The first run of the 683 assembly line
After the kiln was handed over to the craftsmen, I began to worry about the mixer that mixed the yellow clay.
Obviously, this thing only needs to mix the added loess and water well. But we experimented several times. Even after the kilns were set up by the craftsmen on the side, we couldn't get this 'donkey-powered' mixer to work.
My earliest design was based on the kind of food blender that was used in later kitchens.
But this design is surprisingly laborious! If you put about a cubic meter of loess, then a donkey will not be able to carry a roulette connected to the agitator at all. If you use two donkeys to stir hard at the same time, you can barely turn up. However, if the speed of adding a wave wheel to the bottom of the mixer is not fast enough, it will not be able to mix the yellow mud and water smoothly!
So after studying for a long time, we finally had to grit our teeth and dismantle a drum washing machine to create a blender that can barely stir evenly...... As soon as the assembly line starts, even if you use two or three mixers at the same time, you can't bring enough yellow mud......
Unexpectedly, it turned out to be the most inconspicuous yellow mud that prevented the efficiency of the assembly line......
But fortunately, when the boss of the craftsman in the Zhuangzi, that is, the old blacksmith who took the lead in helping to transform the first RV 'Xuanjia Iron Award', stood up. I heard that before coming to our Zhuangzi, this craftsman used to be a craftsman who helped the Ministry of Industry to make all kinds of siege equipment. It's just that I don't know why I came to my Zhuangzi later, and became a craftsman in my Zhuangzi.
But this guy's skills and vision are very superb! When he learned that I was worried about the problem of yellow mud, he gave me an extremely reasonable idea...... Use artificial to and mud.
In other words, Nie Xiaoqian and I have been busy with the mixer for a long time, but we didn't find the yellow mud needed for this, and the mixed soil for the furnace embryo in the kiln, in fact, the amount required is not very large. As long as the farmers are allowed to start work every day, the labor and mud will come out! A dozen or so people use shovels and yellow mud to consume a whole day in this assembly line...... We are completely in the wrong place. I didn't think that everything needs automata to make it......
But it also made me understand how capable these craftsmen in the Zhuangzi really are. If I had thought of asking them to help me earlier, this factory and assembly line would have been built in half the time! The old craftsman also appreciated the method of producing the furnace from the production line. He even said that this was a long-lost way~ It's just that I didn't believe his words very much.
With the help of the craftsmen, after another day, the entire production line began to run with the sufficient manpower of the bankers.
Every day, more than a dozen people and mud are used to fill the furnace on the one hand, and to prepare the furnace for firing the furnace on the other hand.
Because several small kilns are working at the same time, and the hearth of honeycomb coal is not as complicated as porcelain, and even easier than firing pottery, so that each kiln can fire 100 hearths almost every day!
And the rollers on the production line, driven by the 'donkey power', roll the furnace shell very quickly. The farmers hand over the rolled cylinders to the next group of people on a conveyor belt, paste the yellow mud inside the furnace shell, and then transfer it to the next group. After installing the pre-cut iron bars to separate the space for placing the ashes, the next group of people will install the furnace chamber, and finally rivet the bottom of the furnace with rivets to rivet the base with the ash mouth, so that the honeycomb coal stove is basically completed.
All that remains is to roll out the chimney with smaller rollers with another wave of people, and after adding a ring with a chimney mouth poured by a special blacksmith, a qualified honeycomb coal stove is completely completed.
It is said that when the day is over, the farmers found that they had worked for ten hours to produce hundreds of honeycomb coal stoves, but they were really shocked~ In the past, they used to use pure manual methods, but a family could only produce a few furnaces a day. In the end, the entire Zhuangzi will produce dozens of them a day at most. Now it's counted, but it's several times faster! And because of the division of labor, this furnace is also more labor-saving.
This is due to the fact that the blacksmith is too slow to cast the ring, otherwise this output could be doubled......
By the time we reached the third day of production on the assembly line, we didn't know what was going on. The production of this factory has spread to Chang'an City. Then at that time, someone from the Ministry of Works came to visit with the holy decree. He also forcibly took away the boss of the craftsman's household, saying that he wanted to requisition the craftsmen and then build a production line for the Ministry of Industry...... Of course, this line is not for the production of furnaces.
But even so, the news spread too quickly, right? And how did these people in the Ministry of Engineering suddenly discover the benefits of production line flow operation? He came on the third day with a decree? Isn't this a robbery?
I'm suddenly a little glad that these people don't know that in fact, the main designers of the production line are Nie Xiaoqian, Yuan, and Yang. Otherwise, it is estimated that they will all be 'requisitioned' and taken away...... 52 Literature
However, after the boss of the craftsman was brought into Chang'an City, probably many chambers of commerce also heard about our output, and then brought more orders for furnaces...... It looks like the people in my bank are going to make a lot of money because of it!
I did a rough calculation, just such a small factory can bring me tens of thousands of dollars a day! This is still in the case that I just want the dealers to make more money, and I only take a 30% of the profit. It turns out that the price of a honeycomb coal stove is not far from the price of a good steel knife...... That's a profit margin, isn't it? Although the price of all iron supplies in the Tang Dynasty was very high, the metal needed for this furnace was not particularly large! I didn't expect a set of stoves to sell for nearly 2,000 yuan, which is really unexpected...... Now I suddenly want to go to the mine and become a mine owner. Because I now know that the most profitable thing in this era is actually the sale of iron tools...... Anyway, there is a national atlas in the mall. It is marked with information on the major iron ore mines across the country! Although the maps of later generations were not easy to find the boundaries in the Tang Dynasty. However, iron ore is not as scarce as veins of precious metals. I remember that the names of several cities on the map indicated that the area was rich in iron ore. As long as you find a place, mining is very profitable......
