scp-009 scp-010 011
Item No: SCP-009
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Subject is to be placed in a sealed water tank of at least 14 cubic meters made of insulated alloy.
SCP-009 is not to be exposed to temperatures above 0°C under any circumstances other than experimentation. No solids (other than ice) that are liquids at room temperature are allowed within 30 meters of the containment measures. The object's containment facility is to be equipped with a temperature sensor and monitored at all times, and no less than three (3) refrigerators are to be used to keep the cooler cool. Any malfunction of the temperature sensor or refrigeration system needs to be reported and repaired immediately.
If the temperature in the suppression measures rises above -5 °C, the suppression measures are to be immediately closed and immersed in the refrigerant until the temperature drops between -25 °C and -30 °C. When a person enters, the containment zone must be kept in a vacuum, and the water vapor in the containment measures must be filtered and isolated for at least 24 hours in the same environment as the containment measures. Any water vapor exhibiting SCP-009's properties is to be quarantined and added to containment measures as soon as possible.
Anyone observing or coming into contact with SCP-009 is to wear environmental suits. Tools, research materials, and other items that have come into contact with SCP-009's containment procedures are to be dehydrated. If contaminants are found, no personnel or materials are allowed to leave, and secondary containment of the containment area is to begin. In extreme cases, the target can be terminated, but security guards must stay as far away from the target as possible to ensure no contact with SCP-009-contaminated liquids.
Description: SCP-009 is approximately 3,700 liters (L) of matter exhibiting a number of bizarre properties. A small part of the substance, at all times, is close to water, but most of it is dark red.
In any case, its most notable feature is that it reacts very differently to normal H2O (water) in response to temperature changes: the subject is liquid at -100°C to 0°C, solid at temperatures above this temperature, and evaporates into a vapor-like gas below -100°C, but remains red at high pressures.
Experiments on the atomic structure of the object have yielded no definite results. Testing has shown that the subject is composed of hydrogen and oxygen in the same way as normal water, leading researchers to speculate that the source of the subject's anomaly lies in the atoms themselves. Dr. ██████ argues that the object originates from a world where the laws of physics are reversed, or that the nature of the world has been altered.
This speculation has some value in explaining the subject's ability to "assimilate" ordinary water with the same remarkable ability as it. In the event of any physical contact with liquids (which can be ice, salt water, water vapor from the air), SCP-009 will "spread" and contaminate it, causing it to exhibit the subject's properties. Although this property is exhibited in any state, the process is the slowest (and most controllable) in the liquid state.
If the subject comes into contact with any living organism's heat source, the body's bodily fluids will be rapidly transformed by SCP-009, as the transformed bodily fluids will quickly freeze due to the organism's body temperature (mammals are more susceptible due to their high body temperature). As SCP-009 exceives heat when frozen (at the same rate as ice melts), this process continues until all possible liquids are transformed or aborted by external interference.
Experiments with D-class personnel have shown the process of subject transformation, which can be summarized as follows:
1. Initial Contact: Subject is exposed to SCP-009, which exhibits properties and begins to transform any moisture on the contact surface (usually skin). The presence of mist, fog, snow or other solid or liquid water can greatly exacerbate this process.
2. Surface Transformation: A thin layer of the transformed area is heated by body temperature and the heat produced by SCP-239 during freezing. This process can occur at any site and last anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, depending on the subject's body temperature. At this stage, the frozen process passes through the epidermis and quickly reaches the living cells.
3. Deep transformation: The volumetric expansion of the ice caused by the increase in temperature penetrates the subject's body, causing the cells to rupture from the inside. Due to the crystal overflowing the wound, there is little bleeding at this stage, and the subject can continue to survive and remain conscious for ██ hours.
4. [DATA EXPUNGED]
5. Death: Multiple organs in the body stop working, and blood circulation stops due to blood crystallization.
Experimentation with D-class personnel ceased on 4/23/20██.
Addendum: Condition at the time of recovery: Subject was found in ████, Alaska on 11/05/19██. The Foundation intervened after receiving a report from a local resident, ████ Tribe, who walked through the shattered carcasses of what appeared to be a shipwrecked seal vessel ██ meters from the village.
