Sections 471 and 472 Four edicts
Tang Guogong's New Year's Day edict has a total of four.
The first national edict: 50,000 peasants and soldiers were trained and elected, and young people were selected to serve as assistants in the defense of Haidong. Awarded the peasant soldier the title of Tang Yongjun. Tang Yongjun trained in farming and was equipped with rattan armor spears. Tang Yongjun has one brigade in each county, with the county lieutenant as the brigade commander.
The ministers all know it. The purpose of training 50,000 peasant soldiers for the Tang Yong Army was to defend Haidong. Once an army rises against the Yuan, it is bound to dispatch troops to conquer the country. Haidong left a maximum of 10,000 soldiers and 8,000 soldiers and horses to garrison, and the troops were very empty. With these 50,000 Tang Yongjun, it was different.
The second national edict: officially take the improved Tiandaoism as the state religion, and clearly use the yin and yang Taiji charm as the emblem. Believers are allowed to wear wooden Yin Yang Tai Chi cards. Under the Heavenly Pavilion, a mission was set up, with a member of the Heavenly Master and a number of missionaries. In this way, it spreads Chinese Taoism, promotes the way of heaven, and educates barbarians.
The edict also made it clear that the supreme god of Taoism is the God of Haotian, representing the supreme truth of heaven. But the God of Haotian manifests all things, everywhere, and there is no specific image of the gods. Taishang Laojun is just an incarnation of Haotian God in the world, so Taishang Laojun represents Haotian God, but Haotian God is not Taishang Laojun.
To worship the Taishang Daojun is to sacrifice to the heavens, that is, the god of Haotian.
And Fuxi Nuwa, the two emperors of Yan and Huang, were born from the will of Haotian God, and were used to reproduce and educate the gods of all people, that is, the Son of Heaven, and they were also the ancestral gods of China.
Confucius and Mencius represent Wendao, and they are sages who uphold the will of Haotian and assist the Son of Heaven in educating the people. Therefore, Confucianism promoted by Confucius and Mencius is a branch of the way of heaven.
Guan Yue represents martial arts, and is a sage who adheres to the will of Haotian and assists the Son of Heaven in ensuring education and eliminating evil and demons. Therefore, the martial arts carried forward by Guan Yue are also branches of the Heavenly Dao.
Lu Mo represents the way of applying things, and is a sage who adheres to the will of Haotian, assists the Son of Heaven to progress civilization and explores the truth. Therefore, the Tao of Things carried forward by Lu Mo is also a branch of the Dao of Heaven.
Cheng Zhu's science (improved) is a philosopher who adheres to the will of Haotian, assists the Son of Heaven to regulate people's hearts, and purifies the source. Therefore, the science carried forward by Cheng Zhu is also a branch of the Heavenly Dao.
Then, Chinese Taoism is a hierarchical worship of the Godhead. From top to bottom is Haotian God (Taishang Laojun), the ancestor of Yanhuang, the son of heaven in later generations, Confucius, Meng, Guanyue, and Lumo.
Whether it is a scribe, a samurai, a craftsman, or a common man, all of them are under the norms of the Heavenly Dao, and they become Heavenly Dao believers, with respect, fear, perseverance, faith, love, and evil.
Only by believing in the way of heaven, each in his place, and cultivating himself, can he reach the realm of "gentleman", so that his luck will increase, the way of heaven will protect him, and his spirit will last forever. Otherwise, he is a lowly and ignorant villain.
This set of rigorous theories was all concocted by Zheng Sixiao, the national teacher of the Heavenly Dao Pavilion, under the instruction of Li Luo. It has not subverted the essence of Taoism, but has only made systematic standardization and improvement. The biggest change is that Confucianism is the Tao, so that Confucianism is no longer in opposition to Taoism, but has become a part of the Tao.
For this reason, Zheng Sixiao, a classic of the Jing Dao family, also compiled a Taoist scripture "Heavenly Dao True Scripture" at the request of Li Luo.