Of course, I'm just thinking about it. After all, I don't have the skills to mine and smelt ore. Besides, mining is troublesome and dangerous. I still honestly follow my own ideas, and it is better to open a store in Chang'an City to make money.
The things about the assembly line, the factory building, and the furnace are all done now. Although more than half of the craftsmen in Zhuangzi were taken away by the Ministry of Industry by 'order'. However, the remaining farmers will gradually become wealthy because of this factory and a steady stream of orders. After all, working in a factory can be dozens of times better than their usual farming income. So as long as it takes a while, my farmers will also become real rich people because of this factory......
Especially after the first batch of orders was delivered, I watched the housekeeper and uncle pay his wages in public. Not only the people in the entire Zhuangzi, including me, were shocked by this heroic way of dividing the money~ Just this first batch of orders, so that each dealer has divided a few dollars...... That's more than they would normally earn in a year!
In addition, why is the matter of dividing copper coins by me as 'dividing the gold on a large scale'...... That's because after I came home from the palace, in addition to being busy with the assembly line, the first thing I did was to go to the treasury to see the 'ten thousand gold' rewarded by the emperor~ Anyway, before I saw the real thing, I always thought that the 'ten thousand gold' was a reward of 10,000 taels of gold~ But after I saw the real thing, I found that the so-called ten thousand gold was actually a 'flower head'~ It turned out to be a string of 10,000 'money'!
This money is really the same as the appearance of Zhenguan Tongbao, a square-hole coin made of gold. But~ The size and thickness of this money are too bad~ 10,000 pieces can be strung together. I weighed it, and the sum of the 10,000 coins was only 597 grams. Anyway, the person who minted this money is too picky! It's just over a pound of gold, and I thought it was 10,000 taels or 1,000 catties! That's a big difference, and the money is about to turn into gold leaf......
It is for this reason that I learned a little knowledge that is completely unnecessary~ It turns out that during the Tang Dynasty, many people used big scales to weigh copper coins, because the number of each copper coin was fixed, so in addition to the specifications of 100 Wen for a string of money and 1,000 Wen for the consistent money, the rest was all weighed. It was the butler who told me the news when he saw me using the title 'Wan Jin'.
And now I also see that when the housekeeper divides the money to each banker, he uses the name of the big one...... In particular, after the housekeeper also told me that the allusion of this 'big scale dividing gold' still came from Cheng Yanjin's time in Wagangzhai, I was really speechless...... But it's good that they're happy.
After solving the economic problems of the dealers. After I remembered the stimulation of 'Wanjin' again, I decided that it would be better to hurry back to Chang'an City to make money in person. Since the amount of gold rewarded by the emperor is not enough for my daily consumption, then I should hurry up and find another way to make money!
At the same time, the construction of the academy and the women's army camp should also be taken seriously.
However, although the building materials supported by the imperial court are almost in place, the manpower problem will have to wait for a while. It was winter as we saw it, so it was not so easy for the conscripts to be gathered. And according to the habits of Datang, the best time to build such a large building is actually spring and summer. In winter, not only because of the weather but also because of the construction difficulties, the increase in the physical consumption of each worker is also a problem! So this time the conscription was not as easy to summon as the last time.
There are even suggestions that the construction of the academy should be delayed directly until after the spring before it begins.
So now I can only pay for some workers to do the construction by myself, and there are not a few skilled craftsmen to help now, so whether it is the construction of the academy or the construction of the camp of the Women's Army, it is now out of a slow and leisurely mode. Because of the lack of technical support, the hired workers had to build dormitories and the like. Many of the drawings are designed, including the teaching building, the laboratory, and the training place in the Women's Army camp, because without the support of stonemasons and carpenters, it is completely impossible to start construction! Not even the flooring could be done. In the academy and women's army camp I originally designed, the ground for most occasions was paved with bluestone slabs......
So I very much hope that there will be a large number of stonemasons and carpenters to help, and it is better to gather all the masters of Lubanmen again. Because they are all all-round technical talents! Not only are carpenters good at design, but even blacksmiths and stonemasons are perfectly qualified for their work. Moreover, it can be done that one person can command more than a dozen ordinary workers at the same time to complete technical work. Without them, the building on this drawing would have been really difficult to build.
"Alas! So, let's put those buildings aside for a while and make some more gold! I said after walking around the site.
After I returned to Chang'an City again, I finally found a chance to go to Cheng's house to meet Cheng Biting Jin. But what I have been wanting to ask for a while ago, the inside story and analysis of what happened in the palace and in the court, I have now forgotten all about it. So after seeing Cheng Biting Jin, in addition to being dragged by him for a drink, there was only one thing left to discuss another money-making business...... This is a new deal that I have decided on after a long period of deliberation: I am going to buy an entire alley directly in Chang'an City, including the houses on both sides, and then build it directly into a huge entertainment complex in the city. A real gold cave.
A comprehensive entertainment facility that includes a variety of entertainment facilities, a large theater, luxury stores and high-end restaurants. I even figured it out, this huge 'gold cave' doesn't even accept copper coins, and directly uses gold that is not in circulation in the market as the only currency. In this way, I don't have to lose a certain amount of fees when I exchange copper coins for gold!
Anyway, for me, gold is the 'hard currency' that is most needed! And copper coins or something, you can earn enough from a restaurant. Not to mention that now there is another factory to make money by producing honeycomb coal stoves......