The bodies of all the victims were wrapped in red ice. The cause of death was recorded as internal bleeding. On the intact remains, the expressions of horror and severe pain of the victims were observed. It is assumed that the lower ambient temperature slows down the process of icing. This extended the conversion time to ██ hours, and kept the victim conscious until [DATA EXPUNGED].
Addendum: 12/16/20██
Until further notice, ultra-low temperature testing of SCP-009 is prohibited. Employees should only use liquid nitrogen for a controlled amount of objects and only when the temperature reaches an acceptable level.
Item No: SCP-010
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Object designation SCP-010 is to be kept in a numbered, locked case under high security clearance, and is not to be worn except by test subjects.
SCP-010 is not to be removed from storage except for testing purposes
Description: SCP-010 consists of a set of 6 apparent iron collars, each with a digital metal tag, and a remote control.
The remote control number is 010-1, and the collar number is 010-2~010-7. The collar has internal electronics and is powered by a 5mm diameter, 2mm thick 100V battery that can be recharged.
The remote control is a heavy black box resembling an old handheld radio/radio, with an original blue-and-white tube radio display and over 100 unlabeled buttons.
Through experiments and mistakes, the buttons corresponding to the 6 collars found so far have been identified. A steel stamp with a label in Russian and a sign that reads 'Workers building the pyramids' are stamped on the box. No official Russian company or government agency uses this logo or conforms to the text on the label.
Placing a collar around someone's neck and locking it allows another person to control all of the victim's actions using the remote control. At the same time, this can bring unnatural sense of responsibility and motivation to the victim and shut down the victim's sympathetic nervous system. The object's most peculiar ability is its ability to alter the body structure of its victims. The user of the remote control can distort and alter the victim's form at will, seemingly limited only by their knowledge of the system's programming language.
Addendum 010-1: History
SCP-010 was discovered in the home of a man living alone in the Midwestern United States. When a local disappearance revealed a link to the man, police raided the man's residence and found SCP-010 and multiple bodies. One of them was identified as the man himself, while the rest of the bodies belonged to other missing persons. The cause of death appears to be a mass suicide, but the police also found obvious signs of fighting.
Addendum 010-2: Disassembly Experiment
Test 1 SCP-010-2 was disassembled, parts numbered, and reassembled after multiple photographs were taken. Results: Reconstituted SCP-010-2 functioned normally
Test 2 SCP-010-8, a new creation based on SCP-010-2, but using some non-replicable parts of the nearest substitute Conclusion: 010-8 could not be activated
Experiment 3 Removing the non-replicable parts from 010-2 and inserting them into the corresponding parts of 010-8, Conclusion: 010-2 no longer reacts to the remote control, and 010-8 activates.
Experiment 4 Reload the parts from the above experiment into SCP-010-2 and randomly replace the reproducible portions of SCP-010-2 with replicas. Conclusion: 010-2 regained functionality after the key components were installed, and replacing it with a replicable copy did not significantly affect 010-2's functionality, and replacing a damaged teleporter would slow 010-2's response time to remote control commands by 12%
Addendum 010-3
SCP-010 is defined as a tool for "generating unskilled labor more efficiently than for any other purpose", and the label on the remote control is apt. ~Dr. █████
Item No: SCP-011
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-011 and its surrounding grounds are to be cleaned up once a day. It is safe to recommend that the cleanup should begin at least 30 minutes after sunset. Cleanup must be carried out by at least 2 personnel, and must be able to notice anomalous movements of the target and debris cleanup. If the target is not cleaned for more than 2 days due to some accident, local residents must be instructed not to approach the target.
[Containment procedures deactivated in 2004]
Description: SCP-011 is a memorial statue of the American Civil War located in Woodstock, Vermont. The statue is in the form of a young soldier holding a smoothbore at his side, and the grounds are littered with granite residues. Occasionally, SCP-011 has been seen shooting at birds attempting to land and excrete on the statue using a smoothbore gun. Reports indicate that the statue made a granite grinding sound as it moved, but did not cause any structural damage. Curiously, the sound of the shot is no different from that of a regular firearm, although witnesses have noted that the statue uses only granite bullets and granite gunpowder to load the shotgun (without hindering the shotgun firing). Despite these actions, some guano have "attacked" SCP-011, with reports of distressed expressions when the statue is covered in a lot of guano, and on rare occasions the statue will shoot at humans.
Addendum: Personnel assigned to maintain SCP-011 must read the #011-1 Maintenance Summary.