The theoretical doctrine of the "Heavenly Dao True Scripture" covers the content of the edict norms, and also regulates the Taoist sacrificial rituals, taboos, and organizations. At the same time, in order to promote and promote, a large number of fables and stories are also mixed, so as to have a strong interest.
Li Luo was very satisfied after reading the "Heavenly Dao True Scripture". He asked Zheng Sixiao to put the "Tiandao Zhenjing" together with the "Tao Te Ching", "Nanhua Zhenjing", "I Ching", and "Wenshi Zhenjing", collectively known as the "Five Classics", as the five major scriptures of Taoism. Of course, the Tao Te Ching is the first.
However, because the "Heavenly Dao True Scripture" is summarized and interesting, the most standardized, and the most simple and popular, Li Luo asked that the "Heavenly Dao True Scripture" be the first scripture to popularize Taoism.
Why is Taoism so difficult to popularize? The reason is that there is no sense of ritual, insufficient formal expression, and lack of strict system constraints. Second, there are too many scriptures, and the scriptures are often subtle and profound, and they are not easy for the general public to understand.
Li Luo also used the ancient Chinese books recovered from Japan to ask Zheng Sixiao to compile the "History of Taoist Gods", which included all the ancient Chinese legends and "The Classic of Mountains and Seas" into the "History of Taoist Gods". Such as Pangu, Fuxi, Nuwa, Yan and Huang Emperors, Chiyou, Kuafu, Houyi, etc., all of them are integrated to build a complete Taoist mythological system.
Then, equate Taoist mythology with Chinese mythology.
Finally, it is also required to make a connection between the "History of Taoist Gods" and the history of Chinese letters.
This project is very large, and it can't be too obvious to be rigidly built, so Zheng Sixiao hasn't started writing yet. Fortunately, the ancient books recovered from Japan contain a lot of ancient myths and legends, which can be used as material for the history of gods.
The third national edict: the blue background dragon and phoenix auspicious flag as the flag of the Tang State; Take the dragon and phoenix as the emblem of the office; The phoenix flag with a black background is the military flag, and the "Manjianghong" of King Wumu is the military song; The sun, moon and stars are the emblem of the Luoning Society.
The fourth national edict: with the plum blossom as the national flower, and the plum blossom pattern as the samurai badge, it is a metaphor for the noble and fearless; Take the ploughing ox as the national beast, and the ox ploughing map as the scribe badge, which means loyalty and diligence; The crane is the national bird, and the flying crane is the badge of the craftsman, the scholar of the object, and the alchemist (scientist), which is a metaphor for wisdom and gnosis.
Of these four edicts, except for the first one, which is a real matter, the other three are all "virtual". It may seem like a redundant move, but both Li Luo and Cui Xiuning are well aware of the importance of formal aesthetics.
It's about reinforcing commonality, cohesion, and self-awareness.
Of course, they didn't know that Li Luo's hand was teaching with Christ and so-and-so. Why are Christ and so-and-so so so powerful in the later generations? In addition to their strict system and strong sense of ritual, it is because they have a very aggressive missionary system.
One hand is a scripture, the other is a sword. Of course, Li Luo wants to learn it.
Many officials did not understand these edicts very well. But Li Luo doesn't care about this, they... I don't understand.
After the end of the New Year's Day, Li Luo went to inspect the Modao team, which had been in the army for five months, the next day: the Huya Forbidden Army.
After a few months, the Mo knife and hand axe were all built. More than 2,400 Mo swordsmen are practicing hard every day.
Today is only the second day of the first lunar month, and the Mo swordsmen are still training.
Li Luo saw a tall and burly Mo swordsman, wearing two layers of armor, practicing slashing movements.
A simple chop, but they have been tempered repeatedly. The Mo knife weighing sixteen or seventeen catties, under the wave of their strong and powerful arms, the tiger and the tiger were vigorous, and a piece of white light was cut down, like a bolt of lightning, and under the swing of the knife by thousands of people, the momentum was very amazing.
