiang. All of them were replaced with the appearance of sending Guanyin, this sending Guanyin, holding the baby girl in one hand and holding a stick in the other, looking at all beings angrily! ”

Master Huitong hurriedly advised: "Governor, don't be so arrogant. ”

Wang Yuan asked rhetorically: "Master, Zhejiang is vulgar and vulgar, isn't Guanyin Bodhisattva angry when he sees it?" ”

Wang Yuan suddenly took out a booklet from his arms: "Master, this is the Buddhist scripture I found by chance, it was already broken, so I specially asked people to copy it again." ”

Master Huitong took the booklet, opened it and looked at it casually, and then looked strange and silent.

The Buddhist scripture that Wang Yuan "picked up by chance" is called "Guanyin Bodhisattva Sutra".

The content of the scripture is very simple, Guanyin does not care about the appearance of men and women. However, due to the drowning of infants in the Sui and Tang dynasties, Guanyin Bodhisattva has since shown herself as a female Dharma body in order to let the world cherish women. If there is a drowning home, no matter how much you worship and hold the prayer, Guanyin Bodhisattva will no longer bless the family. Unless you continue to accumulate virtue and do good deeds and stop drowning babies, you will not be able to gain the bodhisattva's understanding after three generations.

Wang Yuan looked around and muttered to himself: "I wonder if the monks of this Lingyin Temple can often go home to visit their parents, and can they often go home to worship their ancestors?" ”

Master Huitong was shocked, as if he saw that Lingyin Temple was going through a legal tribulation.

Zhu Yuanzhang has a rule that monks and Taoists must also follow the etiquette system, and "filial piety" is the first article that monks must abide by. If the parents are still alive at home, the monk and Taoist priest will ignore the parents; Or the ancestral tomb is still there, and the monks and Taoists have never worshiped their ancestors...... Hehe, the rod will be fined 100 and the order will be vulgar!

According to this Ming law, Wang Yuan can reasonably and legally force more than half of the monks of Lingyin Temple to return to the world.

Master Huitong sighed: "This move is immeasurably meritorious, the poor monk is the Dugang of Hangzhou Monks, and he should urge the major monasteries in Hangzhou to obey the governor's orders. ”

Wang Yuan bowed to Master Huitong and said, "On behalf of thousands of girls in Zhejiang, thank Master for his kindness." ”

When Master Huitong received this gift, he immediately felt inexplicable, and said in a ashamed tone: "It doesn't have to be like this, the poor monks should worship the governor." The Governor's mercy has made us and other monks ashamed. ”

Wang Yuan said with a smile: "Please also ask the master to improve the scriptures quickly, and I will print them and send them to the whole province." When the time comes, send random spot checks, if there are monks who can't recite the "Guanyin Bodhisattva Turning into a Female Sutra", they will immediately withdraw their official degrees, and all those who do not return to the vulgar will be arrested and exiled to the army! ”