There was no shouting and shouting in the entire training ground, except for the sound of blades slashing through the air and the sound of iron armor, it was quiet.
Because, Mo Dao Shi is not allowed to shout and kill, so he can only shut up and train in silence. According to the military regulations of the Huya Forbidden Army, even if you kill the enemy on the battlefield, try not to shout.
The power of silence is more powerful than shouting, and it makes the enemy angry.
Li Luo didn't bother with the training of Mo Dao Warrior, but just watched from a place not far away.
After half an hour, the Mo swordsmen began to train their hand axes again.
The hand axe of the Tang Jun Mo swordsman is not a real axe. The design of the hand axe is clever, and once thrown, there must be a blade tip pointing forward. The hand axe weighs three catties, and within the range of two or three zhang, if it is thrown by a wrestler like Mo Daoshi, it will break the iron armor.
Therefore, there are only two keys to their training of hand axes. One is to take off the hand axe and throw it neatly, and the other is to be accurate.
In particular, the accuracy is even more difficult in training. There is only one hand axe, and of course it is necessary to try to hurt the enemy with one blow or the horse with one hit.
"Whew..."
Under the wave of the command, the Mo swordsmen did not move too neatly, took off the hand axe at their waists, held it high above the top, and then threw it out not very neatly.
"Poof! Poof! ”
The humanoid target three zhang away in front of him was hit by a hand axe, and the three-inch-long blade slashed into it. This power looks terrifying.
It's so close, and I've been training for a while, so of course I won't be in vain.
It is conceivable that when the Mongol cavalry rushed up, this move alone could make the enemy suffer a heavy loss.
However, when the enemy cavalry charged at high speed, the distance of three zhang was fleeting, and whether or not the axe could be thrown in time was very critical.
Therefore, it is important to grasp the impact of the cavalry and the speed of your own reaction, and calculate the timing of the throw. According to the training requirements, in the later stage, it is necessary to replace the hand axe with non-lethal tools, so that the cavalry can cooperate with the training.
Li Luo looked at it for a while, feeling quite satisfied, and then ordered each Mo swordsman to reward a pound of whales, and then left.
In the afternoon, Li Luo, Cui Xiuning, Wen Tianxiang and others went to observe the training of the firearms brigade.
Today, the four firearms brigades are basically fully equipped. One-pound guns, three-pound guns, six-pound guns, and ten-pound guns are all in mass production. The heavy eighteen-pound cannon has also been successfully experimented and is about to start mass production.
The tactics of the firearms brigade are different from those of other arms, and they are completely formulated by Cui Xiuning.
Unlike other troops, firearms crews have a higher level of rank and are more demanding. Cui Xiuning made strict regulations on the marching and stopping of the queue, as well as the loading and firing of charges, team coordination, the fire coordination of guns and artillery, battlefield discipline, etc., and formulated many standardized actions.
There are also strict norms for the command and operation practices of firearms units.
The firearms of the Tang army also had to train the tactical movements of crawling forward. So when Li Luo came to the training ground of a firearms brigade, he saw thousands of people practicing crawling forward.
And it was with muskets, crawling forward with ammunition on their backs. Since the firecrackers can shoot the enemy while lying on the ground, and lying on the ground can reduce the enemy's bows and firearms (the Yuan army also has firearms), so the firecrackers have this tactical move.
The firing tactics of the Tang Army's guns were based on three-stage strikes, and then various changes were made. Therefore, the three units of the firecrackers, the team, the wing, and the regiment, are all listed as three long formations. It's easy and faster to line up in battle formation.
There are two main types of firearms troops: hollow formations and horizontal formations. The hollow formation is a defensive formation, while the horizontal formation belongs to the offensive formation.
At this time, suddenly a sharp whistle sounded on the school field, and the firecrackers who were crawling forward all turned sideways and took out the spears on their backs and put them on the firecracker tubes, and there was a sound of friction in the entire training ground.
The musketeers were drawn from the pikemen, and they were already proficient in assassination, and once they picked up their bayonets, they could become spearmen, and their muskets would never become burning sticks because they had no ammunition.
Soon, the musketeers were once again lined up in pikemen.
Then, three offensive columns were listed, with the firecrackers in front, the first lying down, the second half-kneeling, and the third standing. Behind the three long columns, artillery. Small cannons in front, medium and large cannons in the rear.
Musketeers and gunners are mimicking reloading under their banners. Their movements are neat and standardized, and they look very well trained. Li Luo also saw his former personal guard Yan Falcon inside.
At this time, Yan Falcon was already the head of the regiment, and he was waving the command flag, directing the 1,000 firearms soldiers under his command to change formation.
Yan Falcon had already discovered that Li Luo was observing not far away, but he was now directing tactical movements, and according to the regulations, he could not stop halfway unless there was an order.
However, there was no real gun.
"Why not? Can't afford ammunition? Li Luo asked.
Cui Xiuning nodded, "I stipulate that live ammunition training will only be conducted once every three days." Otherwise, the consumption of ammunition is too great. A day of medium-intensity live-fire training for a gunner will consume at least three catties of gunpowder. Not to mention artillery, a three-pound cannon, a cannon is a pound of gunpowder. ”
Wen Tianxiang said: "That's true. Even if it is a live-fire training in three days, the minister also feels distressed. The four firearms brigades spent 50,000 catties of medicine for one day of live-fire training, and at most 70,000 catties or 80,000 catties. And that's not counting marbles. If you add marbles, it's even more terrible. ”
Li Luo was a little speechless. Live ammunition and non-live ammunition are completely different things, if the firearms soldier is not trained with live ammunition, how powerful can he be once he is on the battlefield?
But every day live ammunition training, that's not a matter of reluctance, but... No.
The population of the Tang State was only 1.23 million, and the army alone was 180,000, resulting in a lack of human resources. But even so, there are still nearly 10,000 people in the Tang Dynasty's arsenal production and Yamen craftsman's office, which is more than the number of people in the northern and southern workshops of the Song Dynasty combined.
However, the pressure on the craftsman is too great, and there are too many things to produce. Gunpowder is already a key care, but the production is still insufficient. Especially for nitrate, it is not so easy.
"After three months, how many catties of gunpowder can I have?" Li Luo asked. He didn't know these questions in too much detail before.
Cui Xiuning replied: "Two million catties is the most." Counted, enough for four firearms brigades to fight continuously for a month. ”
Li Luo sighed. It is impossible for a firearms brigade to fight every day, it is enough to fight continuously for a month, in fact, it can be used for several months.
Wen Tianxiang smiled: "Don't worry, your lordship. There is a large gunpowder workshop in Lin'an, although it is now under the Yuan court, it should not be discontinued. Although the gunpowder firearms produced by the Lin'an Gunpowder Workshop are not as good as my Tang, the craftsmen in it are all good. As long as we take Lin'an, our gunpowder will not be worried. ”
Cui Xiuning nodded, "That's what Mr. Wen said. The workshop was renamed the Zhedong Firearms Miscellaneous Bureau, and there were hundreds of old craftsmen alone. Half of the firearms and gunpowder of the Yuan army were produced by this Eastern Zhejiang Firearms Miscellaneous Manufacturing Bureau. Last year, they made more than 3 million catties of gunpowder. There are also thousands of artillery rockets. ”
ps: I'm sorry, the cold hasn't gone away today, and people are uncomfortable, so it's late, and the number of words is not much. Try to make up for it tomorrow. Crab crab everyone supports me so much, begging for subscriptions, asking for tickets, there is something that can be recommended on the book list, give me a book list. Good night!
